The Author should be commended for the tremendous amount of research done in to the subject and for exposing hitherto dormant but neverthless relevant aspect of the Sri Lankan Society that have impacted on this conflict- Professor Sunanda Mahendra

  1. Lorenzo Says:

When India intervened in 1987, only 3,516 people had died. The 13 amendment is part of the problem. – SL Gunasekara

Evidence shows this is true. The war took a very nasty turn with larger massacres after the IPKF experiment. Even moderate Tamil leaders were convinced that violence brought goodies. Since then over 100,000 people died. And the strong belief that violence will bring more and more for the Tamil people has become an established belief today. Unable to create violence locally, they now try bullying and violence at the international level.

  2. Fran Diaz Says:

Various countries will glady off load their dissident Tamils into Lanka for the very purpose of creating further trouble here. That is the reason why Lankans have to be careful just who enters this country in the guise of tourists !

Safety of the country first, Tourism comes second.
