ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Channel-4 News in the UK broadcast an unauthenticated video clip, accusing Sri Lanka Army and the government of war crimes. This particular video clip, shown on Channel-4 news on 25th August 2009 at 7.00pm, created a huge controversy throughout the world. It was later shown on BBC, CNN and many other news channels as well as web sites and led to the damage of the reputation of Sri Lanka and our brave forces. It is also detrimental to the reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction process in Sri Lanka.

A demonstration against the Channel-4 Television Corporation organised by British Sri Lankan Forum (BSLF) will be held on 5th September 2009 (Saturday) from 11.00am to 2.00pm in London. BSLF also has launched an online petition campaign which is now circulating around the world collecting signatures for this purpose.

Date: 05th September 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 11.00am – 02.00pm
[Nearest underground station- St.James Park (10mints walk)/ near New Scotland Yard]
Moreover, the healing programmes carried out among divided Sri Lankan communities byƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ organisations in the UK are also affected by this false allegation. Therefore BSLF decided to protest against Channel-4 News and complained to the Office of Communication, the British Regulatory office (which monitors electronic media) to investigate this incident. Ofcom has requested the organisers to hand over a copy of the signed online petition, which they are planning to lodge against Channel-4 with the controversial video clip in DVD format. At the same time BSLF requests Channel-4 to prove the authenticity of the video or make a public apology.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They are planning to hand over a petition to the British Prime Minister as well. The full press release of the event issued by the BSLF is as follows.

It is very shockingly diturbing how USA Officials and an UN officisal are disturbed by this fake , staged acted vedio. You don’t need to be a rocket csientist or an expert to figure out this vedio is fake. You can observe the following making it look very fake:

    1. The shot man does not fall, have no blood ,moan or scream after the shooting.
    2. The blood on the ground looks very artificial bright red ,looks like red paint.
    3. The uniforms are baggy and oversized, non fitting.
    4. The sound seems to be dubted.
And the people does not look like Sinhalese or Tamils. This can only be felt by a Sri Lankan.
This looks like a very cheap vedio production. The people who are dancing to this ,are promoting terrorists to do similar acts in future. The victim here is the GOSL. Next time it could be USA.
