ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Present in over 107 countries and territories and with over 50,000 members, AIESEC is the worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s largest student-run organization and the most prominent international platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential and to have a positive impact on society. This global, non-political, non-profit organization is comprised of students and recent graduates of these institutions of higher education, who are interested in world issues, leadership, and management which has over 60 years of experience in developing students into globally-minded leaders. AIESECƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s innovative development process consists of unmatched leadership experiences, global internships and offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today. AIESEC provides over 7,700 leadership positions and delivering over 470 conferences to our membership of over 50,000 students. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ AIESEC also runs an exchange program that enables over5,500 students and recent graduates the opportunity to live and work in another country.

AIESEC in Sri Lanka was started in 1995. Today it provides development experiences to young people from 6 universities in Sri Lanka; University of Moratuwa, University of Kelaniya, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, University of Colombo, University of Peradeniya and Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.Each year AIESEC holds over 470 national and international conferences. The purpose of these events is gathering AIESEC members, partners, sponsors and alumni together. You can either attend or participate in organizing these conferences in the national or international level. These conferences are organized to maximize the learning and skills development of the members allowing them to acquire valuable personal and professional skills. Conferences provide a forum for our members to engage each other and leaders in the corporate community, government and civil society in specific, relevant issues to increase their awareness, deepen their learning and provide them with a network of people who have common interests.

Every year members of AIESEC Sri Lanka participate in two national conferences. During the last national conference NLDS 2010, new members got a chance to know more about AIESEC and experienced members developed AIESEC strategies for the future. This year AIESEC Sri Lanka has organized the next largest conference in 2011, named ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”EQUIPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ with the theme ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-equip today for a better tomorrowƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.This four-day residential conference with the anticipating participation over 150 local and international delegates will be held from the 31st of March to 3rd of April 2011.Applications have been called for the members and for the newies who are eagerly waiting to take part in this national conference which is a great opportunity for all of them to receive training, build personal network, demonstrate leadership, and have loads of fun.During the conference, participants get the chance to join with AIESEC songs and dances, theme parties, DJ night and many interesting events.
