Please have a heart

Having wonƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  thundering victories one after the other, is the government going on a spree of getting peopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ire?

As it is the nature is playing havoc with the poor. One day they have the sweltering heat, and next day they have torrential rain with floods. Business come to standstill, people loose houses, crops and lives. Now and then you hear of horrible accidents.

On top of these, government has suddenly gone berserk trying to drive people in droves towards ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ crime.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  One day the pavement hawkers are driven away, with no alternative earning ways made for them. UntilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the new venue comes up how are they supposed to survive? How are their children going to eat or ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ go to school? How ?

Next they go and stop all the vendors in private buses overnight. They were allowed to do so for years and it was considered legitimate. Now suddenly they have to find alternative means of income. How?

We all know what poverty can do to men. Do the authorities who make these dumb decisions ever seen their own children cry out of hunger? Obviously not. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If they have, they will know that a sincere loving father will do anything ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” I mean anything- to see they are fed a morsel. What alternative are we giving them except stooping down to stealing and cheating?

Then they get this bright idea of drivingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  innocent people away from their homes ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”before making alternativeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  homes available to them ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” in the name of beautifying the city. What was the indecent hurry to beautify the city, one might ask? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The decision makers must be made to go love in the temporary homes provided to them one day- they will see the suffering of these poor people.

It is no secret that the president is grooming his son to be the next leader of the country. Unless the present government think very carefully how they treat the people ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”specially theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  weak and the down trodden, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the tears and curses of the poor will certainly going to leave a very sorry state for the son to inherit.

Namal, son, youƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢d better watch out what sort of country you are going to be handed over!

Thank you. unfortunately the middle classes in SL in their greed have lost the human qualities of compassion.

  2. PRIYAN WIJEYERATNE Says:

Please listen Ms. Raffai, the Government would look after the poor. However, do not expect the poor to hinder progress and particularly the streets. We must keep our neighbourhood clean always including your own front and back yards. You know what Prophet Mohammed taught you, “Cleanliness is just next to Godliness”. Have you forgotten that my dear Lady?

    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT….
WHEN THE RAINS COME DOWN IN TORRENTS BUT WHILE COOLING THINGS OFF, CAUSE FLOODS,
    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT
WHEN PAVEMENT HAWKERS BLOCK THE ROADS AND PEDESTRIANS GET KNOCKED DOWN BY PASSING VEHICLES
    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT
WHEN THE PAVEMENT HAWKERS ARE REMOVED AND THE ROADS ARE CLEARED
    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT…
WHEN CITIZENS DUMP GARBAGE ON THE STREET DESPITE WARNING NOTICES DISPLAYED PROMINENTLY,
    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT!
WE WANT INSTANT PROGRESS & DEVELOPMENT AND WHEN IT DOES NOT HAPPEN
    WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT

WE JUST LIKE TO BLAME THE GOVERNMENT FOR EVERYTHING THAT GOES WRONG!!

  4. Rishard Says:

Priyan Wijeratne and Nilwala should learn about compassion:

If it is their children that cry for food when the parents are forcibly and suddenly taken out of the souce of their livelihood then they will ‘learn about compassion’

If it is their children that cry for shelter when the parents are forcibly and suddenly evicted then they will ‘learn about compassion’

If it is their families that are victimized due to the unprecedented crimes that are happening now then they will ‘learn about compassion’

‘COMPASSION CAN BE BLINDED BY UNDUE PERKS AND FAVORS RECEIVED BY CERTAIN PEOPLE FROM THE POWERS THAT CREATE HUMAN MISERY’ Rishard
