Canadian Foreign Minister’s Insistence About Sri Lanka’s Alleged War Crimes Baseless With Leanings Towards Tamil Sympathy Forgetting The Root Cause Of The Conflict ~ Terrorism.

While it sounds like a legitimate call to investigate alleged “War Crimes” from Canada;s Foreign Ministry and the Hon. Mr. Baird obviously echoing similar sentiments to those of his head honcho the Prime Minister Harper, there still remains the question of where is the proof based on tangible evidence thus far?
It might also be asked “does Canada have a right to this call and is it not interference?”
Why is it that Canada going back in time continues to harp on ( no deliberate pun intended towards Mr. Harper’s direction ) this theme of war crimes and attrocities in near moronic perspective when the crux of the matter rests and always will rest on the main cause of military actions taken and related to the elimination of a deadly terrorist group acknowledged by pretty much the entire world in a manner of speaking?
More so when it was the terrorists who indulged in proven horrendous attrocities with enough tangible evidence to convice and point towards legitimacy of the defence of a Nation against terrorism in massive volumes of true life depictions of LTTE terror and first hand accounts and visible evidence of brutalities and massacres as opposed to the souped up and doctored videos of some wayward pro terrorist Tamil photographers and video documentators picked up by all the gullible sources to build a case against Sri Lanka when there is in fact none to build on?
These combined with all the lies and innuendo of itinerant proactive Tamil Tiger supporters around the world powerful enough to get world attention for all the wrong reasons, monied enough to support their. cause combined with their own frustrations.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is also the somewhat curious aspect of why countries like Canada continue to harp ~ again with no intended pun on My Harper and associates~ about the woes of the Tamils alone when there are Sinhalese, Muslims and other minorities with equal or greater attrocity related grievances and grossly affected by the heinous crimes against humanity if the term may be borrowed! which were perpetrated by the Tamil Tigers predominantly on virtually the entire nation of Sri Lanka which can only point to the coercions and instigations of Tamiils within the infrastructure of these political parties such as the Conservatives of Canada who don’t blink an eyelid in jumping to conclusions perhaps for obvious reasons and the Liberals before them who don’t really have a shred of tangible vidence to reiterate what was said before.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It also needs to be pointed out that the United Nations which Canada now seems to be taking as gospel and using as a standard towards the hounding of Sri Lanka, are very much in the same boat as the Canadians who have little or nothing to go by towards any tangible proof inasmuch as what Canada does not have where the two sources most unfortunately seem to be barking up the same tree and at the moon for that matter for its futility and worthlessness with the same torch to illuminate their view. The ‘moon’ refered to incidentally isn’t any part of Mr. Ban Ki Moon who does incidenrtally seem a bit moonstruck and be peering myopically at the same balderdash and twaddle presented to him by Sri Lanka’s tormentors in the form of the lobby of the global diaspora of Tamils who are indeed the root cause of some foreign anxiety at the present. This in turn is hinged to the obvious and very transparent links to the Tamil Tigers whom they once championed in the hope of secession through terrorism and violence and failed miserably due to the timely actions of the present Administration and the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka which needs commendatioins and applause rather thn the derisions presented!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What Canada and the world needs to be made aware of, inthe hope that it has the desired legitimate effect is that the Sri Lanka Administration was well within its rights to wage this war against terrorism, incidentally acnowledged and applauded by many discerning and viable international sources as one which was necessary and unprecedented and saved a Sovereign Nation from being overrun by global terrorism, state destruction and possible anarchy had it transpired.
It needs to be taken into consideration that what is going on through all these calls for accountability where there is no need for it is simply a matter of interference into the internal affairs of a Sovereign Nation where her leaders have been more than accountable within the framework of legitimacy and entitlements to account for what really transpired and are continuing to do so.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Canada and some of her allies seem to be unfairly finger pointing at Sri Lanka and using the future of Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth status as a threat towards acheiving their ends and in so doing perhaps appeasing their Tamil instigators which do not provide much for the credibilities involved nor the protocols needing to be adhered to in Canada’s part regardless of all the hooing and haaing of the likes of messers Baird and Harper etc. which at times runs from the sublime to the ridiculous to put it into perspective!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lanka has no real need to show accountability for “serious allegations of war crimes” committed during its 25-year civil war as Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird suggests as they are neither provable or deserve the title war crimes for all the reasons stated previously. While Mr.Baird’s comments to MPs at the Commons foreign affairs committee come after Prime Minister Stephen Harper publicly criticized Sri Lanka over its” human rights record ” during the Commonwealth meeting in Australia in October the two statements have a common link to the same sources which in all probabilities inspired them, namely the global Tamil Diaspora lobby and the presence of sympathiser within their own camp. Quoting Mr. Baird it need to be asked, what the relevance is in saying that “Other countries have taken 10 years for reconciliation, other countries never reconcile, but it’s incredibly important.” where the reconciliation of certain countries might fall within the rationalities of a need for it based on the populace whose rights have eventually been restored . The countries of no reconciliation might be those where the disorientation of the nation has been the sole responsibility of the sources which started it in the first place yet contnue to hold power and none of these seem to be applicable to Sri Lanka which was a unifed nation of a majority of Sinhalese where a miniscule minority attempted to ursurp this unity through terrorism towards their own means and those of unscrupulous politicians!!!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Sri Lanka Government has, in denying that its forces committed war crimes and refused any investigation, resorted to what has always been in plain sight to those with unimpeded vision towards the truth and realities related in accurate perspective. Defending a nation’s sovereignity and territorial integrity despite how some of her adversaries care to label it is indeed a legitimate right.
Mr. Baird in praising the UN for publishing a recent report on Sri Lanka contradicting the government’s position, and callin it deeply disturbing has probably expressed what any rational and intelligent person reading it would albeit neglecting to ask himself how true and accurate this report might be taking into considerations all the recent bunglings of the United Nations even going back to its transparently contentious predecessor when it came to administrative matters and susceptibilities towards drawing his own conclusions without bias.And of course there was more to him than meets the common eye as was found out later suggesting birds of a feather, sightless and flightless towards the metaphor!.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Given all the facts and related circumstances, it does not need rocket science to conclude that the Canadian Foreign Minister’s as well as his superior’s insistence about Sri Lanka’s alleged war crimes is out of whack! with leanings towards Tamil sympathy forgetting the root cause of the conflict ~ Terrorism.!
And the Sri Lankan Administration and its Military have done exceedingly well to suppress and wipe it out which should be the Hon minister’s as well as Canada real concern as the Nation today is marching towards progress and prosperity where even the legitimately freedom loving Tamils are content with the actions of the Nation’s leader and oftentimes thankful to him for the state of the nation today!!.
Case in point~ The National Geographic has just recently listed Sri Lanka as “one of the greatest countries to visit” if it rings significantly enough for Sri Lanka’s critics to stop their bellyaching and raise a glass towards her future and those who restored it from the clutches of evil !

What is Canada relevant to Sri Lanka? What is Canada relevant to the world?
Canada has no political say in the world. It is just a place for people to come and live. The Canadian politicians can shout, whine and cry, but who listens to them? Maybe Canadians, who has to vote for someone to run their country. USA appears to be very good friend of Canada, but the US Establishment doesn’t give a damn about the Canadian politicians or their whims.
If the Canadians politicians are looking for their Tamil-Canadian vote, they’d say anything to get that vote. Do we care?

Today Canada has the largest Tamil population in the Western world and they are a powerful lobby group and congress with other Indians to achive their objectives. With the help of Socialists these Indians are a major political force in English speaking Canada. At the moment Canada has a minority government and is vulnerable.
There were hardly any Tamils in Canada before 1983 and the Indian Intelligence Service (Third Eye) was able to send more than 300000 Tamils to Canada in a short period.
Third Eye was very active in Canada in the 70s and 80s because of the Sikh terrorism. Now Tamils are the biuggest group of Indians in Canada.
Third Eye was very active in Canada against the Sikh separatism and they used the Socialists and Socialist Churhes to achive its objectives. Third Eye was behind the Tamil terrorism and was able to pump in so many Tamils through India to Canada.

The editorial is absolutely right – the root cause of the problem was terrorism. Terrorists were killing innocent civilians, law enforcemet officers, politicians, GOSL officials and for a long time the Sinhalese and GOSL were mere passive observers, whilst LTTE did all the racist killings., perhaps with the intention of creating a Tamil racist empire. Why is that there is no effective mechanism to communicate this basic truth to the world.

Canada’s Conservative Government has a parliamentary majority after the last General Election. Untiil recently The Conservatives of Canada as opposed to the Liberals had a no nonsence, zero tolerance policy towards the LTTE activities which had prevailed for years. Thr RCMP virtually drove their activists underground.The current Canadian attitude towards Sri Lanka seems different as they are now asking for accountability from the SL Government almost oblivious to the reality that there were no rights violations or crimes against humanity other than necessary military action taken to defend the nation from dangerous terrorists which put down the LTTE where a greater part of the world agrees that it was necessary and has done the world a favour.Ben has asked the million dollar question “Why is that there is no effective mechanism to communicate this basic truth to the world.” the answer to it probably being ~ its a convenience now to maintain the double standard in appeasing the Proactive Tamil Lobby who undoubtedly were Tamit Tiger sympathisers ~ but the truth will eventually surface!

It is very important to tell the truth to the world. If this is not done, Sinhalese and Sri Lanka will be discriminated and Tamils favoured by the world, as is happening now. Ordinary Sinhalese and Sri Lankas sufferred immensly due to Tamil racist terrorism. This has not been communicated to the world effectively. Looks like our missions abroad should learn to communicate effectively.

Ben_silva, the Sri Lankan government cannot do everything by itself. Ask yourself what is the Sinhalese diaspora is doing? Very little. Those who still think of Sri Lanka are busy mindlessly criticising Sri Lanka in their new countries. There is a cultural difference between Sinhalese and Tamils who settle abroad. The Tamils in true Hindu-Indian style maintain their separate identity through generations. The Sinhalese on the other hand tend to feather their own nest and stop thinking about Sri Lanka and other Sinhalese the moment they walk down the steps from the aeroplane or the boat. They also tend to want to assimilate into the culture of the countries they settle in – so in 1 generation, no more Sinhalese abroad! The descendants of the Sinhalese who arrived in Australia in the 1800s know hardly anything about Sri Lanka, let alone their culture. Some of them mistakenly think they are Aborigines or Pacific Islanders – no kidding. There was a recent case of a Mendis from Bundaberg who was claiming benefits specially set aside for the Aborigines until it had to be pointed out to him that he was not Aborigine but Sri Lankan. Australian government social security (Centrelink) even took legal action against him. Contrast with Tamils in Malaysia and Singapore for 500 years or Indians in South Africa, Fiji England, Canada etc. Their cultures are virtually intact after generations. Children whose grandparents were not even born in India who have never ever seen India, importing brides and bridgegrooms from their caste group in India, wearing traditional Indian clothes, speaking their languages etc! Unthinkable for Sinhalese children in the West even 1 year after arrival in the West wanting to copy hip hop Amercian fashions etc!

We personally know many Sinhala people abroad who are/were greatly concerned about the welfare of Sri Lankans. They have made sacrifices for the welfare of the country. They have contributed their time, energy and money to keep Lanka safer. However, the long war with the ltte has tired out some folks, and the political party system has further divided some of them. All these things will be remedied in the near future and Lanka will flourish once more. It is in the interests of everyone Sri Lankan to see that the country does well in the future. We all know this to be true, in the depths of our Hearts. True Happiness is found only in the deep Peace in each human Heart.
The greatest weakness of Lankans is wasting time and energy on trivia ….

@Fran Diaz, in my personal experience for every 1 dedicated person abroad there are 5 indifferent Sinhalese/Sri Lankans (or some who are mindlessly/habitually criticising the government of Sri Lanka, spreading baseless rumours about its leadership or untruths about Sri Lanka) or some even going so far as to agree with Tamil separatists propoganda. There is much needless angst and confusion about the supposed “contradiction” of being a good and loyal citizen of one’s new country and remaining concerned about the plight of a Sri Lanka needlessly plunged into an unnecessary terrorist propoganda war. But really – there is no contradiction! This topic is hardly ever discussed in a rational non-emotional way.

– Fran, in war if you get tired out, you get consumed. LTTE/separatist diaspora knows this well and is busy trying to exhaust us.
The sheer unrelentless dedication, fanaticism of the Sri Lanka-hating separatist diaspora is unmatched. Its sad to see dedicated Sri Lankans channeling their energy into evil purposes (eg murdering genuine and dedicated Tamils of the calibre of Kadirgamar). Hopefully one day this diabolical situation will end but at present I dont share your optimism. From where I am standing, there is no end in sight.
