Member States of UNHRCouncil should understand the dangerous implication of USA resolution against Sri Lanka on Developing Countries.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Can the 47 Member States participating in the UNHuman Rights Council Sessions after the news of the massacre of 16 young and old Afghan Villagers by a ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Soldier of the USArmed forces still want to beƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  fooled by AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢sƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  pretended respect for human rightsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by moving a resolution against Sri Lanka ?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ America is incapable ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  maintaining discipline of its own Soldiers serving in Afghanistan who kill Afghan Civilians for fun and cut off fingers as mementos, orƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  run into villages and kill young and old Afghans. Today America takes the lead as the country which has committedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the mostƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  number of war crimes and violation of human rights, given its claim to be a civilized democracy.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is from the shadow of this shameless gruesome violation of human rights and murders USA has come out to move a resolution against Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is a strange type of a resolution as resolutions go.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is against Sri Lanka but does not accuse Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is just to bully Sri Lanka, with ulterior motives, a resolution that USA can very well do without.

But yet there is more to it than meets the eye. It depends greatly on AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s belief that they can with their power and wealth (which is on the descent) fool the whole world and bring itƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  under their control.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  We thought that the 44th President of America would be different from those who went before him.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But unfortunately President Barack ObamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s StateƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Department seems to be the worst.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is time that the President Barack Obama wakes up before he is lead further by his nose to make himƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-fall likeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  humpty dumpty from his wallƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It appears from reports that ,China, Russia, Algeria, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand stood against the resolution of USA, but India, African countries and Latin American nations remained silent.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ India is unfortunatelyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  like a tail wagging the dog.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  India is wagged by Tamil Nadu. It is unnatural, and unbelievable that India, a fast developing Nation claiming leadership of Asia allows it to be ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- wagged by its Tamil Nadu tail.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The Tamil Nadu politicians Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi , Vaiko and the rest of them have peanuts inside their heads in place ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  grey matter.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They have not reached political maturity. Jayalalitha won the election promising people refrigerators, grinders, andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  lap tops to school .children.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  How can we expect suchƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  politicians to have any understanding ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  international political involvements and preservation of Sovereignty of a State ?

http://www.4to40.com/newsat4/index.asp?p=Jayalalitha_freebies_to_voters

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 27 States and 7 Union Territories of India helps it to go forward , but ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ it ii only the State ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Tamil Nadu that keeps pulling India backwards.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Hence India cannot take a decision being pushed forward ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by some States, and backwards by Tamil Nadu.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But African Member States cannot hesitate at the Geneva UNHR Council when it comes toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  vote against the American Resolution against Sri Lanka, because their plight will not be different from that of Sri Lanka if they seriously ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ begin to develop their countries.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  America will not help developing countries, we the under developed ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ countries had been following the West ever since we became independent, but what have the West given us.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It was the establishment of the Soviet Union that saw the beginning of ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the developing countries becoming Independent from colonial rule.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Today America and the West have not the monopoly of the leadership over the decolonised Independent Nations of the World .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  China and Russia have replaced the old older, and they have become more generous to developing countries.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is time the developing Nations seek new partners for their development. The West became rich exploiting the natural wealth ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the developing countries, but have they done any thing in return ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to develop those countries ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Even todayƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  America and the West use the developing countries to the furtherance of their own political strength and to use the strategic position of some of the countries for the maintenance of the leadership in the world by doing all they can to ward off the influence of China and Russia among the developing Nations.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Hence in Geneva there is no necessity for the African Countries to hesitate going against the aggressive self centred ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ policies adopted by America, and show their refusal to be the lackeys of USA and the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ West by voting against the resolution America has moved against Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What is the danger of the Resolution America has presented against Sri Lanka ? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ On the face of it, it looks harmless interference in an internal matter of Sri Lanka, but that harmless simplicity is the trap that America is laying to Sri Lanka which would be later followed with other developing countries.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is a means to move into a Sovereign States and interfere into its internal affairs from within, and facilitate regime changes, thus making any Sovereign StateƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  dependent on them allowing its territories to be used for their benefit. It is another form of colonialism we should be careful to avoid.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TheƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  US Ambassador Eileen Chamberlain DonahoeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  speaking to the press on 22 February,2012, after America presented its resolution against Sri Lanka to the Human Rights Council, said , ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- We have taken this step upon careful reflection and after extensive dialogue and bilateral engagement at the highest levels of the U.S. government. ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What is strange in that Statement of Ambassador Donahoe is that when the people of Sri Lanka were going through untold sufferingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  under a ruthless terrorism for 30 long years, America or its alliesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  did not ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ make any ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-careful reflectionsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-extensive dialoguesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, or ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- bilateral engagements at the highest levels of the US GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to stop the terrorists sowingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  their dastardly terror on the people of Sri Lanka and its people.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When America and its allies were absentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  during the terrorism, when the terrorists were having a free hand killing , murdering, massacring, exploding claymore bombs and suicide bombs killing and maiming old and the young , Sri Lanka having had enoughƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of the terrorists turned to a military solution and still unaided by the now most concerned America, waged a military operation against the terrorists and eliminated terrorism in May,2009.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Still without the now ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- concerned and very much present humanitarian AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ , the President of Sri Lanka appointedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the LLRC a commission to investigate how the war had beenƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  conducted and what had been its effect on the people, and find means to reconcile the differentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Communities in Sri Lanka affected by the terrorism and the military operations against the terrorists.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The LLRC presented its report very recently and the GovernmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  set about implementing the recommendations of the Commission without waiting to be coaxed by America.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Now the America has barged in taking a strange sympathy to the people of Sri Lanka, taking over the report of the LLRC, and asking the Government of Sri Lanka to implement the recommendations. This is the most uncalled for interference into the internal affairs of a Sovereign State.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What a foolish thing to do as the Government of Sri Lanka which appointed the LLRC needs not be coaxed now by America to implement the recommendations made by its own Commission.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This is where the 47 Member States of the Human Rights Council should open their eyes wide and understandƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  for themselves the most intolerable attitude of USA to come out

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with a resolution against Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  asking for the implementation of the recommendationsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the LLRC appointed by the President of Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In order to understand why America has moved this absurdƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Resolution, we should give careful attention to ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ what the American Ambassador ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Donahoe says, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- In this regard, we reiterate our long-expressed willingness to work in partnership with the government of Sri Lanka on this resolution, and on the broader issues of reconciliation and accountability.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s intension is revealed in that statement .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is in other words a means for America to interfere into Sri Lanka, withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  its ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- willingness in partnership with the Government of Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ America wants to set up a special ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-mechanismƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  control the implementation of the recommendationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of LLRC. That would enable them to control the Chinese activities in Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

The American Embassy in Sri Lanka has already American Soldiers, in a controlling ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- . In the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-mechanism proposed by AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in its ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ resolution against Sri Lanka will certainly haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  CIA agents and Soldiers. That way America will be controlling all activities of Sri Lanka from within andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  stop its reconciliation process, unity and development of the Country. It will haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the necessary control over Chinese and Russian influence in the area, and in the Indian Ocean.

The danger in it is that,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  this would be made a precedence to have similar Western Controlling mechanisms within developing countries so that they will be able to interfere militarily insideƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  a developing country without the necessary sanction of the UNSecurity Council.

This resolution is not intended to condemn; indeed, it acknowledges the contributions of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC), which has made many constructive recommendations to the Sri Lankan government. However, many international and domestic observers share our conclusion that the government has not yet promulgated a credible action plan for implementation of those recommendations, nor has it taken the additional needed steps since the war to foster national reconciliation.

The American Ambassador Ms.Donahoe tries to make the Resolution against Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  looks like an ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-simple affairƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by saying , ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦Our intention is clear: we want the countries of the world to join in encouraging the government of Sri Lanka to take the steps needed to ensure meaningful and lasting national reconciliation after a long conflict, to reach out sincerely to the Tamil population and bring them back in to the national life of Sri Lanka, and to ensure accountability for actions taken during the warƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

The Tamil people living in Sri Lanka are quite happy with the government, and the Tamils in Sri Lanka are the brothers, sister and children of one Nation of Sri Lankans.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  America and other Western countries need not interfere to help Sri Lanka in furthering its unity, peace and security.

It is a few disgruntledƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Tamil politicians seeking political power, and the Tamil Expatriates who haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  at their disposalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the collected blood money of the Sri Lanka terrorists , but who know nothing of the ground reality in Sri Lanka where the ethnic difference is fast disappearing, that is seeking to project in the West the communal difference in Sri Lanka and give false information that the Tamils areƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  being discriminated againstƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by the Sinhala Majority.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The fact that there is no such discrimination will be seen only by an unprejudiced objective witness of the present situation in Sri Lanka.

The US AmbassadorƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  DanahoeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  states, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Time is slipping by for the people of Sri Lanka. Together with the international community we want to work with Sri Lanka in order to bring lasting peace to the island. We firmly believe that action now in this Council reflects the international communityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ongoing interest in and support for action on the ground in Sri Lanka. Numerous international and domestic observers have echoed our concern that the government of Sri Lanka must now establish domestic processes that will sow the seeds of lasting peace on the ground. With this resolution, the countries of the world can extend their hand of cooperation to help all the people of Sri Lanka achieve that goal.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»

Sri Lanka does not want any one to interfere in to the on going reconciliation efforts of the government, least of allƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  that of USA and the West.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Sri Lanka has no problem accommodating the Tamils as they are a part and parcel of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

The President of Sri Lanka Mr.Mahinda Rajapakse said immediately after the elimination of the terrorists, that there is no majority and minorities in Sri Lanka, but there are only those who love Sri Lanka and those who do not.

The Member States of the UNHuman Rights Council attending the 19th session will understand that America is joining hands withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the Tamil politicians seeking their personal political benefits and the expatriate Tamils who know nothingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  about what is really going on in Sri Lanka, to accentuate a Tamil ethnic problem.

AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ulterior motive is ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to set up ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-officeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ within Sri Lanka to deepen the ethnic difference and break the territorial unity of the country, by helping antigovernment forces.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  America and its allies ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will thus overcome the necessity for UNSecurity Council sanction and avoid the veto ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  China and Russia ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  giving military support to any ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-rebel groupƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ inside Sri Lanka along with their all powerful NATO forces if necessary.

The Government of Sri Lanka is a government of the people of Sri Lanka and not a government for the Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The government of Sri Lanka had never nor will ever distinguish its people by race, colour or religion.

We therefore request the Member States of the UN Human Rights Council to oppose the American resolution against Sri Lanka in one voice.

I think,US had an Asian spring on Maldive Island. They may be trying it on Sri Lanka too.

  2. stanley perera Says:

What would be the situation if SL left the UNO? The intention of the USA is to set up an administrative arm of the UNHRC within SL. making GoSL a pupet government. What did the west do to Mugabe? Some may call him a tyrant. But he had the guts to stand up on his own feet and at his old age going strength to strength. If SL left the UNO that may be the stepping stone for the UNO Asia. China Russia India will represent majority world population. Russia is becoming more and more vociferous against USA, Hillary and Obama administration. But bloody indians cannot be trusted. We won the war with the help of Russia, China and Pakistan. Then the bloody Indians were sitting on the fence supporting Nadoos. With Russia entering into world affairs may be a good idea to convince them to think about UNO ASIA.

  3. aravinda Says:

The 16 Afghans, mainly women and children were murdered in a raid by American troops. The American apologist Karazai said this and changed his mind when reprimanded by USA. How can a single, drunk, mentally unstable man walk in to a Afghan villege in war zone, kill 16 people, burn bodies and walk back to camp. One possibility…SUPERMAN! By blaming one man, members of this well planned attack walked free. I wonder what happened to UNHCR, Amnesty International, Tutu, Pillai, concerned NGOs and other hangers on? Not a word from them.

West love to make an Afghanistan in Sri Lanka. Our unity is only defense. Americans have now realized, without racial conflict, it is hard to retard Sri Lankan economy. They are trying to sow seeds for another generation of blood and gore. The Monkeys in Tamil Nadu parliament are running with a picture of a dead boy. Act of GOD. What you do to others come back to you (book of Matthew). LTTE murdered more than 10,000 children in Sri Lanka. Will someone speak for them!

  4. Dilrook Says:

We cannot leave UNO. There will not be any Asian organisation that can rival UNO in the near future. We have to work within this frame.

USA was in the thick of creating this Jaffna Vellala mentality since 1823 which is the root cause of this conflict. US missionaries built a massive and world class educational institutions in Jaffna. They have Jaffna Vellalas an unfair advantage in education.

The dismantling process started in early 1900s with Arumuga Navalar forcing American missionaries to get out. Then the Hindu revivalist movement got rid of US missionaries in the north. Today another method is needed to bring Jaffna Vellalas in line with the rest of the Tamil community. USA is not allowing this to happen.

A solution must be found internally. But the government has not come up with any such solution based on ethnic integration and coexistence.

India will not be voting for the resolution which is good news based on information available so far. However, India will do the same thing demanded in the resolution by other means. This is even more dangerous.

  5. Ananda-USA Says:

Let SL REDUCE the DIPLOMATIC presence and TERMINATE all “cultural” and “democracy building” activities in Sri Lanka of all countries that sponsored the UNHCR initiative against Sri Lanka. These activities are only designed to undermine and destabilize Sri Lanka.

Let SL CLOSE the Embassy of NORWAY, that has UNDERMINED Sri Lanka and aided terrorism in Sri Lanka for DECADES!

If India VOTES against Sri Lanka, let us stop accepting Indian Aid for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction for the North & East, and reduce Indian diplomatic presence in SL to ONLY the Indian Embassy in Colombo.

Let us also RETALIATE AGAINST the harrassment of Sinhala Sri Lankan citizens in Tamil Nadu with a PROHIBITION against visits by Indian Tamils to Sri Lanka. Let us not engage in business activities with Tamil Nadu based businesses.

ENEMIES should be TREATED as ENEMIES, and Sri Lanka should be protected from their underhand activities.

  6. stanley perera Says:

Ananda, your proposal is good provided the GoSL got the guts to do it. The only person who could have done it was late President Premadasa. Indians are most unreliable and untrustworthy neighbour. For that Pakistan is a very sincere friend. How much longer are we to tolerate the Indian ripoff. Can’t we ever mind our own business without the Indian interference?

  7. AnuD Says:

As Ananda-USA Sri Lanka needs to be assertive with India and particularly TN.

We have to understand that most western countries support no one except themselves.

  8. thurai Says:

USA resolution against Sri Lanka in Geneva lead to unrest in the Region and not for assisting suffered Tamils.
Voice of Tamilnadu Politicians in Delhi assist TN politicains escape from their own problems and disurb peace
    with neighbouring States,
Tamil Terrorist who fueling these incidents are living safty and unidentified.

  9. Fran Diaz Says:

We think we should secure the country from within. Getting advice or other forms of help from different sources is alright once the basic structures within the country are secured. I will attempt here to put some facts together in a simple way.

Best do what is life supportive for everyone concerned, i.e. ban ethnic based (and religion based ones at a future date) political parties. Ethnic base political parties drag outside sources to interfere in Lanka matters in an inimical manner. Also, deport all illegal migrants and stop all illegal migration in future. As things stand, Lanka appears to be offering itself as a sort of sacrifice on the alter for various troubled sources all over the world, and get bullied to distraction.

There are, of course, other aspects that must be improved greatly such as writing in new Laws or removing old ones in the Constitution, particularly those imposed on Lanka by outside sources. Election processes have to improved on, with MPs having to be better educated and the number of political parties on the register reduced to about 20 (from over 100 at present). Corruption must stop at all levels. An Oath of Allegiance to Lanka a must by all citizens here.

As things are, Lanka is just only waiting for the ghastly inevitable to happen, piecemeal. Once divided or taken over, Lanka will never be the same again, nor will we able to put it together again. Change is inevitable in a lot of ways, but change for the worse should not be tolerated by any Lankan.

  10. Kit Athul Says:

Stanley, excellent comments, now focus on Tamiol Nadu. Separate India from Tamil Nadu and ask why India is so afraid of Tamil Nadu Tamils? Answer: it is because JAYALALITHA has aprivate army and a Navy!
