ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Sir:
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
How right the Sri Lanka High Commissioner, Chitraganee Wagiswara is to be honest andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ brave enough to tell Canadians that “…she denied allegations that Sri Lanka committed human rights violations, stressing the government wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ fighting a war against terrorism when it defeated theTamil Tigers,”ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ (PM heads for Commonwealth hornet’s nest). ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Her government, did what it had to do, to get rid of 27 years of Tamil Tiger terrorism and give back to its 22 million peoples their ‘Right-to-life” which was hijacked by the Tamil Tigers for 27 years with 388 ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ suicide bombings and claymore mine detonations at street corners at rush hours, et cetera, and also liberate 300,000 Tamils from being used as a human shield by the Tamil Tigers during last phase of the war.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Sri Lanka certainly wasn’t blessed with the luxury of having been supported by the Canadian Forces nor other NATOƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ country forces toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ fight off Tamil Tiger terrorism which was haemorrhaging that island nation which saw overƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 100,000 innocent civilians killed.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This has to be acknowledged byƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ every honestƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Head ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Commonwealth of nations.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
If Prime Minister Harper feels very strongly about the alleged human rights violations in Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and wants to boycott the Commonwealth Heads of Governments summit in Colombo in 2013, so be it.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He should stay back.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
