Humanitarian Issues During the War in Sri Lanka
Monday, 28 February 2011, Don Randall MPƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Dear Mr.Randall,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ You deserve our heartfelt admiration for calling spade a spade!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am confident that, you may have noticed the Sinhalese of the Sri Lankan community as very poor lobbyists who have been hibernating while the LTTE support Tamil Diaspora has been extremely active in propagating falsehood to the bleeding hearts of the naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve Aussie parliamentarians!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sinhalese community who migrated to Australia undoubtedly did so to lead a comfortable life while giving their children a good education. At no time have they corrupted the innocent minds of their children to plant the germs of hatred against the Tamil community. In fact my sonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s best friend is a Tamil, who was also his Best man at his wedding. There are several of our children who have got married to Tamils, obviously their parents too would have been a broadminded lot.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sadly, there are some parents who corrupted the innocent minds of their children to the extent by portraying them in heavily dressed combat apparels as LTTE cadres killing the Sinhalese with exuberance in fund raising events. Obviously these parents want to perpetuate the hatred. This is where you hit the nail on the head, your quote ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-please donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t have your children that you bring to Australia or that are born in Australia continue these hostilities from now to eternityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ unquote.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Your pertinent observation, quote ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-70 per cent of those who came to this country, once they got their protection visaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬‚surprise, surprise!ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬‚returned Sri Lanka within 12 months. That says to me that there is quite an issue hereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Unquote.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Some Canadian Parliamentarians too made this observation as well. Unfortunately most of the influential people in Australian society have been gullible. Or could it be the Party subscription in some and financial gains for other, that made them to tern a blind eye to the truth.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s almost two years since the conflict in Sri Lanka has been concluded, yet the newly formed ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Transnational Government of Tamil EelamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ (TGTE), has not stopped hostilities, they continue spreading falsehood and denigrate Sri Lanka in the West.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I appeal its time now for Australian Government to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-proscribeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ any organization such as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Transnational Government of Tamil EelamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ (TGTE), affiliated with the defunct LTTE movement. After all LTTE was a brutal terrorists organization, if any democratic Government turns a blind eye to its support groups such as this, merely because some with high standing in the community, stooped to low levels to abuse their standing in the society to take the mean advantage of the unsuspecting gullible in Australia, reflects a very pathetic state of affairs!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Strangely these people are almost all citizens of the country of domicile, I cannot fathom out how an external country encourage her citizens to form ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Governments in ExileƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, I believe this tantamount to a possible ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-invasionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ at a later date! Where does this fall under UN or Geneva Convention agencies?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In conclusion, I profusely thank you for taking the stand on behalf of Sri Lanka at the Private Members Business time for no apparent benefit for you, but merely to presents facts and false propaganda meted outƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on a democratically elected government. I believe your revelation would encourage the rest of the members of the Federal Parliament to change their warped thinking and open their eyes.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Yours Sincerely,

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Vajiragnana Warnakulasuriya
