April first is coming soon and there will be many a tale about the fools who get trapped by some pranks. But do we realize the permanent fools? Who become fooled not only the first of each April month but the whole of the year throughout?
They are the ones who keep on carrying out activities which are clearly harmful to themselves and even to others but do continue nevertheless. Who are they? Specially those who smoke and those who drink alcohol. In this 21 st century we don=92t need a rocket scientist to tell us that both these poisons are bad bad bad for us and the society. But we still carry on.
A function
cannot be held but alcohol has to be served =96 what is most shocking even = the doctors who keep harping on the evil effects fo alcohol cannot enjoy a function without alcohol.
Why is that? Because they are all fools. They are those who can not contro= l their own desires. They are the ones who lack self confidence and need a prop to feel confident. They are the ones who delude themselves that it is good for them. They are the ones who see all evil happening around them, th= e beaten wives, the raped daughters , the horrible road accidents =96 yet ke= ep drinking. The ones who have no social responsibilities. The attitude that this is none of my business but I will just go for that transient high, let the world go to hell, literally and metaphorically.
It is said Srilanka is the only country where the smoking habit has gone down =96 we owe a big thank you for the anti smoking campaign. If we can achieve that why not eradicate drinking alcohol which is thousand time mor= e harmful? Is it because we are not capable of it? No, not at all. But becau= se we don=92t care =96 we don=92t care for that innocent child whose life is s= nuffed out by an alcoholic father we read about in the newspapers recently, we don=92t care about eh hundreds of women who suffer day in day out with dru= nkard husbands we hear of every single day, we don=92t care about the psychologi= cal trauma the children undergo with alcoholic fathers. All we are worried about is the revenue to the country and the popularity of the politicians who keep distributing the license for the glorified taverns.
So let eh April fool day come and let all the Srilankans who have no intension of stopping this horrible vice put on the dunce=92s cap. We dese= rve it. We own it.

It all depends on individual will power. How much you preach, how many leaflets you print and distribute they keep drinking, and smoking. One thing, all the drunkards do not beat their wives and rape their daughters. I don’t mean to say as Hillary Clinton once told that there were good terrorists and bad terrorists – that there are good drunkards and bad drunkards. But, I can’t just understand why there are old drunkards in this world than old doctors. Cheers!!!

IT IS MIND BOGGLING AS TO HOW A DOCTOR, PROCTOR OR BEGGAR CAN WAX ELOQUENT ON A VICE (OR WISE) ON A SUBJECT THAT HE OR SHE HAS HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH, SUCH AS THE PLEASURE OR PAIN IN SAVOURING THE DRINK OF WINE OR LIQUOR OR THAT OF A CHEROOT OR CIGARETTE AND ITS EFFECTS.
THE USE OF ALCOHOL AND THEUSE OF TABACCO AND OTHER MILD INTOXICANTS HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED BY MAN AGES AGO & THERE IS HISTORIAL EVINENCE TO THIS FACT.

SO I QUITE AGREE IT IS A FOOL INDEED WHO CHOOSES TO SHOUT AT THE MOUNTAIN TOP OF ITS GOOD OR EVIL EFFECTS WITHOUT FIRST EXPERIENCING ITS PLEASURES. ITS LIKENED UNTO A VIRGIN SHOUTING SEX IS BAD AND UNPLEASUREABLE.
