ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Dear Sir:
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Reference this article by Jehan Perera, it appears that he is continuing with his theme only now instead of making peace with Prabhakaran’s LTTE he is now advocating negotiation and “peace” with the rump of the LTTE overseas, namely the so-called Tamil Diaspora. It is a fact that he has been and continues to ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ make millions as the spokesperson for western interests who wanted to give the LTTE their Eelam and used the likes of him and P. Saravanamuttu toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ do so. This article must be seen in that context.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
It is true that theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamil Diaspora are not an alien community. However it is not correct to state that their sentiments are the same as those who remain in Sri Lanka. They are continuing with their goal of dividing the country by whatever means possible – in Sri Lanka the bulk of the Tamils did not and do not have that goal. Those who didƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  were led by the LTTE and funded by the Tamils overseas to divide the country by violence. It was the Tamil population in Sri Lanka that paid the price with their lives. The Diaspora provided the funds and Perera and those like him in Sri Lanka ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ provided the arguments but instead of paying a price, earnedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  millions.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ His former role of promoting the LTTE argument must be second nature to him because he states that the Sri Lankan government must engage with the Tamil Diaspora, in other words the LTTE. Would fair minded Sri Lankans be able to “engage” with a set of people who reject unity and have stated in no uncertain terms that they will only settle for aƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  division of Sri Lanka? Is that not reminiscent of Prabhakaran? He met a few Sri Lankans in Toronto but missed the thousands who paraded on the streets of Canada for Eelam and to save Prabjakaran,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ including many who had been born overseas,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as well as theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamil ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ spokespersons in Canada whoƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ regularly make public statements that they will settle for nothing less than Eelam. Most importantly he has missed the fact that the “diaspora” are foreign nationals whose only interest in Sri Lanka is to get their Eelam.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
What he writes would be worthwhile reading only if he met and “engaged” with theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ leaders of Tamil Eelam in Canada and got commitment from themƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that they want to engage, want to develop the country and will not use the millions they still collect to destabilize the country or influence Canadian politicians to carry the torch of Eelam in Canada and threaten Sri Lanka’s leaders with “war crimes” at every public forum overseas. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If not, he is merely carrying on as he has in the past, promoting engagement and reconciliation by the Sri Lankan GovernmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with those who have no interest,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ earning his livingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with scant regard to reality making his “Toronto Experience” another money making ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ fantasy.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Yours truly,
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Jehan Perera’s article in the Island was an interesting one for sure and there was a lot of food for thought. However, dealing with diaspora Tamils needs to be very strategic and different from that for dealing with the local Tamils for obvious reasons. Diaspora Tamils, as seen from their recent actions, are determined to disrupt and discredit SL government as it is the only way they can win the Tamil diaspora to continually support and finance them. These are the very actions that keep the LTTE struggle alive, and the Tamil diaspora united on a common, albeit unreal cause. They are doing everything possible to prevent any person or country helping SL. Even though it is a great idea and a very noble one at that to “win” the Tamil diaspora, it might be real up-hill task. SL government, rather than wasting on advertisements, could use its diplomatic service personnel to bridge the gap between the Tamil diaspora and the SL government provided it appoints dependable and learned people of proven credibility capable of communicating effectively and diplomatically who have been trained to act and behave as diplomats of the country. After all, isn’t it one of the main roles, if not the main role of these diplomats?

SL has just got over the LTTE scourge after 30 years of bungling by successive governments. The present government deserves the support of all peace-loving Sri Lankans to build a united country without resorting to petty politics. However, the government, for its part must build the confidence amongst all Sri Lankans through their actions without taking extreme positions. In this regard, money and effort would be better spent to win the local Tamils who are our own Sri Lankans rather than try to win the Tamil diaspora, who are citizens of other countries, often having their own agendas to make situation in SL worse or appear worse than what it really is, so that they can use it to get their kith and kin to emigrate as refugees or keep those who are already here as refugees without being deported back to SL.

Ignore this stray dog Jehan Perera who is living on Norwegian Krone. To make tamil racist supporter Eric Solheim happy this man write some anti Sinhala articles to English newspapers. That is his job. Not worth of write on him.

Now this man advises Sri Lanka to negotiate with racist tamil terrorists criminals. No way we can’t tuck cobras inside our clothes ( redi assse nai daganta bei)

  4. helaya Says:

I could not agree more with Samarakoon. It is absolutely necessary to have well traine diplomats in at least in some countries like USA and Canada.

  5. Lorenzo Says:

    Samarako:

A top class diplomatic service is only the number 2 strategy, not the number 1 strategy.

It is very important but less important than the most significant issue here.

Tamil diaspora is nothing more than mere subversives if they are put in the place they belong in these countries – trash can. But that doesn’t happen. Do you think UK, USA, Canada, Germany, etc. don’t recognize the crap Tiger flag? They know very well that it is a banned terrorist organization in their countries. Then why do they listen to these terrorists and allow them to inconvenience dignified diplomats? Why do they act on these terrorists demands like Malabanda and Kroucher did?

Political and geopolitical reasons. That is what we should address first. Diplomats cannot do that.

It has to be done in SL. Tamils’ geopolitical clout in SL should be destroyed. Still they have it even after the war. If Tamil Elam is created, that becomes a good buffer for EU, US to counter China and Indian in the region. It is another East Timor, Kosovo, Cypres, Eritrea, Israel, Kurdistan, Taiwan. This is what we should destroy. The possibility of creating Tamil Elam is still there politically in the Tamil only north. That should change. Then Tamils will have no geopolitical power in the island and their very close relatives in the diaspora will be useless to suddas. Of course they will still have local political clout which is something we have to live with. That will die down in a generation.

Glad to see that more and more people are seeing through the ‘smoke screen’ – as Lorenzo points out this is a Western geopolitical agenda – it was never an ethnic issue, Sinhala vs. Tamil, Hindu vs. Buddhist or any other variation. It is purely and simply a group of people, organisations using those differences to protect their wealth, power and dominance in the region. The LTTE was just a cat’s paw but the puppeteer is still pulling the strings behind the scenes. It is high time the Sri Lankan Govt and the friends of Sri Lanka focussed their energies to expose the puppeteer(s). As some said elsewhere, the ultimate goal is to create the Republic of Tamil Nadu who will obey the Western imperialists.

We are just made to believe that it is the hard working Tamil migrants who are funding these Eelam activities – do your maths and very quickly you will realise that their budgets far exceed the funds collected by Tamils living in overseas countries – someone is funding these activities. The same goes to AI and HRW etc. Do you think it is the $10 donation by the ordinary person on the street which allows them to carry on these activities?? Think again….

PS. Haven’t heard from Ajit Randeniya for a long time….what’s going one? Was he being too open about these things?

  7. Lorenzo Says:

Western imperialists found most submissive, shiteating maggots in the entire world in Tamil Nadu. They loved them so much that they took them around the world. Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Fiji, West Indies islands, middle east, Nigeria, etc. They would do anything (and I mean anything) for the masters and would do it cheap.

In return masters would tolerate their stench.

Its the same thing today. Don’t re-invent the wheel.

Now these submissive creatures are leveraged to carryout the neo-imperialist agenda of the colonialists. Mind you they are not old colonialists, they are forever colonialists. Only the business model has changed. Today’s buzzword is outsourcing. So the colonialists have outsourced their colonial agenda to worthless Tamil Nadu people in the South Asian region. Even if they die, it doesn’t matter. In the olden days when you want to eat ham you kill a pig, make ham and eat. Not anymore. Now you just take away or buy at the superstore.

When LTTE bought shiploads of 122mm artilery pieces (40,000 in one shipment) from Croatia, the EU or US did nothing. When SL bought the same from Slovenia, all hell broke lose. LTTE bought most of their weapons from North Korea. No bastard shouted. They blame SL for just considering to buy weapons from North Korea.

Our diplomats will be barking up the wrong tree if they try to convince the colonialists about the LTTE. They know better. That’s why they banned it before us. Tamil Nadu people are useful idiots. We cannot attack the puppetmasters. But we can destroy the functioning of puppets. Then the masters will throw the puppets in the garbage bin and find new puppets.

Have we all forgotten that the 1983 Riots were a set up for Tamils to emigrate to the west ? Even astute JRJ fell for it ! Some Tamils of Dalit descent have no qualms about doing just anything, and I mean anything, to get away from Tamil Nadu’s Untouchable issues. Right now they do not have the Dr Ambedkar type to guide them. Their leaders are not of that calibre. Remember that Untouchability has gone on for 3,000 plus yrs. and is tied to the Hindu religion. That is why Rev. Malcolm Ranjit sides with the Tamil North – conversions galore awaits. With Ms Navi Pillai in place in the UNHRC, we get the total picture this time, unlike in 1983 when we took years to piece together the modus operandi, after the event happened.

Yes, another East Timor in the making in Lanka ! GoSL has to act now regarding Tamil Diaspora coming home to roost. Another 1983 type of incident can be arranged easily to clinch the Eelam deal ! Any Tamil Diaspora returning should be in Rehab Camps for at least 5 yrs before they are allowed into society here.

By the way, has UNHRC ever funded so called Refugees anywhere in the world to get a FLIGHT back to their countries of origin ? Not as far as we know.

Do not act in haste GoSL. We will all repent at leisure. Put some New Rules in place for all returning Tamils and watch them like hawks. It’s a National Security issue here.

  9. M.S.MUdali Says:

But you Sinhala assholes forget why and how Tamils become so strong in alien countries?

But Franz realized the EAST TIMOR idea of his Catholic Church. He must ask Malcolm Ranjith and his gang to leave Sri Lanka and must not return!

  10. Fran Diaz Says:

Mudali : Nobody has the facts mixed up. We all know how the Tamil Diaspora operates ! Not a pretty sight to behold. What do you suggest as a solution ? Can you guarantee Peace for all in Lanka with your solution ?

  11. Lorenzo Says:

    Mudali:

We have explained how they become “so strong”! Please read.

You cannot face it because you are one of them. For more information refer to tamilnet.tv (real tamilnet) which is more accurate than tamilnet.com (fake tamilnet) nowadays.
