Don’t insult others on language ability. Language is a tool to communicate. You may be better than them but don’t think that you are the best English writer.
On that aspect NBA had tried their best to give some idea what they want. It may not perfect but somehow they did it. We have to appreciate them. Should not discourage them. English may be NBA’s third language first is naturally Sinhala, Second may be Pali, Third or fourth language may be English. Therefore we have to appreciate their ability to communicate in a non-native language.
Alien language should not use as a tool to discriminate natives. English is a tool used by neo colonial slavery mentality urban groups against native Sinhala majority. Most unfortunate thing in Sri Lanka is even after 60 years invaders left our country still reasonable lot worship english language and culture to insult Sinhala natives.

I fully agree that NBA has done a extremely important and commendable task here and it is a must by all Sri Lankans to defend our traditional values.
But I do not think you should attack Deveamitta so hard. He made it clear that NBA should have written this in Sinhala. I also think that it is difficult to get the message through SInhala since Ben Silva attacked our values in his language.
It is also possible that NBA has purposely written in wrong English.

I’m not a english native speaker but dutch and a Singhala Theravada monk. i like to read this article’s and send many to friends abroad to inform them on the Singhala and Buddhist points of few. Therefor I wrote my comment, being better readable it would make a better impression on them. I agre that i’m not perfect in english, or enything else for that matter, but my only intention was the fore mentioned. NBA team appears to be some shngha front but I think it is not a good language for monks ( I am not talking about English but SAMMAWACA).

Dear friend Dham, no apology needed I understand. I apreciate deeply what makes you comment. What considers this Ben Silva; I agree with your reactions, in all the things he wrote he is down grading Buddhism and this hurts me to! best thing is to prove him wrong with good arguments and in a honarable way; we should never allow ourselves to come down to the level of those we dispice or not agree with. I have been asking my friends in western countries to read lanka web, many of them are doing so, i did this because they ask me regularly about the situation over here in Lanka. (on the moment specialy C4). Here they can read also the “other side of the story”, and naturaly they will also read the unsympathis and insulting articles like those of B.S.. I am really sorry if I have offended you. Actually I too tried to defend Buddhism in support to NBA team’s statement though it was not properly written.
Honestly I don’t know what is NBA, who they are? I am not a NBA team member but I agreed with them, on fundamentally for their message against Ben’s anti Buddhist sentiments.

I appreciate that you and Dham are protecting Buddhism! That makes me feel good! Whish there where more like you two! There will be always people who will try to infiltrate their ideas in to Buddhism, to corrupt it, as long as we have right understanding of the teachings they cant get their way! This kind of thing (Singhala Buddhism without Nibbana etc.), might be a way for them to start a new sect which will be easy to be absorbed by Christianity. This time we should not make the same mistake as before (like giving hospitality to Christian preachers to even preach in our Temples), because they will abuse us, Buddhist, as before! As you said rightly, chasing IPKF and saving coastline is not the duty of Buddhism.
Buddhism is the solution to the main problem every being is facing, sickness, old age , death followed by sadness,lamentation etc. It is a common rpoblem to Hela people as well as Tamil people. The Buddha did not discriminate.
There is no need to attack Buddhism if you hate others. IF YOU WANT TO GET RID OF HATRED FIND THE SOLUTION WITHIN, AS INSTRUCTED BY BUDDHA.
