Once again it needs to be reiterated that the Government of Sri Lanka should not be dictated to in any way by the TNA simply because the Tamil Diaspora paints them as legitimate politicians and some world leaders buy their lines despite somewhat curiously their countries banning the LTTE underground operatives who appear to continue working hand in glove with the TNA which given their bold agitations of late to which they have no entitlement seem to be getting carried away. It needs to be remembered that they were and in all probabilities still are a proxy for the Tamil Tigers and the GOSL probably should get a declaration from them denouncing and disassociating themselves from LTTE objectives which is visible to the discerning eye before being permitted to continue as a political entity or face the axe!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When the leader of the Tamil National Alliance, R Sampanthan, in a press release issued to the media takes exception to Head of Sri Lanka’s delegation to the UN and Minister in Rajapakse government, Mahinda SamarasingheƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s statement which said that his ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s approach to reconciliation has been predicated on building trust and amity between communities.” a fact plainly visible in Sri lanka today but in response the TNA suggests that the experience of the Tamil people does not support this claim and that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Tamil people of the North and East continue to be subjected to violence even after the end of the war.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ He seems to portray himself as the typical rabble rousing instigator he is apathetically turning out to be as the world is fast becoming aware of the veracity of what the Sri Lankan Government Minister has attested to.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In this respect there is no obligation on the part of Sri Lanka to pay homage to such statements and tolerate them in the face of all the rapid development taking place in the North and East where Tamils in vast numbers are returning to take up their existences once relinquished in a hurry mainly due to the mendacities of the LTTE and today seem quite content and grateful to the Sri lankan Administration for all their efforts to re-settle them so what is this Sambandan ‘orator’ talking about, and is it coming through his hat?

When the TNA says ” the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission [LLRC] has offered only a limited mandate and made only modest recommendations, while also asking the Government to publish the names of those in detention they seem to overstep their metes and bounds of acceptance by the GOSL.As a political entity which has been tolerated despite their past involvement with the LTTE and acting as a front for them which in all probabilities they still do, they have the audacity to sound so self righteous and authoritative with hardly a mandate to do so! This was also clearly evident when the TNA won an insignificant local government election in the not too distant past and were already on pogo sticks attempting to direct Government policy!.

The audacity extends when they refute what the Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe had claimed, that measures have been taken to implement the LLRC recommendations without delay.They suggest that “the Government, however, has been engaged in a constant flow of misinformation to the international community; the Minister for External Affairs informed the Heads of Missions in Sri Lanka in January 2011 that a database containing the list of Tamil detainees was active and available for perusal by the next of kin….However, not only was this information untrue, but even after several subsequent promises to make available the list of detainees, it has not been implemented to date,” as the TNA rhetoric a la Sampanthan continues intangibly where in the TNA’s opinion “the truth” is different which is a clear indication of the extent to which they continue to attempt disrupting the progress initiated by the GOSL in post insurgency Sri Lanka and should no longer be tolerated given the grave nature of their posturing and perhaps deserving of being outlawed as posing a danger to National Security. Thet seem to vividly qualify for this action by their insistence that the international community needs cautioning on uncriticallly accepting termination of the state of emergency as evidence of normalcy being restored in post-war Sri Lanka. “We have consistently maintained that the termination of the state of emergency needed to be accompanied by the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act [PTA] if Sri Lanka is to ensure a transition towards genuine democratic and constitutional rule,” the statement from TNA said.

But what about the track record of the TNA who were surreptitious terrorist supporters themselves and have never disowned the LTTE or agreed to follow Government policy relative to being non-affiliated to a terror organization? and what if terrorism once more raises its ugly head based on a Freudian Slip in a attempt to appease an organization that was once thought of by many analysts as a visible front for terrorism despite attempts to cover up?

It seems all well and good to rant on about ” honouring the victimsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ right to benefit from remedies and reparation, the international community keeping faith with the plight of victims, survivors and future human generations and reaffirming the international legal principles of accountability, justice and the rule of law” which really are international norms that the Government is not oblivious to and hardly need lecturing about .

“The grievances of the victims of international humanitarian and human rights law violations” in Sri Lanka, the cheap as well as surreal cliche that seems to have taken centre stage courtesy of the so called LTTE ‘rump’ as well as the Tamil diaspora supportive of them, sermonised by Mr Sampanthan another of their mouthpieces playing to a world audience however does not seem to incorporate the grievances of Sinhalese, Muslim and other ethnicities who have been equally or more grievously affected by the attrocities of the LTTE who were continuously supported by the secession seeking Tamils, the TNA et al who had no qualms about it albeit crying about Tamil grievances today to which they probably need to ask Velupillai Prabhakaran posthumously ~ who most attrociously violated international humanitarian and human rights laws to the very extreme and at the instigation of whom? To which obviously the answer will be a long and ominous silence! The TNA needs to clam up for the common good of Sri Lanka and to avoid being disentitled to continue as a political party that supports terrorism in Sri Lanka covertly as their objectives seem pretty transparent to the seeing eye!
