The Editor (Letters) THE OTTAWA CITIZEN
Sir:

I was curious by the report “Sri Lanka kicks foreign aid staff out of country” by-lined by reporter Jeremy Page, as he too was kicked out from Sri Lanka for his bias and unfounded reporting on Sri Lanka. So he has now decided to kick at Sri Lanka’s shins at every opportunity he gets. And there has been nothing positive that has come out of Pages’s pen on Sri Lanka recently. This journalist is angry and has lost his journalistic sense of partiality most of the time.

The NGOs and INGOs too may be finding it difficult to accept these strong decisions that have been made by the Sri Lankan government, as most of them feel that they could abuse Sri Lanka by coming into the island with their agendas, with the clear arrogant notion that “We are Humanitarian Tin Gods and Goddesses and the whole World is with Us and we can do whatever we want to in your country.” But not anymore.

Unfortunately their wings are been clipped and they are finding it the hard way. Sri Lanka is not going to accept that nonsense, and they better understand that they are in Sri Lanka as guests of its government and should not do anything inimical to the security and welfare of that country. Most of all they should understand that Tamil Tigers are their enemy and one doesn’t befriend the residual Tamil Tigers who were militarily defeated by the Sri Lankan government on 18th May, 2009. That is the bottom line.
