Mr. Nicholson,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ http://www.caritas.org/newsroom/press_releases/PressRelease10_02_10.html

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Regarding your article in CARITAS with subject topic on Feb 10th 2010, let me remind you that the Vatican, the Anglican and Catholic Church, the Buddhist Temples or the Buddhist Monks, or any other religious dignitary has absolutely no business in Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s politics.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lankan Bishops, Archbishops and Buddhist Monks, must preach their sermons and discuss religious matters within the perimeters of houses of worship in Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Interestingly, the Catholic Bishops Thomas Savundaranayagam of Jaffna, Kingsley Swampillai of Trincomalee and Batticaloa, Rayappu Joseph of Mannar are Tamil nationals who openly sustained and supported LTTE Terrorists. Catholic Bishop Norbert Andradi of Anuradhapura and Anglican leaders Kumara Illangasinghe, Vicar General of Kurunegala and Duleep de Chickera, Bishop of Colombo were outspoken supporters of LTTE, or rather, who NEVER criticized, denounced nor condemned the barbaric, inhuman atrocities done by LTTE, by its namesake.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ However, they now have the audacity to condemn the Presidential poll held Jan 26th, where their puppet Ranil Wickramasinghe and his crony Sarath Fonseka lost unprecedentedly!! What an irony!! What contradiction!!! What a paradigm shift!!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This further proves and consolidates the fact that the Western Colonial masters, The Vatican, Christian/Catholic leadership and the opposition parties of Sri Lanka are all in

the business of destabilizing this little nation to the advantage of rendering Sri Lanka under their exclusive control. GSP+, IMF, World Bank and NGOƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s are all parts of the same animal ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” it is no secret.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Despite your claim that these ignorant Bishops have indicated that the majority Tamils could not vote, open your eyes and open their slumbering eyes to see and hear the reality!! These innocent Tamil people were liberated from the clutches of LTTE terrorists who dragged away their children and placed their lives on the Suicide Jacket or the cyanide capsule, by the Re-Elected President Mahinda Rajapakse.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now I come to the very important point: DID THESE BISHOPS ALREADY FORGET WHO ASKED THE TAMILS IN THE NORTH AND EAST NOT TO VOTE DURING THE PREVIOUS ELECTION, THAT RESULTED IN THEIR PUPPET RANIL WICKRAMASINGHE TO LOSE? WAS IT NOT THEIR ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-HUMANE PET BOYƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ VELUPILLAI PRABHAKARAN?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These BishopsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ very foundation on their statements is corruptive, contradictory and insulting to the democratic fabric of Sri Lankan society.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Bishops also requested the Catholics of Sri Lanka to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-vote for CHANGEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ just short of mentioning a name; we all know Sarath FonsekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s campaign slogan of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-the believable changeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

People of Sri Lanka has taken a vote and one party won, while the other party lost. It is ironic that your article coincides with the fact that the side supported by the Christian and Catholic clergy and Christian-Liberalized Western/international community was the losing side.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr. Nicholson, if you have no voting rights in Sri Lanka, then you do not any more rights to criticize the majority-rules principle of Democracy, practiced to the wordƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s definition in Sri Lanka on January 26th 2010. The UN Chief Ban Ki Moon and several other countries including the EU and the USA and Russia have declared that the election was held according to the rules of the land and that the vote is perfectly valid and qualified, and the winner is a WINNER with a massive lead. Yes, a LEAD too large for you to handle, as it was the rural peasants, farmers and hard-working folks, tired of a terrorist war that YOU and Western Christian countries nurtured and sustained for over 30-years b lowing their kith and kin to bits, that WON the election! Must be hard for CARITAS to handle the fact that Westernized, club-hopping, stock-market savvy, BMW/Mercedes driving, fashionable yuppies of ColomboƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s skyline hung on Western Crusaders and their latest crusading tactic called Liberalism, was DEFEATED by 17% majority.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Five Hundred and Five (505) years of invading Crusaders from Portugal, Holland (the Netherlands) and the Britain could not wipe out or convert the Sinhala Heritage and its patriotism. Today, people with every religion, every ethnic origin and every caste thinkable live in Sri Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” some as majority and some as minority ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” in peace and harmony. They DEFEATED the worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s worst terrorists and stop their entire destruction of this little island nation.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Not just Catholic Priests, even the Chief Buddhist prelate and other monks have taken sides with the politics and several monks work as members of the parliament ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” They should all be de-robed removed from priesthood and leave Sri Lanka to be governed by politicians elected by democratic vote.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka will rise from the destruction caused by terrorism, without any help from Western Nations. Its current president Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse will guide that nation out of the woods with care, foresight, passion, and love for the people and the country.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As I always believed and stress, Sri Lanka belongs to Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, Buddhist, Catholic, Christian, Hindu, BohraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s, MalayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s. It does not belong to cunning opportunists like you who drive wedges between ethnic and religious communities in developing countries.

  1. aravinda Says:

    Mahinda 58%, Sarath 40%, 20 Others 2%.

75% voted in the election, 1% invalid votes.

Internaional election observers and Election commissioner have praised the election process saying it was very fair. Time to move on. There are more pressing issues in Sri Lanka than grieving over Fonseka’s election loss. It is true so called Western countries invested hundreds on millions of dollars on Mr.Fonseka. Sri Lankans proved that they can not be fooled anymore. They voted for the man who united Sri Lanka after 505 years. Well done Sri Lanka.
