“It needs to be greatly as well as gratefully acknowledged that no terrorist act has taken place and no one has died due to the menace in Sri Lanka since the end of LTTE war last year “, in the words of a top military commander and speaks volumes for what the Rajapaksha Administration. has accomplished for the Nation and no greater acheivement by any other self styled benefactor whose testimonials sometimes get highlighted by certain eloquent( for all the wrong reasons!) pundits continuously attempting to discredit the Rajapaksha Regime, can surely override this.

THE PRESIDENT AND HIS TEAM HAVE DELIVERED SRI LANKA FROM HER WORST ENEMIES AT THE MOST CRUCIAL TIME AND THERE IS NO GETTTING BEHIND THIS!

For the record and in the words of the same Military Commander Major General of the Wanni Region Kamal Guneratne it also needs to be reiterated that “Since 19th May 2009 until now, no terrorist act has taken place in Sri Lanka and no one has died due to terrorism,” and the State has also in all probabilities been spared of anarchy by conniving parliamentary opposition in a desperate bid to wrest power from the ruling party in collaboration with the incarcerated former military leader Gen. Sarath Fonseka due to the insight and perception of the Rajapaksha Regime whose actions speak louder than words for the redemption of Sri Lanka from her enemies which would have been a two pronged one considering the mendacities of the destroyed liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as well as what the would be insurgents who would have banded themselves together had the ploy of the Ranil Wickremasinghe led insurrection succeeded where the man should consider himself lucky he himself was not taken to task for his wrongdoings which even goes back to another time where he slipped the cordon for his part of neglect in a massacre of innocents and perhaps if he continues to persisit in his surreptitious attempts to unseat the present regime with his orchestrated skullduggery which many discerning analysts have noted, his time would probably come too!

An addendum needs to be set in place for the Wanni Commander’s Guneratne’s observations that “not only the people in the former LTTE dominated Wanni underwent sufferings and were oppressed by the LTTE, and were also living in fear and anxiety while people in the other parts of the country too had the same panic and the phobia but the Nation as a whole was at great peril of being overrun and taken over completely by the Tamil Terrorists support from sympathetic neighbours and their global network had it not been for the concerted efforts of the President, his team and the Armed Forces of which the incarcerated Maj.Gen. Sarath Fonseka too was an integral part but since the victory, has been relieved of the acollades he probablty deserved by turning on the present Administration and being baited by the opposition into attempting what may have been a coup to unseat the President had he succeded at the Presidential polls based on much investigative research done towards this where Gen Fonseka’s liabilities and involvement, have purportedly become painfully exposed despite all the rhetoric which goes around towards his innocence.

Today there is news of a call by the leaders of the Buddhist Clergy ~ whether unconfirmed or not towards the release of the General and that he has done a great service for the Nation in his part as one of the military leaders involved in the demise of the LTTE but this call seems to overlook the greater implications for the Nation had the oppositions parties in collaboration with Gen Fonseka created a situation which could have resulted in an equally dangerous situation comparable to the threat from the LTTE or more as the term anarchy comes into mind where the anarchists would have most shamefully been Sinhalese themselves at the helm and the call for the General’s release based on a sentimental viewpoint makes no real sense and he has to face the consequences of his actions which have led to his incarceration and punitive action by the State.Furthermore it also has to be borne in mind very emphatically that Gen Sarath Finseka was never totally responsible for the liberation of the Nation from the Tamil Tiger threat and to a degree an exaggeration despite playing a decisive role.

It also needes to be emphatically noted that the trial/s of the Fmr.General has been and is being conducted under the Statues and Jurisdictions of the Sri Lankan Justice System incorporated in the Constitution of Sri Lanka and not by a kangaroo court as some seem to think and if Military Dictates apply to the process that too is linked to the system as the trial/ s involve an Officer of the Armed Forces where the evidence against him seems overpowering and convincing!

The Sri Lankan Nation has finally reached an era of peace and prosperity in the offing for all her citizens where the present peaceful environment has not only brought in peace of mind and confidence to the people of Wanni in the words of Maj. Guneratne but for the country as a whole where the senior Wanni Commander has also emphasised that the country has been liberated with great sacrifice from those who helped towards the cause. Consequently and in absolute gratitude to those involved no one could be permitted to spoil these great sacrifices, and it is the duty and responsibility of every Sri lankan with a conscience to look after it, a sentiment which needs to be echoed across the land while ever being alert towards the perils the Nation could still face from unscrupulous power hungry politicians as well as dissenting Tamil Diaspora scatterd around the globe unwilling to accept what the Nation has been transformed into due to the efforts of the Administration and will continue their attempts to discredit it through every possible means including false presentations to foreign powers and financial as well as material aid suppliers!
