Colombian is not just a city dweller; he/she is a believer, an enforcer of an unscrupulous immoral political ideology of the west

Rajapakse, regional politics, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Eurocentric DevelopmentalismƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and the western hegemony (Part 8-E)

Who is Colombian? Is he just a city dweller, like Londoner, Parisian or New Yorker? No, not at all!!!! He is a believer; in that sense, he is a tenant of an ideological space. Colombo is not only a geographical space, but also a diabolical ideological space, that dominating the whole nation including very lives living in remote corners of the land. That is the political space where, very often, this Colombian takes decisions to throw sand into the rice of the rural masses in the north and the south.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When we take Colombo as a geographical space, we can see that there are so many different people living there. There are Matara people, Kandyans, Jaffna people, Baticaloa people, up country Tamils, other minority people and foreigners. But in the ideological space of Colombo, the symbolic space that link present into the ignominious colonial past, there are very few, only a minority living there. The dweller of this colonially bestowed ideological space is the one we identify as Colombian; and that is the space he is living in. Therefore it is very clear that Colombian is not a dweller but an idealist. He is not just an inhabitant, but an active political animal, believing corrupt western policies as the only remedy for our ailments, and a ruthless enforcer of such policies. He is the chosen one by his western god, for implementation of western policies of civilization, culture, development, war and peace upon us, in the absence of the western god. He is the worshiper, paying homage to all western concepts discarding all local ones. He envisions the world including Sri Lanka through his cultivated ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”blueƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ eyes. He is not hesitant to enforce his will and vision through force if needed; no matter how much it costs, like the lost of young lives in the south in 1989. He is the one who identified the grievances of the youth in the south as terrorism and at the same time, violence in the north as just cause- although both grievances were his own making. (These grievances were the results of Colombian politics of their Tamil version in the north and their Sinhala version in the south) He is the one who thinks Buddhist ideology in politics is an obstacle to liberal democratic progress.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He is the one who think that GSP must be used to teach one or two lessons to Sri Lankans, in order to achieve lasting peace. He is the one who believe that our armed forces must be taken to war crime tribunals in Europe, in order to teach a lesson to Sri Lankans for not adhering their western masterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s rules, as they call them ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-universal conventions of human rightsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. They are the people think that Rajapakses have committed a huge crime against humanity by defeating terrorism going against western dictates. They are the people who believe our motherland must be divided on racial lines. They are the people who believe that Sri Lanka can be developed through garment industry. They are the people who believe that World Bank and IMF are there to eradicate poverty from underdeveloped countries. They are the people who believe that paddy cultivation of Sri Lanka must be abandoned to uplift the lives of rural masses. They are the people who believe that water resources must be privatized in Sri Lanka, including ancient reservoirs. They are the people believed that Rajapakse must be removed immediately after the war and Ranil must takeover. They are the people amplifying NGO HR chorus and demeaning the nationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s image world over. They are the people who crying for R2P to save Sri Lankan nation from the alleged despotic regime of president Rajapakse.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They are the people reinventing and redecorating western lies in the local and the global. They are the people apologizing aggressive foreign offices of the west without the nationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s consent. They are the people think that ministry of Foreign Affairs must be given to a person more suitable to sing a song like ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Piyapath sala mama oba soya emi rayeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and who carrying handkerchiefs, as if these persons have something to wipe all the time.

They are the people thought LTTE was invincible therefore must be given whatever the terrorists demand. They are the people thought that Indian army can deliver peace for Sri Lankans. In short, they are the ones believe we must displace our sovereignty into foreign offices of the west for the benefit of us.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This Colombian neither a Sinhalese nor a Tamil, not even English. (At this point I typed ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”anƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in front of English to see the computer to command an error. For a moment for me to think that there is no ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”anƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ English, there can be only ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”theƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ English, proving that Priyantha Abeywickrama was right when he described about the English) He start the day having a breakfast with ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”POL-ROTTIƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ with ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Lunu-MirisƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ using fork and knife. I had a friend in Sri Lanka, (I hope he wouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t see this article) came to a cafeteria every morning and had Pol-Roti with Lunu-mris observing every single English dinning manners, making every others to chuckle silently seeing him struggling to handle it with fork and knife. He did this with an utmost sense of pride. I had a soft corner about his mental condition, but really chuckled seeing him being proud of it. In a way he was in the same class of a white guy, who also came to the same restaurant and had a bowl of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Parippu-HodiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (Dahl curry) like a soup with a spoon while eating Papadum- like having chips. He also did it with utmost sense of pride like my friend did. They enjoyed the liberty of messing- up with Sri Lankan culture denying the same right for Punchi Appuhamy to mess-up with their European culture. This is the same arrogant and arrogating rule, the double standard they apply in their application of Human Rights rules upon us. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Colombian, who identifies him/herself by a Sinhala or Tamil name, does not identify him/herself with their respective indigenous culture. They have abandoned their own race and culture and have adapted an alien culture as their own. This alien culture has been instrumental for the solidarity between every race within Colombian minority culture.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Due to the uprooting from their respective race and culture, they think they are not under any obligation to their past or the present of their fellow native cultures. They become Sinhalese or Tamil only when they come to politics to fool the native.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Eventually they have considered them as a different race within the nation of Sri Lanka. This Colombian race have proved, they have different culture, different language, different political ideology, different economical policy, different values, different ethics, different human rights policy, different view of war and peace etc. etc. All their policies are identical to the policies of their external centers in the west. They were hell bent on degenerating armed forces when they were fighting against terrorism, they shared same opinions on national issues, articulated same identical thoughts, it could be Louis Arbour, Pillai, Milband, Ranil, Radihika, their NGOsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  or ordinary Colombians.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Under above condition can anyone say that the enemy of the nation is not living in Colombo but living in Jaffna? Why people still trying to divert our attention to wrong directions when all evidences are there to prove that all problems of the nation instigating from this minority political/cultural enclave of Colombo. This is the distribution center of all problems island-wide by this bunch of morons comprising culturally alien Tamils and Sinhalese. It is a tremendous necessity to reveal how this enclave messing with the nationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s future.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ At the same time I must stress the fact that there can be many people living in Colombo, who also speaks English, but still not sharing Colombian hegemonic politico-cultural ideology; under such conditions, they do not falling within the category of Colombians whom under our investigation. It is not too late even for the die-hard Colombians to rethink about their disastrous political strategies that go against our national interests, and to come back into this single fold of Sri Lankan nation for the welfare of our motherland.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lankan national issue and its related terrorism is a colonial problem. Currently this has been running by various partners in this business assortment called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”ethnic studiesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”conflict resolutionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”post conflict reconciliationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and under many more names in Sri Lanka and metropolitan centers of the world; both funded by the west. These specific ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”hybridƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ beasts in NGOs and INGOs can be Tamils, Sinhalese, any other South Asian nationals or westerners. In Sri Lanka, for their lingua-cultural relationship with the west, Colombians have become majority representatives of this lucrative business. This business has been a major entrepreneurship for the educated thieves of almost all south Asian countries, and is mushrooming especially in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. To be qualified to be in this business, your fluency in English language will not be desirable. The foremost qualification is oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s belief in above said Colombian ideology. That is the thin line differentiates the Colombian from non Colombian although both are living in Colombo or elsewhere. In that sense one can find a Colombian in Galle or in Jaffna as well. But they all are connected to this single nucleus that generated this ideology in Colombo.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Although some NGO supper agents are coming from rural areas, and not from Colombo, still we consider them as Colombians, due to their ideological relationship for sharing and executing western neo-conservative agenda, against the sovereign nation of Lanka. Ideologically they identify themselves with the Colombo based as Mr. Gunadasa AmerasekaraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s says, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”ThuppahiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ ideology; or colonized political ideology. Physically most of them live in Colombo and also in other western cities of the world.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Polarization between Colombian ideology and the native ideology came on to the surface and clashed face to face during every crucial occasion of our post colonial history, including just concluded Presidential election. In every occasion, Jaffna people were used as the pawns and bait of these conspirators; Jaffna people were the object that showcasing their predicament against Sri Lanka. The ideological formulations of existing and non existing problems, and formulating future strategies, creating slogans, pressurizing the administration, messing-up public opinion, all these tasks were predominantly performed by outsiders under the guise of the saviors of Jaffna people. But none of these saviors have ever asked Jaffna people of what they really want. But although Jaffna peopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s real grievance was to get out of the pol-potist regime in the pre-Nanthikadal politics, these saviors never heard it. I think what President said in the interview with Al-Jazeera was right. He said, what Jaffna people want is not what all these NGOs telling us; what they really want is peace, and prosperity. To my mind Jaffna people are the fist to say ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”noƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ for any more wars, anymore divisive politics. When I say Jaffna people, they are not the Tamil politicians living in Colombo; actually Tamil politicians operating from Colombo become a part of the Colombian cast. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Western Neo-Colonial military instrument was defeated in Nathikadal

About a year prior to the defeat of the LTTE, in June 2008, writing under the name Keerthi Godayaya I said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦the threat to our sovereignty will never disappear in post LTTE politics, since the epicenter of the real threat is originating somewhere else.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items08/150608-1.html

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And also I said in the first article of this series,

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦It must be clear by now; the fundamental to all systems of power equilibrium in the global arena is the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-fear factor.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ West cannot afford to lose their grip slowly developed through last five hundred years, just by watching this mockery by a mere third world country like Sri Lanka. Rajapakse administration cannot be unaware of this factor when they took bold decisions to challenge itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ (From western point of view)If this tendency was not nipped in the bud right now the future will be chaotic. What ever the outcome, west has to do something, as a counter display of consequences of being disobedient to the western global authority. It is a matter of teaching a lesson, setting an example, not just for Sri Lanka, but for the whole worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

Then in the same article I said ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦In politics, the creative spirit demands a tremendous courage to take risks; all remarkable politicians in the world history were as audacious as they were fearless risk takers. Sometime of course, creative destruction helps to build new foundations. In fact, colonial Sri Lanka has been built on a fake structure that has been reached to its limits. In order to go into future, SL ought to demolish not only this fictitious structure itself, but also its ruins. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items/2010/03/29/rajapakse-regional-politics-%E2%80%9Ceurocentric-developmentalism%E2%80%9D-and-the-western-hegemony-part-i/

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Colombo represents this fictitious structure. This fake city is housing its fake ideology. In order to demolish this fake city, first thing to do is to establishing a commission to identify all colonial structures and their apparatus in our administrative and social structures and demolish them. The most important historical task overdue is a decolonization of Sri Lanka. Without doing it, not only Rajapaksas but even any other indigenous native can never rule this land. They will never allow it. IƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ll explain this concept more when I discuss about how Tamils have turned the traditional dichotomy in the binary of oppressor and the oppressed upside down later. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What I meant in the first article in 2008 was that the separatist ideology was originated and cultivated not in Jaffna but elsewhere. For that reason, defeating LTTE will mark only the removal of a tool, but the hand that was holding the tool, will still be remaining in post war Sri Lanka with its divisive political maneuverings. Current affaires have proved separatism is not made in Jaffna but in Colombo and metropolitan centers of the west. Jaffna was just only the playing field, (like El Alamein in Egypt, where Germans and the allied forces met each other) but although forces had met there, the case for the war was made elsewhere. If we think that the war that Sri Lanka fought was between LTTE and SL forces, we must be dreadfully misguided. It was a battle between Sri Lanka and the neo-colonial powers; they battled very hard to establish their regional foothold in the east of Sri Lanka to hegemonize whole south Asia and Indian Ocean. Having no other alternatives, Sri Lanka fought for her mere survival and she won. It was not LTTE that was defeat in Nanthikadal, but western neo-colonistƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s hegemonic agenda that was defeated there. Now the latest battle is between the hidden-hand (not the tool) and the nation of Sri Lanka. She is battling to consolidate her victory, but opposing it, the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”handƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is trying very hard to mess-up her victory and her effort to consolidate her position by way of reconciliation. But the west never want to see Sri Lanka to settle down, therefore keeps the iron hot by threatening to take Sri Lanka to war crime tribunals. They issue statements in regular intervals, bring allegation after allegation, doctoring videos, and hiring so-called experts to drop their jaw bones. In those days when these westerners dropped their jaws, our servile politicians put sugar in their mouths. So they came back and dragged our politicians by their ears to printout what were wrong and right. But this time President Rajapakse delivered a whole lot of black-pepper into this open western mouth when he faced Al-Jazeera interview. The way he approached the interview and the answers given, are the best examples that showcase the difference between Colombian ethics and native ethics. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Today through ICG report, we are witnessing exactly what I said in the second article. The report saysƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The Sri Lankan optionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” a tough military response, a refusal to countenance a political solution, the dismissal of international concerns and a willingness to kill large numbers of civilians ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” has been discussed as an answer to insurgencies and violent groups in a number of countries including Israel, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Colombia and the PhilippinesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

This reveals that separatism is not dead. If separatism was defeated in Nantikadal, we must be able to sleep in peace by now. But soon after we killed the tiger what happened? All of a sudden we were knocked into a Jurassic Park, full of carnivorous dinosaurs roaring ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Human RightsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ while chewing human copses and bones between their jaws; double tongued reptiles.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now who supported this hegemonic neo-colonial agenda of the west? Was that Tamil speaking general public of Jaffna or Anglophone colonized minority among the affluent Colombians of Sinhalese and Tamils living in Colombo? Who keeps the separatist idea alive, Tamils in Jaffna or English speaking Tamils and Sinhalese living in Colombo? Who are these NGO vultures? Are they general public of Jaffna or the Tamils and Sinhalese among Colombians? Who are the fact finders, conspirators working overtime to take our armed forces into war crime tribunals in Europe? Are they Tamils living in Jaffna or Tamils and Sinhalese living in this Colombian mafia enclave? What is the real reason behind these attempts of finger pointing toward Jaffna, while well knowing the fact that culprits are living among us? Does any body think that they can throw sand into our eyes? Now let me emphasize again you my brother, Sinhalese and Tamils are smart enough to understand these agendas. They know somebody wants to keep this grinding mill running for ever. They do not want to see us living in peace. But for us, enough is enough.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But unfortunately, some obvious things are not so obvious for some people. Among those people, the ones who are pretending to be misguided are the most dangerous. There is a Sinhala saying that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-you can wake the one who genuinely sleeping, but you can never waken the one who pretending to be sleepingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Having said that I must stress, those who claim to have ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”fully graspedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ the situation still have to grasp the vital part of it. If this ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”fully graspingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ means the naivety of the bull in the ring that is reacting to the moving red flag, then of course, I do not want to be affiliated myself with so-called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”full graspƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, but rather happy to be in my ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”not fully graspedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ positionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ from where I can see the hand behind the red flag.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What we witness now is that any attack on ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”canonsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in post colonial cultures sparks conflicted feelings and bitterness. Colonial subjectivity is suffering from inferiority complex, critiquing about it, is like talking about cast system in a society that is divided by cast up to its very core. In Sri Lankan society, whoever initiates a discussion of cast, automatically will be ascribed as a low cast member. This is common situation in any culture of any given hegemony. This situation makes not only the listener embarrassed, but also the speaker embarrassed by the content. Because the assumption behind this notion is that, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-unless you are a low cast member, you have no reason to bring this subject matter into focusƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. And when the genuine low cast members want to debate about the issue, their voice will be marginalized. That is the design of the way how this works.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Colombian cultural hegemony is based on the notion of superiority of this alien ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”minority cultureƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ of the Colombian. Widespread notion of this cultural superiority keeps people in inferiority complex for them to be suspicious of self, therefore seeking mental refuge through identifying themselves with this presumed high culture of Colombian in every opportunity they come across. They try to be a part of this belief of the alien culture that is said to be higher than any other indigenous cultures of the land. If anyone criticizes it, then the critic usually get the branding of a disgruntled ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”godayaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ wining for their jealousy of being unable to reach to the cultural superiority of these Colombians have reached.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This grotesque social reality of any culture that practiced marginality and dominance is the exact reason why Bodhisatwa had to consider ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Pas Maha BalumƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ five great perspectives, (five great viewpoints) before he came into being in this world, to battle all sorts of marginality in ancient India. What Lord Buddha did in India against marginality was then followed by Jesus Christ when he attacked the hegemony of Jewish Rabbis in synagogues in ancient Israel. Why Bodhisatwa needed to be born as a Kshathriya cast member to fight against marginality to begging with, why not a Kshudra? Why he needed to be a Shakhyan, why not any other clan member? Because he knew that in Hindu India, marginality derived from their very foundation of religious belief system. It was hard for Kshudra to fight against a religious institution and its beliefs; not only fighting against it, but even creating discursive ground for this subject matter was even impossible task for him in India. If Gouthama Buddha was born in Kshudra cast and battled against cast system, we Buddhist might have been considering ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”DharmachakraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, not as the signifier of eight fold path of Buddhism, in other words, the “Wheel of Dharma” or “Wheel of Law”, but in the same significance and the meaning of the cross for the Christians (it is the SL police interpretation of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”DharmachakraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢). For that reason Ambedkar had to convert himself into Buddhism to get out of his nailed position in cast ridden Hindu society of India. In doing so, he exited from Hindu universe, which was the root cause giving currency to this most inhuman logic of cast system in India. If you believe in Hinduism, you have no way-out, but to accept its cast system. But if you reject the entire philosophy outright, then you will become exterior to its logical framework. In relation to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Pas maha balumƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, now readers must be able to understand why I decided to use western scholarship to counter Colombian cultural hegemony.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Having said that, I would like to point out that it is equally similar to the situation of the expression of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”sour grapes.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ If you believe in the superiority of the alien minority culture, and also if you are disappointed of being failing to get access to it, then of course ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”sour grapesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ can be relevant to you. As I said earlier, if you are not within the framework of admiring this alien minority culture, and certainly if this grapes are not in anyway of your interest, then not only sour grapes, even their rotten grapes are falling out of your universe. If you believe in it, only you become a part of it.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This Colombian class is the boorish band thought that proficiency of English is the gauge to measure oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s intelligence. Unfortunately some of our readers also had used the same marginalizing tool against another commenter saying ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Your own English do not support your wiser claimƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ as if he believed that one need to know good English to claim to be wise. According to this ladder of wisdom, the queen Elizabeth of England must be the wisest brain of all brains on this planet.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But the evidence in the resent history ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”doesnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t support this Colombian wiser claim,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ but proves the opposite. J. R. Jayawardane was well known for his eloquence in English language, but his stupidity brought the nation to its knees, and to the threshold of disaster culminating the situation leaving the burden of a foreign military occupying one third of the island when he retired. It was our less eloquent president, therefore less intelligent one, President Premadasa who even did not have qualifications to be in Colombian class, got rid of the mess of JRJ. Then when all our eloquent super brains of Colombians were advocating defeatism, who had guts to take-on that megalomaniac terrorist Prabhakaran, knowing very well that if failed, it was sure ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”LunumirisƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢? Did Ranil have such moral-fiber? Let along taking-on Prabhakaran by him, he even frightened to use the term ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”terroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ when he referred Prabhakaren. Just give me ten names among Colombian class who at least has guts to face a typical man to man physical fight on the street. They are all ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”sevala babasƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ arenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t they? All they do is hiring ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Bath-gottasƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ to do their dirty work. See how their all political masterminds among Colombians have got confused about the roles of the pimp and the politician? When they were given to play politics, they perform pimpƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s role out-there. When they are really doing their pimp job in Colombo as usual, then they try to play politics with us.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For me, their ideal model of modern man, the stylish English gentleman, the hero inspired Colombian life for decades, is a pimp, a hermaphrodite. He is the hero of Royal Thomean culture, not for us. (He used to be the hero even for us when we were ignorant, but not anymore) How can we expect these hermaphrodite worshipers to take on worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s deadliest terrorist, other than becoming the cabbage part of the terrorist? English is not a yardstick to measure oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s wisdom sir, instead if your body doesnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t posses required immune, it causes brain damage. It is the boorish thinking of the old school of Royal and Thomean; a concept must be kicked in the butt and throw it into the Beira Lake at nearest point ASAP.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Geethanjana – is it Colomban or Colombian – this elite group(you need to be English speaking, there simply cannot be an elite among Sinhala speaking. Don’t even think of it!) in our Sri Lankan society – I am confused? To arrive at a correct derivative of a residence in Colombo is no easy task. But who ever who invented the word needs to be commended. We too may have murdered the language of the Mad Cow ourselves when we led our lives over there, in Colombo, however with fine tuning living among the English speaking we now can safely state that we pronounce English correctly, although the Colombans are fairly confident that they too pronounce English, atleast slightly better than the Indians. Just listen to the Royalist Ranil speaking in Parliament a marked contrast to Lalith, Laxman or SWRD.
The seeds the Anglo Saxon planted in most countries have grown into quite massive trees with branches spreading in all directions. Their views about the English language as the world language, their Protestant denomination denouncing Catholism at every twist and turn, views about Lesbian/Gay liberalism, Human Rights, are supposed to be the most civilised developments in the 20-21st century the man kind has ever seen, while excusing them for being paedophiles, mass murderers, serial killers, arsonists, and dominating the think tank of most weaker countries consiting of spineless politicians and bureacrats. Yes their following in every country do dominate the direction the specific country is heading, like at the present trend in the country creating yet again an English speaking class with the re-introduction of the English Medium. Our villagers too should begin speaking in English and thats the view of the former Education Minister our friend Susil who was one of the worst Education Ministers we ever had. This confused man simply ruined the Standard of Education in Sri Lanka as he was a pawn of the Mother Superiors and Nuns(who bans girls speaking in Sinhala in schools!!) in Sri Lanka. I sincerely hope SB and Bandula will take corrective measures or at least apply breaks on this foolish move and instill in every Sri Lankan that English is not the panacea for the country’s ills, as Colombans think, but shear dedication, hardwork and wisdom with a good solid education in Sinhala or Tamil (English as a subject to be used as a tool is ok), which the neo Sinhalaya lost some 500 years go. Thank you for your genuine article and your effort to read my comments. Each of your sentences reach my brain like articles. I like this web site because there are intelligent people who speak out their minds, a good source of study material. Unfortunately, I have to caution you that our behaviour without restraints also opens up another window to show others what we do not have inside our minds.

It is interesting to note the following part of your article though it reflects much more than what is said. Quote “This Colombian class is the boorish band thought that proficiency of English is the gauge to measure one’s intelligence. Unfortunately some of our readers also had used the same marginalising tool against another commenter saying “Your own English do not support your wiser claim” as if he believed that one need to know good English to claim to be wise. According to this ladder of wisdom, the queen Elizabeth of England must be the wisest brain of all brains on this planet.” Unquote. You are perfectly right when you say proficiency in English is the most powerful tool in marginalising people. ( I add ”Their manners do the rest.” Why? Why? Why?) But you ignore the fact that it was used on someone who used the same tool in typical Colombian style to marginalise Kith who made a very legitimate comment. Within English speaking community, those who speak in favour go unpunished, a rule that comes from the Queen if contemporary representative is symbolically used. They even offer honorary titles for such people. Bickering becomes an integral part of those who comply with that rule, vividly displayed in public confrontations within the native English community. The last sentence in the text is the most profound statement truly reflecting the English mind though you are yet to reach that level. I have to stop there as I have already told many things that I should not have told when making comments at this website.

I strongly advise you to read the comment that denigrated Kith for his comment using the concept that wiser are those proficient in English (while making mistakes by the same wise guy). Cutting pork on pig’s back is not an English proverb, but comes from Sinhala culture. Isn’t it? What you say and what you have in your mind may be two different things when using English. I have seen a lot of hair splitting arguments between natural English speakers on content and context.

Refer Colombo and Jaffna enemy thing, you have ignored the fact that the Colombian is a product of English occupation. Likewise, there was a Tamil occupation in the north. Though none try to call Anglicised (Colombians) as English, we tend to call the Tamilised as Tamil. The difference reflects on the skin colour, an essential identity character. Those in Jaffna want to extend Tamil Nadu to the rest of the country. Those in Colombo want to extend England to the rest of the country. I hope you get the picture.

Instead of bickering like English gentlemen, we have to simply identify Anglicised (Colombians) as anyone who use the English language and/or manners. That includes all including you and me. You are very narrow in your definition of Colombian. Anyone can become a Colombian by birth, by education, by mistake, by force, by accident, by conversion, by indoctrination, by deception, by being in such an environment, by choice, by nature, by pretension, etc. (Can you please try to add at least one additional mode of creating a Colombian). I became a Colombian by some of these including “by choice”. Please use your own article to describe yourself how you label yourself with some convincing arguments. Do you think that a puppy born to a dog couple should be put down just because it looks likes the dog variety? Can you please extend the same Challenge to describe the Current President, MR who advocate English as the THING (actually advised by your compatriot Sunimal Fernando who would jointly contribute to kill vulnerable Sinhala kids many times than that achieved by late VP)?

I admire you notion that colonial heritage must be wiped out. But there is a resulting vacuum that you must refer to. For some reason, I say that I can help fill that vacuum. It may sound strange, but just note it please. Let me add a note on what I would tell in Sinhala to Sinhala people. i.e. “All non-natives using English language as a tool of communication under whatever circumstances is an Anglicised (Colombian, dangerous criminal, unhuman – my word, barbarian etc.) and get rid of them first to solve your problems because it is the first humanitarian step”. Please describe my status too as a self-claimed Colombian.

When you say “X” is a pimp, a hermaphrodite” it is very dubious. With due respect to principles governing any language, I appreciate if you could explain the word usage. Proficiency of a language is a must to tell things that matter for or against. But, ignorance of the fact that English is the language of native English is a crime. To the extent we depart from English rules, we become marginalised and readers become lost.

Sorry for long comments in response to an intellectually rich article though a word or two (more often starting with F) could be enough for many other websites. I appreciate anyone asking clarifications to offer further assistance to reach into my mind. Since someone made a silly comment about my past comments recently related to another article, I add the following since I do not know how to give such Colombians a brain. I OPENLY CHALLENGE ANYONE TO PROVE ME WRONG USING EVEN A SINGLE SENTENCE I MADE AS MY COMMENTS.

Please watch one of the documentaries on English History prepared by English people. Available for sale. Please try to find the origin of English because you can reach the high heaven. What does the word “English” mean? Do you know it? Compare Water and Wathura for a change? They are the only people in Europe who had a profession based caste system and Lords/Commoners. Watch recent Queen Speech (try u tube, note the accent, horse cart ride, protocols etc.) and how the commoners are treated by the lords (they were commoners standing like commoners in the house of lords).

  3. Laxman GODEGAMA Says:

    Priyantha A.

The constitution recognises English as the link language to the world which is more and more linked together by English.

To survive and keep updated in science, technology, business etc, all Sri Lankans must acquire a working knowledge in English. Almost all higher education even in India is done in English. Since the current world economy is based more and more on knowledge, our younger generation, even in the remotest corner of the island, must acquire a perfect knowledge of English. This can easily be achieved by using low cost PC based educative systems.

For me, the class of people who wants majority of Sri Lankans to remain in misery – like during colonial times – are the Colombians. The colonial Tea/Rubber/Coconut economy brought slow death to millions of Sri Lankans who were being replaced by Tamil Nadu Tamils. Not withstanding, a few in Colombo whose descendants form the core of today’s Colombians, lived really well.

You say both English and Tamils were colonisers but from the 19th century onwards the Tamils were the cat’s (tiger’s) paw of the English ! ! !

  4. Priyantha Abeywickrama Says:

Thanks Laxman for reading my comment. Refer your comment, what is your source of the facts you collected to phrase the sentences. Do you think that these ideas were conceived in your mind due to knowledge you got by birth, by education, by mistake, by force, by accident, by conversion, by indoctrination, by deception, by being in such an environment, by choice, by nature, by pretension or by any other means. If they are not yours, all of you should believe me and follow what I tell for the reasons written below.

I make lengthy comments at this website (international) and another (local). The reason is to full fill my obligations and for fun (happiness). The reception I get from the local site is thousand times better than this one (if you work backward, it reflects the character of people). I do admire your desire to survive and keep up to date with knowledge. But, when it comes to English, I strongly recommend it as the most effective weapon to kill a person giving the best possible pain as long as possible. That is where we may differ. WHY? You use English. I use English. In fact, everybody visiting this site use English. Why I differ from all of you? Are you all surviving and up to date with knowledge? Please give me a break. We survive just because we are not yet dead and have something to eat everyday without assurance that we will have the same tomorrow. Our (excluding me) future is already dead. Children are strange and they look more like dead culturally, socially and personally. Our children inherited our fate by birth. But those visiting this site have a little bit of life since they tend to break the universal rule created by English that followers are 100% converts. I am making comments to help at least one soul to escape from their affirmed destination, extinction. Do you need evidence? Check out the predecessors who learnt English. Their second step is going to serve their masters in their land of hope. Third is to serve well as and when needed. When useless, death solves all our problems. So, you want to teach English to every Sri Lankan (including vast majority of Sinhala people). Are you suggesting that you act like me to kill them? Definitely you fail this time. Your masters could not do during their 133 year long occupation. How could you do it? This time you must be taught English by people like me to achieve the best results by me. Isn’t it?

All the people visiting this site consider themselves as educated and intelligent people. Do you know what they did to become educated and intelligent people? They exactly repeated what they were told, heaps and heaps of garbage (my word) and many of them reached first class level in that great act. Is that education or an intelligent act. Does it remind monkey with razor kind? If all of you are up to date in scientific/technological/economic knowledge (western), you should know people like me. Have you heard of me? Sorry. You may have heard something else based on what I said, but from an English man with an English name. Do you have any idea of what I have told? Don’t you think that all these so-called knowledgeable or educated people produced by English medium are just a bunch of pathetic idiots who are made to believe that they are the most educated and intelligent lot in the society. What a great achievement by English. No body should get angry because this is all about one of us telling about us, the absolute truth.

My impression is that you do not have strong legs. You want to follow English and then use India to justify that. I think that is the worst possible excuse anyone can find. NEVER EVER FOLLOW INDIANS. According to your comment, there is no world beyond English. What about others likes China, Russia, France, Germany etc. What about tiny nations that do not have grown up like rabbits. Do you think they are not relevant. How about Africa and the like. You think they got no knowledge. You are really charmed by a Malayali (English).

Sri Lankans remain in misery because the English government run by local English gentleman are just like you. They are just followrs and want someone to tell them what to do. They even go begging others to do things on their behalf to develop the country. Alas, English masters are going down and China is coming up. Don’t you think that we should learn Chinese now? When they are gone and Sinhala people come up, will you come back to earth and learn Sinhala? It sounds like a full circle. You talk about misery. Let me tell you about myself. I am thousand times better off if I am in Lanka because I have a loan-free home, friends and relatives to help when I am in difficulty, at least bare minimum resources to sustain myself even without serving a master and there is no one to push me around or to kick my ass to get the best out of me knowing very well that I will be the first to let go when they want to do so. Actually “I’ should be read as “all”. In that case I could be the least indebted man under the most trying circumstances who would survive another day.

Did you say pc? I thought you are aware that original hardware concept was based on local Thorana technology where electrical contact based drum was replaced by magnetisable drum. Software is based on the truncated decimal system. Have you thought about using the decimal system to build a pc or more? What about 3D view. Obviously you would go for the punky glasses to deceive yourself. Being already nose-deep in deception, it is ok. If you really want a 3D viewer looking like a box, don’t you think that you have to contact someone like me or some other planet. Please do not expect me to tell you because you will be knocking the doors of your English master pleading for a bread crumb in exchange for what you got from me.

You say “The constitution recognises English as the link language to the world”. I hope you are not referring to an UK Constitution. As far as I know they do not have such a thing, but an age-old monarchy. Did you mean the toilet paper roll made by JRJ? If it is the case, according to your own English language, it is supposed to be a sort of universal document that lay out how the country functions. So you have cut the rope even before the bungy jump. I mean universal becomes English only. What about people speaking other languages? That is the disease that English speakers suffering from. There is no cure. They must follow English to relieve the sin of living.

If Colombians are the cause of all ills, what we need is a simple piece of legislation to prevent discrimination to grab all their worth without any compensation and to turn them to paupers overnight living under quarantined conditions. I can help to administer English medicine that made them, in reverse order free of charge to make them what they should be. History is full of such turning of tables.

Tamils were, are and will be used as cat’s paw by the rich and powerful always. There is historical evidence that we too have used them as such and even as mercenaries to kill including our own.

Please have fun while reading, but take serious note of what I said because it is about life and death. I am still a Sri Lankan citizen and actually came back to the country in 1993 to proceed a case against the then government. I wish you know the name of my lawyer. Though my evidence was to be given in Sinhala according to the prevailing laws, I was granted a special permission to use both Sinhala and English languages to present my case when the judge realised my inability to understand questions raised by a PC in Sinhala (after warning me with serious consequences). I had the wonderful opportunity to see them use both languages to comply with law and to make me understand. Since that time, I have come a long way to tell this type of stories, and shortly, I will abandon English when I feel not guilty of continuing to help the miserable lot like you. I hope sooner I will tell what I got to offer though stuck in personally urgent matters at this stage. My solutions are brand new and offer insight to go back to where all went wrong to end up where we are. I hope at least a few of you be lucky or unlucky to enjoy life, the Sinhala way, living as Sinhala, without depending on anybody else’s compassion or handouts. For all, if help is needed to understand please ask for it than trying to insult me. Those (including a responsible Sinhala name bearing individual who has spent a life of digging others’ dirt as an inherited habit) who throw dirt at the wrong people should note that they will end up in the gutter filled with the same.

    Geet:
You are right in finding the COLOMBIAN menace in politics and economics of Sri lanka.

In India, there are thousands of language groups and 23 recognised language groups. English is surviving as LINK language between language based Indian federal States! SL people too can have the English as the second language or third for the communication with the rest of the world. Learning English does not mean following criminal colonial life styles. The legacy created by the Colonial rule must be eleminated through education.

Colombian mentality reflected in the last presidential elections. Foreign elements are still involved in the Sri lankan affairs through those COLOMBIANS. Catholic Church is another element co-ordinating Colombian menace from Jaffna to down south. But some Sinhalese trust NAZIS and their color and elimination theories because of their ignorance of their own history!

  6. Laxman GODEGAMA Says:

    Priyantha A,

Please do understand that we have no use of the originators of English. Today, English is a tool and it must be used as such for the betterment of all our people.

Be assuered, I know very well the beauty of the Singhala language, literature and the Buddha Dhamma taught in Singhala or Pali.

Another excellent piece by Geethanjana Kudaligamage.
And well said here, this is something i have been pointing out repeatedly, and something many Sinhalese are wilfully ignorant of or churn out excuses for, mostly due to mental slavery (not necessarily Colombian mentality but nevertheless a left over from European savagery here):

“…It must be clear by now; the fundamental to all systems of power equilibrium in the global arena is the “fear factor.” West cannot afford to lose their grip slowly developed through last five hundred years, just by watching this mockery by a mere third world country like Sri Lanka. Rajapakse administration cannot be unaware of this factor when they took bold decisions to challenge it…

… (From western point of view)If this tendency was not nipped in the bud right now the future will be chaotic. What ever the outcome, west has to do something, as a counter display of consequences of being disobedient to the western global authority. It is a matter of teaching a lesson, setting an example, not just for Sri Lanka, but for the whole world…”

Then in the same article I said …In politics, the creative spirit demands a tremendous courage to take risks; all remarkable politicians in the world history were as audacious as they were fearless risk takers. Sometime of course, creative destruction helps to build new foundations. In fact, colonial Sri Lanka has been built on a fake structure that has been reached to its limits. In order to go into future, SL ought to demolish not only this fictitious structure itself, but also its ruins.

What I meant in the first article in 2008 was that the separatist ideology was originated and cultivated not in Jaffna but elsewhere. It was not LTTE that was defeat in Nanthikadal, but western neo-colonist’s hegemonic agenda that was defeated there. Now the latest battle is between the hidden-hand (not the tool) and the nation of Sri Lanka. She is battling to consolidate her victory, but opposing it, the ‘hand’ is trying very hard to mess-up her victory and her effort to consolidate her position by way of reconciliation.

  9. Fran Diaz Says:

We thought President Rajapakse answered the questions asked of him by ‘Al Jazeera’ in a very sincere way. It was his sincerity that struck as powerful, as is his love for his country and all its people.

  10. M.S.MUdali Says:

    Raju:
I believe your thoughts on the HAND and TOOL from the start of this EELAM issue. WEST now make threats in order to bend for their demands.

Prez Mahinda will stand against all the powerful hands!
