ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If the pathetic press release from Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon’s office after the Tamil Tiger terrorists were militarily eliminated on May 18, 2009 without a congratulatory word when most foreign governments congratulated Sri Lanka for eliminating Tamil Tiger terrorism was anything to go by, itƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ showed that the Canadian government had no will to antagonize the GTA Tamils who demonstrated in tens of thousands on the streets of Ottawa and TorontoƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ wanting the Canadian government to save the Tamil Tigers from annihilation.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now Canada is caught in a vice with little wiggle room to get out of this continuing mess.

When NDP’s Olivia Chow has difficulty to acknowledge the pristineƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ acts respecting human rights in Sri Lanka when the Sinhalese of all people cooked a million meals a days to feed the 300,000 Tamils thrice a day,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who were rescued from the clutches of the Tamil Tigers and housed in temporary welfare camps, she is in no position to talk of human rights in Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And further it was her husband Jack Layton who disgustingly christened the megalomaniac and serial killer Velupillai Prabhakaran,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the leader of the Tamil Tigers,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to South Africa’s Nelson Mandela in front of 10,000 Tamils at Queens Park during a Ponghu Tamil celebration,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to sweeten the hearing of the Tamil ears in the GTA almost saying…Come on, give me your vote…I’ll speak for you people far better than the Liberals and the Conservatives.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This is how much the Tamil refugee issue is wrapped up in domestic politics.
