In a world with 1.5billion Muslims why is it hard to fathom that they would want to kill each other? Over 90% of the conflicts presently taking place across the world is associated with Muslims fighting each other though the conflicts have been triggered with the assistance of the West. In the most recent case of Libya, the West may have invaded Libya to militarily defeat the 42 year rule of Muammar Gaddafi, but it was the Libyans that shamefully captured, tortured & sodomized their one time leader & killed scores of Gaddafi supporters in cold blood. Statistics will reveal that despite the wars being waged all over the world the Muslim population is rising at an alarming rate & Muslims today are domiciled in key continents where they are likely to emerge the majority in years to come.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is no exaggeration to say that over 270m non-Muslims have been murdered over the past 1400 years. It is estimated that over 60m Christians were slaughtered in the Middle East & North Africa while half of the Hindu civilization was annihilated & 80m Hindus were murdered. It is also estimated that over 10million Buddhists have been killed. Should we then be surprised that 95% of all conflicts today involve Muslims &ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ fighting each other? Bethlehemhad 70% Christians in the 1970s though today it occupies over 70% Muslims! Yet Christianity remains the largest religion.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There are 1.5billion Muslims in the world & Muslims are increasing by 235% making Islam the fastest growing religion in the world. Indonesiais the home to the largest Muslim population of 202m (12.9% of world92s Muslims) followed byPakistanwith 174m & India with 160m & Bangladeshwith 145m. 62 % of the world92s Muslims live inAsia, 20% in the Arab countries. However, there are more Muslims inGermany than inLebanon &ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ more Muslims in China than inSyria! Islam has also come to be the 2nd largest religion inFrance,UK &ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the US! Majority of Muslims are Sunni while others are Shia.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Are all conflicts related to Arab-Israeli issues? IsIsrael the Satan of the Arab world? If Islam is a peaceful religion why has history proven otherwise? Why have minorities & non-Muslims been prosecuted under Islam? We can recall how a giant 5th century Buddha at Bamiyan in Afghanistan was destroyed to bits & the world merely watched in silence!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Where are the conflicts taking place?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In Algeria bitter fighting between Islamic fundamentalists & military 96 casualties number over 100,000 through a decade. In Nigeria thousands of Muslims are murdering Christians & burning down Churches. Civil war rages through Sudan again between Muslims & Christians with 2m Sudanese killed. We may recall the massacre of tens of thousands of Lebanese Christians in 1860s. Similar situations exist in Eritrea & Ethiopiaas well as between Muslim Azerbaijans & Christian Armenians. There are holy wars taking place in Kenya & Turkeywhere Islamic militants want to take over governance. The former Soviet Union breakaway Muslim republics where over 55m Muslims live fighting prevails in Chechnya, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan & Uzbekistan. In Philippines though the population is 95% Catholic/Christian, Muslim rebels of the Abu Sayyaf group have banded with Al Qaeda & are demanding an independent Islamic nation. Uprisings spreading to Timor as well as Malaysia will only be a matter of time. InIndia liberation forKashmirhas been going on for years. In Bangladesh where over 80% of the population are Muslims the remaining Christians & Buddhists under dire suffering & violence.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Close to 2m Christians have fled the Middle East partly due to the fighting between Israelis & Palestinians but mostly due to the discrimination & religious persecution.Egyptis another good example.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Yet in the present context we see an alarming situation where Muslims are killing each other. The Iran-Iraq war that lasted a decade left 1m Muslims dead over a land dispute! Why are moderate Muslims in fear of the radical Islamics? In a world where population control has meant western populations are either having just one child or none at all the Muslim population is expanding & the threat of this increase would mean all continents are likely to be populated with Muslims in time to come. It is estimated that by 2020 Muslims will account for 10% of the European population & one third of all European children will be Muslim. Immigration accounts for almost 90% of Europe’s population during the 1990s. From 80,000 UK ‘sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Muslim population is now over 2m & London is a launch pad for most of the pro-Islamic propaganda.
Which has meant UK having to install over 1.5m closed circuitƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TV cameras. Elsewhere Belgium & Netherlands have become home to Islamic fundamentalism even terrorist breeding. Muslims make up 15 ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Netherlands population now. Even in Sweden Islam has become the 2nd largest religion.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There are 4m Muslims inGermany, 6m inFrance, 300,00 in Belgium 11m Muslims are now living inWestern Europe. Ironically, if one looks at the crime scenes in Europe too most of them involve Muslims. In France, from 100,000 Muslims in 1945, Muslims today number over 6m in nuclear-armed country! In Italy, it is believed that 95% of rapists are Muslims, in Franc e 70% of all prisoners are Muslims. Primarily because most of the immigrants are uneducated & unskilled & depend on social welfare. There are said to be over 1000 mosques inFrance, 8000 mosques in Russia & ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ risingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ & over 1500 mosques in the US. The US has 2.8m Muslims & rising number of Muslim converts.Canada with just 33m population has over 500,000 Muslims today & over 80 mosques. In 1871 the Canadian census had recorded just 13 Muslims!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The statistics are clear 96 there is a significant rise in Muslims all over the world. Alongside this rise are the numbers of Jihadists who are willing martyrs. Not all Muslims are Jihadists & not all Muslims propagate the trend that is taking place nevertheless we cannot escape from the statistics that clearly points out to the violence that eschews from Muslims. This is why most non-Muslims are currently questioning the warlike & violent attitudes of Muslims especially in the Arab & North African nations. It may be the West that is supply the arms or even creating the atmosphere for the conflict but the question that needs to be answered is why are Muslims killing each other? The danger is that the West may be happy to see Muslims fighting each other but let us not forget that Muslims are also increasing at a higher rate than the Western world!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Nevertheless, Muslims killing Muslims has amounted to over 10m. In other words, over the past 60 years 90% of the Muslims killed have been killed by their own people this surely is not Islam! Why are Muslim sects so hateful of one another? What right has the Taliban to think that its ideology has t o be accepted by all others? Do they think that just by forcing women to wear black from head to toe is following Islam? Is it the dress or the mind that has to be Islamic?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What the Islamic world cannot deny is that it may follow Islam but Muslims are united in hate. As aspect that is making Islam what it is, is its close association to politics which goes hand in hand with the desire for power o f a cult/tribe. For Muslims God is the source of sovereignty even an army is God’s army. That is why the calls for Jihad means all those who are unbelievers which could even mean Muslims & non-Muslims. The first Islamic Civil War started in 656 lasting 5 years. Every time bombs go off in Pakistan it is Muslims killing Muslims, every time bombs go off in Afghanistan & Iraqit is the same story. There is no need for Western forces to attack when Muslims are attacking their own, killing tribes though they are all Muslims following Islam.

These are FACTS.
There is no need for anyone to get HURT!
The sooner the Muslim community fixes this problem the better. Otherwise the west AND the east will make USE OF this problem to drive out Muslims. Don’t forget NATO is not alone. BRIC also have problems with them. Chechnya, Kashmir, Ugir are examples.
So both major economic and defence power blocks – NATO and BRIC are VEHEMENTLY against Islamic violence. Islam violence is the ONLY thing these two power blocks agree on! That says it all.
Unfortunately the Muslim society turns a blind eye to this. That is when outsiders (non Muslims) have to get involved. For them the best strategy is to FURTHER instigate violence WITHIN the Muslim community. If (or when) this spreads to SL, we should follow the SAME strategy. One good thing is “Muslims unlike Tamils don’t have human rights”. USA, UK, France, Russia, China, HRW and AI don’t give a stuff about human rights of Muslims. So it is going to be much easier to handle ANY violence they create.

Destabilisation and exploitation go hand in hand. The killing fields are organised and orchestrated from the higher centres for geo political reasons. As seen in Libiya and Iraq the vultures to exploit the natural resources in the form of large corporates move in after the change of government. The internal descent is organised from with in. In the case of the Muslims it is all funded from Saudi Arabia and the gulf states at the behest of the west who help the unpopular rulers to surpress their own people. Saudi Arabia is no different to the role played by India in sri lanka. Muslims do not wish to kill muslims like wise sinhalese do not wish to kill Tamils. This is achieved by using paid agents a well known modus operandi.

I Think Shenali has misunderstood the whole thing.
Islam originated among trading tribes in the middle east deserts. The major purpose was to unite them and to stop killing each other among different tribes as that would promote trading aspect of their lives.
Mohamed himself, at the very beginning, promoted killing other tribes as they did not agree to unite under the god that he had found.
Islam killed Buddhists mostly in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India in order to convert. Some of those Indians Ran away to Sri Lanka.

Why don’t you add killings among Sinhalese in 1971 and in late eighties. It exceeds more than killings happened in Libya.
And also, 1983 riots killings, 10,000 killings in Mullivaikkal (Tamils estimate 40,000), and the Tamil terrorism’s blessed killings more than 100,000, etc.
I think Sri Lanka’s killing field will be the top and should be in world record.
We, Buddhists should correct ourselves, before preach to others!

I am not a pretending Buddhist like you.
I am following fundamentals of Buddha’s teaching.
I am very well pleased if you call me as a Buddhist fundamentalist or a Buddhist Jihadi.
Jihad means strive hard for any justice course.
Looking after parents also jihad, strive hard to earn also jihad, refraining from bad acts also jihad, and so on.
If you don’t strive hard in following Buddha’s path, you won’t get enlightenment.
That means, you must have qualities of jihad which is prescribed in buddhist scriptures to follow.
I give you a small version of Dhammapada, which encourages the jihad qualities hidden in you in order to purify your heart.
“He who inflicts violence on those who are unarmed, and offends those who are inoffensive, will soon come upon one of these ten states:
Sharp pain, or disaster, bodily injury, serious illness, or derangement of mind, trouble from the government, or grave charges, loss of relatives, or loss of wealth, or houses destroyed by ravaging fire; upon dissolution of the body that ignorant man is born in hell. (Dhammapada)”
This version of Dhammapada, I think, will strongly applicable to the author of this article too.

Although all three middle eastern originated religions are related, English vocabulary makers has excluded Islam and we say Judeo-christian religions. Anyway, all three religions are political. latter two are very violent too. Even in Iran Zorastians, may be sufis too, are condemned and discriminated.

Senali has produced a well written article giving facts – the number of humans killed by Muslims in the name of religion. Buddhists in Lanka need to learn lessons to avoid a Nalanda being repeated. As for Jimmy, look at the language and the tone he has used. If some one gives him a gun, the way he goes about, he would be as good as Praba. Perhaps he need help. I merely asked the question, when the Muslims stop killing each other, will they start killing others, because they hae a history of killing non believers, even fellow Muslims in a different sect ?

Why are Muslims killing each other….? You really don’t know? Because that’s what Islam teaches them to do. Since its inception in the 7th Century Islam has been a religion of Death, Intolerance, and Lunacy. Just take a few moments to read the history of Islamic conquest of Middle East and South Asia… See the Millions slaughtered, captured, enslaved and subjugated in the name of this barbaric religion and you will never wonder why they kill each other, even again.

Christians have stopped killing in the name of Religion CENTURIES AGO!…. But not Muslims.. still killing to this day.
Muslim Armies invaded the Middle East when there were no Christians there… Muslims have been forcefully slaughtering others and forcefully converting to Islam without Christians opposing… only when Islam conquered 3 of 4 of Christianity’s holy sites:
Cordoba, Constantinople, and Jerusalem,… then only did the Crusades begin to fight back Islamic Savagery.
Muslims are a Backwards Throwback Cult of Death… still stuck in the 7th Century. Islam is responsible for the deaths of 10 Million Buddhists, 60 Million Christians, 80 Million Hindus, and 250 Million of their own Muslims!
