Congratulations to Dr D Chandraratne’s ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (Australia) excellent letter of 17 Sept 09. It was both concise and clear.

Sections of the ruling clique of the western world will continue to shamelessly give succour to the miserable remnants of the eelam terrorists because they still can’t accept and believe that despite their machinations to save the leadership of the killer gang, the magnificent soldiers, sailors and airmen of Sri Lanka’s security forces backed by solid, undiluted political will, pulled off a stunning victory against enormous odds. According to these bleeding hearts, who were with their blinkers on for well nigh 30 years, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ this errant child called Sri Lanka must be pulled into line and punished. Well, justice and the truth will prevail but as Dr Chandraratne warns, we may be free but the chains are still unshackled. Vigilance is paramount.

Sri Lanks’s diplomats, especially those representing our country in western capitals have a crucial role to play and need to be pro active. Equally and of vital relevance here will be the support of the Sri Lankan diaspora which will be hugely important. JAYAWEVA !ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
