Sir:

We seem to be living in a world of geo-political cherry-picking countries and Human Rights organizations like Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) who make their choices according to who will fund them or vote for them, to go after countries for alleged War Crimes to satisfy their client base.

The case in point has been Sri Lanka where Prime Minister Stephen Harper has threatened to boycott the Commonwealth Summit of 2013 in Colombo if Sri Lanka will not improve its human rights, a fall-out for their getting rid of the leader of the Tamil Tigers, V. Prabhakaran,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and his terrorist out fit, on 19 May 2009.

Prime Minister Harper says, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-With the shadow of Gadafi now lifted from their land, it is our hope that the Libyan people will find peace and reconciliation after this dark period in the life of their nationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I wish he had expressed that sentiment about Sri Lanka having seen Velupillai Prabhakaran, the Tamil Tiger leader gone, after a 27 year long war which killed 100,000 Sri Lankans.

Prime Minister Harper also said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-GadhafiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s days are over. Never again will he be in a position to support terrorism or to turn guns on his own citizens.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I wish he expressed these sentiments on Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s plight where the Tamil Tiger terrorist leader killed his own Tamil people in the thousands,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who disagreed with his choice of wanting a separate Tamil state, Eelam, in the north and east of Sri Lanka.

It would also be interesting to find out which Human Rights Missionary Organization who has targeted Sri Lanka for alleged War Crimes during the last phase of the Tamil terrorist war, will now target NATO and their ground fighters guilty of war crimes in Libya?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I am curious.
