Question: How can countries let alone the UN solve the problem of terrorism when the nations preaching human rights fund rebels & terrorists and diplomatically embarrass Governments for their inefficiency to curtail terrorism?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Answer: Terrorism is not meant to be solved, stupid! Wars generate money & opportunity even the undertaker is a happy man! Terrorism is the perfect tool to exert pressures upon Governments and provides the perfect cover-up for hidden agendas!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The simple truth is that Terrorists exist because they are being armed & diplomatically supported to exist. If there had been honest and genuine unity to stop terrorism, there would be no terrorist movements existing today. International Humanitarian Laws are used against States that challenge these terrorists while nothing is done against the Terrorists. All International Humanitarian Laws were created by humans ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” therefore there is nothing stopping these world bodies from ensuring that clauses are in place so that terrorists are duly punished. All the present definitions in place only serve to delay punishing terrorists and provide them cover to continue their terror. There are no good terrorists when their primary objective is only to kill. There should be better ways to control Governments that do not follow its manifesto after election than arming terrorists to create total anarchy in a nation. In allowing terrorists to prevail, World Bodies & World Leaders are simply watching civilians suffer and civilization perish.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So, when Sri Lanka did the unthinkable it meant Sri Lanka upset the entire applecart and created a major tsunami for those making merry out of Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s terror for 3 decades which included Sri Lankan personalities as well. Having said that with a few remnants of the LTTE still floating around in & beyond Sri Lanka, with its terror financing unit very much alive and kicking in anger and foreign friends that remain open-mouthed for a possible resurrection of the LTTE, the possibilities are still open. Of course unlike Osama we know that Prabakaran is very much dead therefore the only drawback is to find another as ruthless as Prabakaran.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The hypocrisy of the West from whom we have a set of wonderful vocabulary filled with revered words like ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Human RightsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-accountabilityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-freedomƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-LibertyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦. was revealed when they openly declared that they would fund REBELS in Libya to oust President Gaddafi. Libya was a sovereign country, it was a member of the UN, it was a country that did not live on loansƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.in fact the UN was to praise Libya for its human rights record just months before Libya was attacked. Whatsmore, President Obama had asked Congress to increase US aid to Gaddafi to $1.7m just ONE MONTH before Gaddafi hounded down. European and British arms firms supplied Libyan rebels with hundreds of millions of pounds of military hardware. While the US despite the House of Representatives voting against funding Libyan rebels went ahead and did just that. The rest of the charade was carried out by western dominated media who led us to believe a different version and like Iraq, Afghanistan, EgyptƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦LibyaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s fall was inevitable, even US envoy at the UN said that the US had ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-not ruled outƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ channeling arms to rebels. This was announced on the floor of the UN! ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the UN did more than watch the masquerade take place, the ICC charged Gaddafi with crimes against humanity!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So how legal is it to supply arms to rebels?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ According to Mrs. Clinton & William Hague under the UN Resolution 1973 it was possible to arm rebels as well as carry out air strikes (authorizing no-fly zone).
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Under international law & UN resolutions 1970 & 1973 arming rebels/terrorists is illegal. If countries that have ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-armedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ rebels have breached international laws these countries have committed a criminal offense. Therefore the leaders of the US, France & UK are all guilty of committing war crimes. India should also face the same war crimes for arming the LTTE.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The UN Charter exists to prevent wars & ensure peace ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” which entails the UN to disallow any act of aggression.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ UNSC Resolution 1970 paragraph 9 specifically prohibits the supply of weapons to Libya: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Decides that all Member States shall immediately take the necessary measures to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, from or through their territories or by their nationals, or using their flag vessels or aircraft, of arms and related materiel of all types, including weapons and ammunition, military vehicles and equipment, paramilitary equipment, and spare parts for the aforementioned, and technical assistance, training, financial or other assistance, related to military activities or the provision, maintenance or use of any arms and related materiel, including the provision of armed mercenary personnel whether or not originating in their territories,…”

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By using Paragraph 4 of the UNSC Resolution stating countries could use ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-all necessary measuresƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to protect civilians does not qualify any nation to arm rebels. The key word is ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-nonwithstandingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ does not mean ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-substitutingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Nowhere is it stated that Paragraph 9 is revoked or replaced.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What would sovereign nations face if powerful nations decide to continue funding trained rebels to destabilize nations and overthrow elected governments?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Are we to expect anarchy in all the countries of the world simply because a few nations are greedy to grab the wealth of these nations and profit from their geographical locations?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Today, the rebels have no control over themselves even & with the massive amount of arms made available to them one can only imagine the situation in Libya. The West sleeps happy having struck oil!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Do we need to repeat that the US has infiltrated, invaded, bombed & destroyed more countries than any other nation to further the economic interests of a handful of greedy American corporates?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Do we need to repeat that the US is the only nation to use the ultimate weapon of mass destruction ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the atomic bomb (used twice).
Do we need to remind that the US uses chemical weapons? So what has been the accountability record of the US? And is the UN even monitoring the colossal amount of war crimes & crimes against humanity committed by American Governments over the past decades?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We all know what the US did in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” US has killed over 6m Southeast Asian citizens & now the US is targeting greater Asia. We also know that US used chemical weapons ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-herbicidal warfareƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, US dropped 100m pounds of Agent Orange & other herbicides over 4m acres of Vietnamese land resulting eventually in 25m acres of farmland & 12m acres of forest being destroyed. US had also experimented with poison gas & other toxics even so far as going to use influenza to cripple a village. We all have read about napalm been dropped in Vietnam another instance of chemical warfare. Even the Venezuelan President Chavez made a recent remark that the US could be responsible for Latin American leaders suffering from cancers! Similarly, Vietnamese suffered birth defects, multiple miscarriages ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the same is happening in Iraq & Afghanistan. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-If they turn on their radars we’re going to blow up their goddamn SAMs [surface-to-air missiles]. They know we own their country. We own their airspace…. We dictated the way they live and talk. And that’s what’s great about America right now. How can countries solve terrorism when the countries that calls to end terrorism actually helps terrorists to exist? What better example than the Osama-Bush connections! If US did not feel ashamed of its conduct in Vietnam it carried out the exact replica in Guatemala. More than 200,000 Guatemalans died as a result. What happened to Noriega was similar to that experienced by Husni Mubarak. Both former ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-friends of the USƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ PanamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Noriega soon became a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-brutal dictatorƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ & Mubarak of Egypt suffered the same fate.

Indian intelligence was responsible for arming, training & supporting the LTTE. It would take volumes to highlight the other powerful nations that have been involved in similar activities. So what has the UN/UNHRC/ICC done against these countries? We simply cannot have a fabricated quest to end terrorism while powerful nations create, support, arm & diplomatically protect terrorists.

Why did these entities allow the US to use the excuse of 9/11 to avenge the killing of US citizens by killing thousands of innocent civilians in foreign countries? By watching killing of innocent people the UN/UNHRC has done far more damage than even terrorists & their terror acts.

There is a group of people who benefit from terrorism around the globe and they are the arms manufacturers and arms dealers. Their livelihood entirely depends on the existence of violence and they will do whatever possible to keep violence alive. Just figure out the biggest arms manufacturing nations and then the truth will become obvious. The sad story is that the Tamil people who have a rich culture are those who have been successfully used as a ‘cat’s paw’ by the arms manufacturers to keep the flames of violence alive.

What a wonderful and bold article from Shenali! Perhaps it would be useful to circulate this article to all the Asian, African and Mid-eastern countries’ embassies and High Commissions as it would hopefully open up their eyes to the atrocities perpetrated by the US and their allies. Our own ambassadors and High Commissioner’s and those who have been responsible for appointing them over the last three decades should be ashamed of themselves as most of these individuals have not done anything for Sri Lanka, but have gained their own selfish ends using their offices. That is why the LTTE could establish so well in these western countries. Shame!

As Sri Lankans are weak people in the world political stage we can only whine.
Check the recent world history in order to see how the word terrorism originated. In 1948, Israel began because of terrorism. Those acts – what ever they did to win a country for them was called terrorism.
Powerful countries fought two world wars and they could not subjugate the world. Even a recent article in Lankaweb that how many times US had thought of using small countries that did not listen or that could not be subjugated.
Sri Lanka, again has become a strategically important in regional politics. So, no point of talking about justice.
We know very well now, law enforcement and justice, right and wrong and morality and ethics are all for the weak people. Even the Christian ideology which introduced morality and ethics did not think about those words when they engaged crusades. Anyway, that is extra.
Where in the world law enforcement, justice etc., etc., equally applied for every one ?
If not we have to work wise. Sri Lanka did not do that. We were too excited with the war victory and thought anything and every thing is possible.
My only wish is we won’t lose every thing we gained because the resolution is planned in that way.
US and others could not do it with the help of LTTE. Now, UN will do that.

start an up rising in the north by brining her navy as pilgrims. Hilary Clinton has promised Jayalalitha if such an event can be staged before the end of the Geneva carnival she will some how arm them and send undercover operatives. The mayhem was succssfulin Delft Island, but the Special Task Force opened fire and killed two Jayalaitha Navy men. What jayalaitha coud’t figure out was the fact that if Sri Lankan military is attacked, then the retaliation come within a heart beat.
My understanding is that Shenali is not in good health, but if it wasn’t then she could go to the north and mingle with Tamils and get a first hand report of how the Jayalalitha Navy men attempt to penetrate the Jaffna University and its staff.

USA cannot get involved here because of China, India and Russia. That is why they operate through agents like Libya, Syria, Iran, etc. We have to screww these US agents dead including TNA. If Syria could wipe out the “rebels” within a few weeks, all this BS won’t be happening. It is these agents and their families we should go after.

In view of ceaseless serious violation of human rights and war crimes committed and being committed by USA, what is this masquerade in Geneva asking Sri Lanka to implement its own Commission report.
America did not help the Government of Sri Lanka to end terrorism. It is coming only now to intervene to see “how Sri Lanka eliminated terrorism” ,not to learn lessons for them to follow, but to accuse and call for accountability.
USA should withdraw the resolution against Sri Lanka if they are a country with any sense of shame.

Lorenzo, we have to be careful how ethnic composition in the country changes. Any GOVERNMENT facilitation of non-Tamils settling the north would result in separatists and NGOs the world over screaming “genocide” (they distort the true meaning of genocide) from the rooftops and of course their favourite chant “discrimination”. This in turn will trigger more international resolutions and economic sanctions against us. Even countries like China and Pakistan, who have been friendly towards us, will be bullied by the West and UN to boycott us. Then they will “trigger” opposition and public demonstrations within Sri Lanka to topple the government. Next thing there will be mayhem and the TNA agents and LTTE “sleepers” will be reactivated to start the killings, bombings and assassinations all over again. They will call us a “failed state” and try to use R2P to intervene. Do we have a plan to deal with this? I doubt the GOSL or the Sri Lankan people have seriously considered this prospect. The problem is our governments tend to be re-active rather than pro-active. This is one of the challenges of democracy. Without government ensuring the safety of non Tamil settlers in the north, it is unlikely the Tamil community will make it easy for them to settle there. Even if this happens, suppose there is a more balanced ethnic distribution across the country, then the separatists will adopt PLAN 2 which is to engage Tamil Nadu more strongly against us. There will be border incursions, cross border terrorism, impersonation, infiltration and all kinds of sabotage. Has the GOSL or Sri Lankan people seriously considered this prospect and how to counter it should it arise? I doubt it. Only hope for us is for US and EU economic and diplomatic power to decline rapidly and rise of China, BRIC and other neutral countries. Our problem could fester like this for another 50 years and the outcome is still uncertain. Remember sabotage is happening globally not just to us. China and other 3rd world countries are also being sabotaged and sujugated, so the US and EU could emerge victorious, stronger than ever and it would be easy for them to divide the country and arm a resurgent LTTE to assassinate all Sri Lankan leadership and to drive out or otherwise perform genocide on all the non Tamils in Sri Lanka including Sinhalese, Muslims and Burghers. Do we have a plan to counter this? I doubt it. Time for action but how we act is the question.

Oh I forgot, there is one possible option that we have neglected – exert our influence in Tamil Nadu and their internal politics more forcefully King Parakramabahu style. Just like they are using our Tamil community to undermine us, we have to train our own people to be fluent in Tamil and to mingle and masquerade amongst them and promote our interests over there. We have to be ready to invest in Tamil Nadu politicians and lobby various media and interest groups etc. We also should start doing this much more seriously in the West, taking legal action against terror sympathisers, false media reporting, forming our own lobby groups, encouraging non Tamil Sri Lankans to settle, take out citizenship and form political lobby groups in key western countries etc. This will be our insurance, should the west be resurgent and trump the non western powers like China. We shouldnt put our eggs into one basket. The future is too uncertain.

* Yes, by all means make the North & East multi-ethnic as is possible.
* At the same time, stop illegal migration, plus deport all illegal migrants, say, at least for the last 10 yrs.
* Also, educate the public of Sri Lanka why it is that Tamil people flee Tamil Nadu i.e. due to Caste/poverty issues.

Amidst all the talks about democracy by the western countries including those newly populated colonies such as US, immigrants in those countries are forced to learn the majority language. They have to practice the majority culture to a certain extent in order to stay in contact with the majority culture. So, that allows not only social integration but also assimilation into their society. Most second generation immigrants are foreign to their parents’s culture, language etc.
Sri Lanka had a different structure. As western ideology is dominating every where. We need to think that way and must mix tamils with other ethnic groups and need to force integration and beyond.
Most sri lankan people do not recognize the direction they are moving. Politicians are busy in the development of their lives.

Great article Shenali…we indebted to you for your writings. You wrote in your last para

Yes, if you have an interest in history since the time of Ancient Babylon and other ancient civilisations wether Egyptian, Greek, Roman or Indian and European colonial empires that came after that. One thing is clear to me, there has always been ruthless Oligarchy from each who were hell bent on domination of others. In other words Imperialism.
“Greedy Sadistic inhumans..” as you say to us. But they who control these powerful countries, see it as part of their psychological make up to behave like this.
Shenali let me offer and explanation why these powerful countries, rather those who rule those countries behave like this.
I think Lord Buddha offered the best explanation and its listed in the Buddhist Book the Dhammapada.
Lord Buddha said
“It is better to conquer yourself
Than to win a thousand battles.”
In other words its better to conquer yourself than to conquer the world.
The reason why Sri Lanka is being targeted and other countries is because, they the western corporate oligarchy that controls the west and much of the world would rather conquer the world than conquer themselves.
According the the Buddha these corporate elites of the west in other words have gone for the lesser prize of conquering the world rather than conquering themselves.
This is why the world is in the mess that it is and that there is so much war and destruction and countries becoming subjugated like Iraq or Libya.
If you analyse the history since Babylon most rulers have behaved like this. They believe just because they belong to a particular bloodline they have a darwinist right to subjugate others. Hence we have Imperialism in the world.
Since the ultimate form of Imperialism for these elites is one world government rule by them.
However Lord Buddha would argue with the Elites and challenge what good of you having a one world government which you rule if you haven’t conquered yourself first. I am sure this is what he would say.
Don’t forget Lord Buddha was born into an Elite family himself so he knows the mentality of the powerful.
The only powerful elite person in history who bucked this trend was King Ashoka. Who was part of a powerful Oligarchy that controlled India at the time. If you read up on his life, he wanted to expand his empire in fact he wanted to conquer world if he could. He certainly had a good enough army to do it.
Its only after a devastating battle where he saw first hand saw the suffering and misery he caused because he wanted to be an imperialist and expand his empire.
Fortunately Buddhism had taken root in india. So as he was looking for answers he one day met a Buddhist practitioner and the rest as they say is history. He became one of the best leaders of human history.
This is the challenge the human race face I believe right now.
We got a powerful Oligarchy hell bent on world domination and a one world government and we have got the rest of humanity saying NO. We would like to keep our independence, sovereignty and individual cultures and traditions.
That is why I hope Sri Lanka digs deep and absolutely totally defeats this motion by America outright.
They should be able to this resolution by the imperialist United States is totally rediculous I can’t believe Sri Lanka even to even defend itself in Geneva when it has done nothing wrong. Compare that to the human rights abuses by America in the last 200 years.

Sl community leaders from Australia, US, EU should arrange a meeting in Canada with high commissioner. at her residence or any other chosen place. This type of meeting is request to discuss all missing info and put a foundation for a new era.
