What does it matter what the leech or the peach do?

Reading the piece written on ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-when the Leech attacked the peachƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ written by the globally known celebrity Koluu (Daily Mirror 19/12/2010) I cannot help but feel a bad taste in the mouth. I do not belong anyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of the classes mentioned in the article. But all these seems to be just simple malicious gossip.

Gossip is sweet and interesting, as long as you are not at the receiving end of it. Reading the article I was just imagining the feelings of the persons concerned. How they must be feeling. How the society must be making them feel. Most of all if it does ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ not mean the ones actually putting on the hats , or the ones on whom the hats are put on. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

None of us are infallible. None of us are perpetually the hi fi or the lowly. None of us deserve to be laughed at in public. I think coming from a distinguished personality, I am sorry to say, it is bad taste.

The Quran teaches us in Sura Al-Hujurat ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 49:11

O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am sure all religions teach us this ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ same value. Entertainment is a vast area. We need not hurt others to entertain. We see this despicable habit creeping in to our journalism (if we can call it that) in the tongue in cheek columns in major newspapers. i think it is, to say the least, is of bad taste.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

LetƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s be gentle on others. We may need it at other times.

Mr De Costa, you should know that Saudi has no real legal system. They make up their own laws as they go along to suit themselves. In this incredible country if you go in a taxi and the driver has an accident, he will point to the passenger and say he had the accident because the passenger asked him to go where he went. That is the law there. The biggest mistake that President George Bush made after nine eleven was not to go into Saudi Arabia and take over that place instead of going to Iraq and Afganistan. We could have had cheap gasoline and there would be an end to Terrorism by effectively cutting the funding for the Terrorists.
