Strange! And I am sure there is a motive behind this decision by AI.

They know that you are the guys at AI who greased your dinner plates with Angus sirloin stakes tired of eating hamburgers by accepting the $50,000 walk-a-thon money by a Tamil group which defended the Tamil Tigers vigorously on TV panel discussions in Toronto, when Tamil Tigers were gasping for breath to survive hanging on to the weeds in the Nandikadal lagoon in April and May of 2009, and now AI is being used as their Tamil Tiger sympathizing His MasterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Voice.

They know that you guys at AI who pretend to be squeaky clean and boast that you all won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1977, when it was your organization that devoted a modest half a page to Kampuchea in its annual report covering 1975, the year Phenom Penh fell to the Khymer Rouge.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And these Commonwealth countries know that it were you lot who prudently expressed that the allegations of mass executions were based on ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-flimsy evidence and secondhand accounts.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is when it was a known fact that nearly one-fifth of the population of Kampuchea was exterminated by the Khymer Rouge in the late 1970s.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And these Commonwealth countries know that it was your bunch at AI who sent a cable congratulating the new regime of Kampuchea on the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-large national union without distinction of class, religious belief or political tendency.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

They know that you guys are after a pound of flesh off Sri Lanka and try to marry international sports with your vengeful political ideology against Sri Lanka and mounted a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Play by the RulesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ cricket ball campaign against the Sri Lankan National Cricket Team at the World Cup Cricket tournament in the Caribbean. However, it was the Sri Lankan Government that declared ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”No Fire ZonesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ for the internally displaced Tamil civilians (IDPs) to gather away from Tamil Tiger sniping bullet-harm, andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  called on the Tamil Tigers to allow the IDPs to move out of the battle ground and even offered an amnesty to the Tamil Tigers who would surrender.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And at no point, did the Sri Lankan Government, as expressed by Salil Shetty, of Amnesty International, herd these Tamils into these ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”No Fire ZonesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢.

Contrary to what AIs Secretary-General Salil Shetty said, the Tamil Tigers had placed their heavy guns amidst the Tamil civilians whom they were using as a human shield.

It was on February 9, 2009, that a Tamil Tiger woman suicide bomber attempting to infiltrate into the Rescue and Relief Centre set up by the Government in Visuamadu blew herself up killing 29 Tamil people and injuring 64 others including 15 soldiers tending to the needs of the Tamil civilians who had sought refuge.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Despite such Tamil Tiger intimidation and threats of harm a total of 6,400 IDPs had crossed over to the government controlled areas voluntarily, and not ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”herdedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by the Sri Lankan soldiers as ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ what Salil Shetty of AI had intimated.

It wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  on February 10, 2009, that the Tamil Tigers opened fire on fleeing Tamil civilians in the Udayarkattukulum area of Mullaitiuvu killing 19 including 2 children, 5 woman and 12 men and further injuring 75 others among whom were 28 children, 30 women and 17 men.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Despite this armed attacks on the fleeing Tamil civilians, a total of 1,046 had sought refuge from the government at this location. It is unfortunate that bleeding hearts like AIƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Secretary-General Salil Shetty has had difficulty to mention these valid incidents to present a fair case to the international public when going after a pound of flesh off Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s back while speaking for the Tamil Tiger rump on alleged war crimes during their Eelam war.
