Dear Mr. Cohen,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am not sure whether you actually saw my email because it seems to me your reply was written by a primary school student not by a Parliament member because the answer did not make any sense and the person who wrote the email didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t know how to respond to an email in a professional manner. Leaving that to a side I would like to ask few questions, which I would prefer straight answers from you because you have mentioned that Tamils are living like concentrations camp condition in Sri Lanka at the moment.

1. If our Immigration Department in Australia open up a case in one of our detention centres either in Australia or in Christmas Island, how long will it take to process one refugee application?

2. Please name another country where people living in concentration camp condition (your interpretation) where they get fed three times a day and have banks to deposit millions of dollars and have shops for their convenience and schools for internally displaced children.

3. What mechanism do you have to send innocent people to unclear areas from mines? Are you going to take full responsibility about their welfare? If you wish to do so, please inform our government as soon as possible because they would love to hear from intelligent people like you who think and preach that they can solve the IDPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s issues overnight.

4. What sort of knowledge do you have about refugees in other parts of the world?

5. Did you raise your voice when thousands of innocent Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, MalayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s & Burgers were getting massacred by so called freedom fighters (LTTE thugs)? If you have please give me some examples.

6. How many times you have visited my motherland?

Please be kind enough to reply for the above questions, so that I can determine whether you are in fact a caring person for our Tamils brothers and sisters not a person who likes to be prominent to obtain votes from your electorate.

Yours sincerely,

James Jayalath

I thought your opening line was a bit harsh but after reading Ian Cohen’s reply I thought that you had put it too mildly. On a positive note, if LTTE have to rely on people (read morons) of this caliber now then that says a lot about their position in the Western world.

  2. Nihal Fernando Says:

Has this guy Cohen ever gone to a school before going to the Parliament?

  3. aravinda Says:

Most of the 12 year old kids in IDP camps in Sri Lanka could write better english. Mr.Cohen, if that email was written by you , you are a bloody disgrace. Go back to school.

  4. jay-ran Says:

James, u r absolutely correct. It looks like that Cohen’s email has been written by a student in TN who do not possess much education facilities. If poor Tamilians adopt to follow this type of politicos, such followers would be sent to HELL saying its HEAVEN.
