ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Call to Probe the Appointment of Chris du Toit as UN Security Chief in Sri Lanka
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We are deeply perturbed by the appointment of Chris du Toit as the UN Security Chief in Sri Lanka, knowing full well his background of having trained and advised terrorists in Angola on behalf of the former South African apartheid regime. It has now been revealed that he had established a ring of paid informers to collect so called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-credibleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ evidence to concoct a string of allegations against the democratically elected government of Sri Lanka which enjoys equal member status in the United Nations Organization.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is relevant to ask how credible are these informers who provided information in exchange for payments made by the United Nations? Also, have the crimes committed by the terrorist group led by Jonas Savimbi and trained by Chris du Toit been brought before a tribunal or a Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Angola? Has Chris du Toit answered to his covert activities involving the training of a terrorist group in a Court of Law? Did the UN consider his background experience a qualification for his appointment to the post of Security Chief in Sri Lanka for carrying out similar covert operations in a member country which had a legally and democratically elected government? Are we to conclude that the Secretary GeneralƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s panel on Sri Lanka relied on information so collected to prepare their lengthy report containing unsubstantiated allegations?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Your excellency, we consider the appointment of Chris du Toit as highly improper and unethical to say the least. You should immediately probe the necessity for appointing Chris du Toit as the UN Security Chief and the need for hiring questionable snoopers to be paid by the UN for such an operation in Sri Lanka. If your office is unable to conduct an independent probe for lack of experts, you may even appoint a panel of experts to get to the bottom of this unethical and improper conduct on the part of the United Nations.

Mahinda! AGREE with you 110%. This is how UN and some other agencies behave & every chance we get, we must keep them accountable for such actions. Thanks very much for youe letter, it is very appropriate. Hope you would with other members of your association contribute this way.

We cant expect anything better from Ban ki Moon who seems to be taking instructions from NaviPillai and the Tiger Diaspora. Let him appoint this shameless man du Toit, who twisted events to transfer LTTE attrocities to the SriLankan forces. He will trip himself by overplaying his role to undermine SriLanka. Justice must prevail.
