Rt Hon David Miliband,
MP for South Shields & Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Dear Mr Miliband

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am writing to protest on your recent support ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ at the Global Tamil Forum which is a front for the banned terrorist organisation, LTTE, of Sri Lanka. Their agenda remains the same ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” a separate state for the Tamils in Sri Lanka which I believe you are fully aware.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  How would you like if a Sri Lankan Foreign Minister came over to the UK and addressed the IRA or even the SNP with supportive words ? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am a Sri Lankan born UK citizen, resident and a Labour voter for over many years.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And this kind of act just to get the votes of Sri Lankan Tamils offends me.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Responsible politicians are not expected to pander to the selfish demands of any Dick, Tom or Harriet for the sake of their votes but to guide them with sound advice based on what is right.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Sadly that has not happened here.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  If Tamils want a separate state based on their Tamil ethnicity, that has to be in the place of their ethnic origin ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” ie the state of Tamil Nadu in India where their majority are and NOT in Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is your responsibility when asked to tell them so, instead of undertaking to campaign for them. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Your action has incensed many people including me.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It would be instructive for you to read the letter of Mar 11, 2010 buy the 118 member Non Aligned Movement (NAM) ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to the UN and Navi Pillai the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If Navi Pillai is unable to ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ leave her Tamil ethnicity behind when doing a professional job she should be removed from it. She is selectively sponsoring protests and targeting Sri Lanka in keeping with her personal prejudices which have no place under the UN flag.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Further, please note the Sri Lankan Government’s comment therein: ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ “… the (proposed) investigation is both unprecedented and unwarranted as no such action had been taken about other (member) states with continuing armed conflicts on a large scale, involving major humanitarian catastrophes and causing the deaths of large numbers of civilians due to military action” – the missing words here are ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”US, UK and downright Hypocrisy’ !!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
