PRESIDENT RAJAPAKSA APPEALS TO SOUTHERN VOTERS TO GIVE A LESSON TO THOSE WHO MAKE FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE COUNTRY

President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing more than one hundred thousand supporters who converged on Sanath Jayasuriya Stadium IN Matara said the Southern voters who have been always patriotic should teach the bitterest lesson to those who insult Sri Lanka by trying to destroy the good image of the country in front of the world.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Some for narrow gains are trying to destroy the good name of the country. You must give the appropriate reply to them at the Southern Provincial Council elections,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ he said addressing the cheering crowds.
He said the government has provided all opportunities to hold an impartial interference free just election this time and he appealed to the people to take a correct decision for the uplift of the country.
He said the heroic soldiers have emancipated the country from the most atrocious terrorists of the world at the expense of their precious lives and limbs and nobody should be allowed to insult the very people who freed the country from a thirty year long curse. The President said in no other country in the world the army is allowed to be insulted in this manner.
By giving a proper reply to the very people who make wrong allegation against the country the voters could deliver the message to the world, the President said.
He said all arrangement have been made to hold a fair election on the tenth of this month.
He said everything has been done for the people to live in a society without any fear and suspicion.
Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva, Susil Premajayanth, Amir Ali, Dinesh Gunawardena, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Dew Gunasekera, Dulles Alahapperuma, Parliamentaian Wimal Weerawansa, leader of the Matara District Group Hemal Gunasekera and Mayor of Matara Upul Nishantha also addressed the rally.
