President MahindaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s road to victory was of ones bravery.
When the LTTE was cornered, several times by Generals of the Past, the West opposed and they were saved. But Mahinda went a step ahead by getting the support of the Muslim world and the Chinese. These factors kept the west on their place. Secondly Mahinda had to appoint a son of the moon-shiners as a General as he knew the fields and the trade. When the war was won and the battles were done; the son of the moon-shiners forgot that he was a son of the defeated. The truth makes the final way of victory and therefore it became a historical fact on the 27th of January 2010.

I am not sure I agree wholly with what you write. But there is no doubt that President Rajapakse and his brother the Defence Secretary showed rare courage in standing firm against the pressure brought to bear on them by powerful nations like the UK and France to stop fighting when victory was almost won. The brothers did not waver in their determination to finish off the Tigers and for that alone we must salute the brothers and always remain grateful.
