Is Sri Lanka being turned into an Indian colony?

For a country that continues to withstand global pressures in an united effort to say Sri Lanka cannot be punished for eliminating a terrorist movement, for rehabilitating former LTTE cadres, for being magnanimous not to charge LTTE child cadres, for resettling Tamil civilians held by LTTE as hostages & human shields and for taking massive loans to develop areas that had been neglected by the LTTE for 30 years seems to be totally unaware that it is been subtly engulfed by India leading to Sri Lanka becoming another Indian colony before long.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What reasons does Sri Lanka have to be so indebted toIndia to be walking with our liberty. Is it because India helped train the LTTE and armed & financed them even allowing Tamil Nadu to be used as a transit point for weapons & other logistical requirements as well as for medical assistance?

Is it because we owe gratitude to India for allowing Prabakaran to be released in 1987 when he was cornered by our valiant troops which allowed Sri Lanka to suffer decades more of LTTE terror?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Are we to be indebted to India because it came up with the Indo-Lanka Peace Accord forcing Sri Lanka to amend its constitution & introduce the 13 amendment & the Provincial Council system as well as merging the North & East into 1 province? Are we to be grateful to India for sending its Peace Keeping force which went about killing our own Tamil brothers & sisters and leaving behind its weapons for the LTTE to use thereafter on the Sri Lankan army?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Are we to buy IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s version that it went against the LTTE after Rajiv GandhiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s assassination? He was killed in 1991 but LTTE still were freely using Tamil Nadu and moreover those accused of Rajiv GandhiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s killing are yet to receive their due sentence delayed because of Tamil Nadu antics!

Do we have to be grateful toIndia for pretending to be Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s friend but stabbing our country in the back? Was not the infamous ceasefire agreement of 2001 first endorsed byIndia before it was sent for signature toSri Lanka?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Do we owe gratitude toIndia for allowing one of its StateƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s (Tamil Nadu) to humiliate our country day in & day out? When we are well aware that these Tamil Nadu politicians are on LTTE payroll pocketing massive amounts of money for attackingSri Lanka?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ On what grounds do we really have to be indebted to India? All the trade agreements signed over the years have all been beneficial primarily to India & Indian investorƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s interest with perhaps miniscule benefit to single Sri Lankan investors which should hardly count. There is no significant gain for the country. The blame for these goes squarely towards Sri LankanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s signatory to these agreements for never having the interest of Sri Lanka at heart.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If Indian officials always put IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s interest first why cant Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s officials do the same? These roles are more than just doing oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s job.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For what do we owe gratitude toIndia is it because our leaders had to make trips every week to apprise an angryIndiasince it was annoyed that the cancer it created was days away from a solution. Interest in Tamil civilians was just an excuseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  it is because India did not sell weapons to us because it was more interested in Tamil Nadu votes but wanted our leaders to come worshipping to them? is it because India was doing its best behind the scenes to see the possibility of LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s continued existence through another ceasefire?

IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s quick incursion intoSri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s economic interests did not come the day following the LTTE defeat. Like all countries,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  contingency plans and these plans are what have been rolled out now.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Do we have to be indebted to India because India helped LTTEƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  prevail for decades and we have to open our doors for India to start ventures in oil, ports, telecommunications, rubber, banking, petroleum. every area of our polity and now they are expecting Sri Lanka to open its doors for Indian labor and each Ministry is signing away agreements enabling these wish lists of India to take shape.where are we really heading?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The question here is why did we fight for 30 years if not to make sure our nation remains unitary, sovereign & most of all maintains its Sri Lankan identity?

If post-war we are going to allow our nation to be fleeced like the colonial powers did and more than just been fleeced to have a nation large as India to just walk in and take over all our natural resources, open up investments that enable them to just sweep away smaller Sri Lankan investors into oblivion and to top it all allow free flow of Indians into Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  what is going to be the future for the Sinhalese, the Tamils, the Muslims and the Burghers? This is not how any of us envisage the future to be.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Certainly, Sri Lanka must maintain cordial relations. It is unfortunate that undue, unnessary pressures from the West which have been totally unwarranted & uncalled for has made Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s citizens loose faith in the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s democratic theories as they can see for themselves how hypocritical their actions are. In saying one thing and doing another it only demeans these nations in the eyes of our citizenry who have been watching global incidents with interest and foresight to weigh the truth over fiction.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is no requirement to be indebted to any nation for we have given in return more than we have taken. While leaders need to concentrate on the manipulations being thrown our way from the West a more alert team must counter every move India is making.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is now time for Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s leaders to seriously get their act together!

More news on the above article. May be the writer must add this.

Using war crimes, Geneva and UNHRC, India has demanded more and free oil exploration rights in Mannar basin.

One bugger (USA) throws the sticks and the other (India) collects falling fruit.

    This is a f* mafia.

  2. Lorenzo Says:

    Then they share.

This is a bloody mafia operation by India and USA.

Indians are all over buying land in uva welessa, eastern province ,northern province, controling the energy sector and imposing themselves on the country by regular visits of the Foreign minister etc. Yes you are right we are now a colony or fast becoming one. People are being kept ignorant. There is no hope for a country run on debt, corruption, violence and unaccountability.

Filthy Indians are not the problem. It is the spineless GoSL on its hands and knees to Indians and UNHRC. Mahinda Samarasinghe’s speech at the UNHRC clearly demonstrates that GoSL is on its hands and knees before racist Pillai woman. My stomach started to turn after Samarasinghe’s speech. Why is the fellow crying his eyes out to explain in that depth to the back hander woman Pillai and Hillary?

In India no foreigner is allowed to buy land or property. Buddha Gaya Nayaka thero Maitipe Wimalasara Maha Thero now in USA was locked up in remand for six months for buying a land to build a rest rooms for the Sri Lankan pilgrims. Why is the GoSL turning a blind eye to the Indians? Bring back Premadasa from his grave.

    Thanks writer. A great article.

There are only about 15 millions Sinhalese, add Moors, Burghers and Malays who are a blood relations, so may be 17 millon of Non -Indians in the island nation.

All Tamils and other Indians are arrivals or decendants of arrivals since 1792. Theyb are Indian colonial parasites. Navi Pillai is one from SA.

We should unite and lead the freedom fight against Indian Imperialists.

Try and avoid buying Indian goods and patronising Indian businesses.

Uncle Sam and Aunty Pillay is neither an enigma nor a riddle or a mystery. But they are the reql enemies of Sri Lanka.

Aim of the US is to divide this country but for a different reason to that of Tamils. The US wanted to setup military bases here and watch on the Chinese oil ships. They know that it is impossibility with President Rajapakse to have military bases in Sri Lanka. That is why they tried their best to get their man RanilW to the top. When they realised RanilW is a dead duck at long last, they tried it with Fonseka. When Fonseka failed the US got its alleys to back a born-again evangelist Sajith to replace RanilW. I bet ecumenical church is providing money for Sajith to go around temples.

The US has been instigating Indians to keep Chinese away from Sri Lanka for some time now. Surely they cannot be worrying about Indian unity. On the contrary they wanted to divide India too. Ever since Chinese construction of Hambantota harbour progressed smoothly, that US obsession started to multiply. They got their journalist puppets to write how bad the Chinese are and why Indians should be careful of them.

President Rajapakse’s pragmatic foreign policies, tact and tactics with Indian centre no doubt made Hindians calm and back Sri Lanka at the hour of our need every time to date bar outcome of folly by JRJ. And this time too it will be of no different at UNHRC. But in my opinion, it is the reality check of Hindian politics that had compelled Indians to back us not just at UNHRC but elsewhere in our effort to contain separatists aim. This must be written in detail to explain fully. As of now what is important is; they back us.

So never mind whether Indian are angles or devils, we need not bend backward to sign agreements with them if it is not favourable to us or import their goods if they are not comparatively cheaper than elsewhere or let them establish their business here if it is not beneficial to us. But for one thing, we mustn’t upset the apple cart.

Why are we so grateful to them? I have been told that they are our “relatives”. Do they know this? If so, they treat their “relatives” like poor cousins. Just ask the Dalits and other downtrodden Indians how their “big Indian family” treats their own relatives! The ruling “family” prefers to cringe to non-relatives in Western capitals! I wonder if the Maoists are brewing some trouble for them.

“India demands more oil exploration rights in the Mannar basin”. Indian oil exploration giant is Cairn (India) with offices based in New Delhi & CHENNAI (Tamil Nadu).

Cairn Head Office is In BRITAIN and is British owned. Here is the address: Cairn Oil Head Office, 50 Lothian Road Edinburgh EH3 9BY.

Britain & Russia already have already been allocated sectors for oil exploration off Mannar. Cairn Oil (India) is already there too.

Cairn holds 70% of all Indian oil that they have discovered in Rajasthan in a massive off shore oil field.

All in all, with Cairn being BRITISH owned, it is BRITAIN, and not India, that is the major stake holder in oil exploration off Mannar. Who said that the British left India !!

By the way, Trinco is almost right across Rev. Reyappu Joseph’s Mannar area. Tea areas, Trinco & Mannar are attractive.

Never SELL LANKA LAND TO FOREIGNERS. Only LEASES should be allowed with rules & regulations, up to a maximum of perhaps 30 yrs or less only. Sri Lanka can be saved if only we have the proper Laws in place.

Do we have the spine to deport all Illegal Migrants ?
