Sri Lanka asks: Why is Prabakaran’s son death any different from Children killed by LTTE?

We ask the international community just one question.
Why does international media, NGOs & Human Rights Groups and UN members attention get diverted ONLY towards a picture of a dead terrorist leaders son ignoring footage of innocent civilians & children killed by LTTE strikes over 30 years and not a single foreign documentary was released accusing LTTE of war crimes to seek justice for these killings?
As expected sponsors have guaranteed Channel 4 another sequel to Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Killing Fields which shows an image of PrabakaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s son killed on 18 May 2009. No sooner it hit the internet foreign media all began to give prime time news coverage referring to the image as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-barbaricƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ calling it a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-chilling piece of footageƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Jon Snow Channel 4ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s presenter describes the clipping as a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-horrific sceneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.
As was expected the new video has gained international condemnation against Sri Lanka and well timed to coincide with the US resolution on Sri Lanka at the UNHRC sessions.
Can an image tell if the terrorist leaderƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s son was killed in cold blood, or that his bodyguards were tied and killed before shooting the child by barbaric Sri Lankan forces?
To prove this Channel 4 presents Prof. Derrick Pounder, a forensic pathologist at Dundee University who has analysed the image and arrives at the following conclusions?
That the boy was shot 5 times rather than killed in combat duty.
Prof. Derrick Pounder says that the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-speckling from propellant tattoingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ indicates the weapons muzzle was 2 or 3 ft or less from the dead boyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s chest. Prof. Derrick suggests that the boy could have even touched the gun with his hands. He does not say anything about the boy wearing clothing when shot since clothing is an important feature in determining gun shot wounds!
Prof. Pounder says the boy had fallen backwards after this gunshot whilst the shooter stood over him and fired the other shots. Prof. Pounder concludes ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-this is a murderƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ or in Channel 4ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s terminology ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-executionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ by Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s armed forces.
If by looking at an image and concluding the cause of death to be an ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-executionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ & cold blooded murder is there any reason to conduct autopsies? It is believed that about 25% of the time, an autopsy will reveal a different cause of death than the one everyone believes is the cause of death! Moreover forensic experts almost always order x-ray examinations whenever a firearm is involved. Prof. Pounder however could have derived at a psychological autopsy having spoken to LTTE front organizations!
Prof. Pounder also says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-it was possible the boy was made to watch the execution of his bound and blindfolded guards before the gun was turned on himƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. How does Prof. Pounder know that the 5 men were his bodyguards & who told him? Can someone in the UK looking at an image give a credible theory about the cause of death, what led to the death, the surrounding environment of the deceased and ascertain that death was due to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-executionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ without even examining the body ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” do we then need to conduct autopsies at all?
Now we come to the part where an investigation is called for on the death of a terrorist leaderƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s son which brings us to next ask ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” was the deaths of the innocent children killed by the LTTE not important enough for the international community to cry ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-war crimes by LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚?
These are just some examples of how LTTE targeted & killed children.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In June 2006, Sixty four innocent civilians including 15 children were killed and 87 others injured as the LTTE detonated twin claymore mines targeting a jam-packed civilian bus plying to Kebithigollewa.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In April 2006, LTTE hacks a young mother while she was breastfeeding in Serunuwara in Trincomalee.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 2000 Batticoloa, LTTE bombs a Buddhist festivity near a temple killing 29 people including 6 children.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 1999 LTTE attacked 3 villages in Ampara. 58 Sinhalese villagers including 17 women, 2 pregnant mothers and 14 children were hacked to death with machetes & knives including those that were sleeping. Those who tried to seek refuge in the jungles were chased & killed.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In November 1995 an LTTE female suicide bomber exploded herself near a railway station in Colombo killing 15 children.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In November 1995 LTTE attack Siyambalanduwa village hacking to death 5 children the youngest just 18months.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 1988, a suicide bomber exploded himself in a passenger bus killing 34 civilians including 7 children.
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In June 1987, Arantalawa LTTE dressed in Sri Lanka commando army uniforms cut & chopped to death 33 student Buddhist monks on a pilgrimage
*ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In May 1985, LTTE dressed in Sri Lanka Army uniforms attack Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s sacred city of Anuradhapura and shoot at the Buddhist devotees killing 146 including children praying to Buddha. On the same day LTTE raid an ancient village also in Anuradhapura killing 18 villagers including women & children.
This is just a handful of examples that depict pre-meditated attacks by the LTTE which certainly denotes war crimes & crimes against humanity yet the international community never gave air time nor took these matters before the UN or UN Human Rights sessions to discuss any resolutions to end. Instead what was suggested was peace talks, negotiations & ceasefires which gave room for LTTE to regroup, rearm & renew its strategies to kill.
At this stage Sri Lanka needs to also remind the world that Prabakaran was cornered by Sri Lankan troops in July 1987 before he could use Tamils as human shields and without a single civilian loss of life in any accidental cross fire. Sri Lanka could have ended terrorism but India demanded PrabakaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s release threatening to send its troops to Sri Lanka if Sri Lanka refused.
This single incident is important for several reasons ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” since 1987, Sri Lanka has had to endure unprecedented acts of barbaric terror and when LTTE has needed breathing space the world suggested peace talks.
In using an image to cry foul and accentuate Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s guilt of war crimes, the international community must first answer why a terrorists son gains importance over other children who have over 3 decades been hacked, knived, shot or killed by suicide attacks?
These dead children and their parents deserve an answer for they would feel extremely hurt that so much outpouring prevails over a terroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s son when only a diplomatic statement was officially sent when their children were killed mercilessly by the LTTE ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” especially when the President of the US flanked by his generals & US Secretary of State were watching an unarmed Osama being killed by US troops in Pakistan via satellite tv!

It was not a conventional war. It was a fight to eliminate thousands of very well armed civilians and some Bata -slippers wearing LTTE-soldiers. LTTE used all the dirty tricks in the books. Soldiers had to annihilate the enemy as well as they had to look after themselves from dirty tricks of LTTE.
Now, they think that we are still forgetful Mahavamsa Mindset. They are saying the same thing assuming at one point we may forget the truth and, instead, we may believe what they say.
LTTE also did not like showing Velu’s dead body and saying that he had surrendered before his death.

I Think, we have this many problems because we are a Buddhist country. If we harboured hatred and kill each other until the total annihilation of one group as happened in former Yugoslovia or in Sudan, IC would be happy. Then they would come divide the country, may jail a few and things will happen as they please.

When the LTTE were engaged in merciless killing of innocent children, women, and men from all the three communities in Sri Lanka many high ranking leaders of LTTE were allowed to live in the western countries and carry on with their terrorist activities. Some of the leaders included, Anton Balasingam, his wife, Adela, Kittu ( before he died he lived in London and Paris, Lawrence THilagar, Rudrakumaran (Legal adviser to the LTTE). There were LTTE coordinating offices across Europe.

Don’t expect ANY justice to all those innocents killed by the LTTE.
We should have retaliated those crimes by killing pro LTTE losers of similar standing. That would have been the ONLY justice to the victims.
That should have awoken the international community too.
Now it is too late.
At least the next time if any non Tamils are killed in pursuance of any Tamil demand retaliate them at least 1 for 1. That will be the ONLY justice the victims would EVER have. Otherwise no justice whatsoever.

What Sir Lanka has done so far is the correct approach.
Keeping no prisoners at war times is also the correct approach.
Our problem is wee have too many cowardly betrayers. Otherwise how can any kind of vedio be obtained by the western enemy ? These foolish betrayers sell anything for money in order to buy western conveniences and gadgets.
These enimeis within will even sell their mother.
Governement should somehow catch them.
We should alos be very carefull of these betrayers pretending to be Sinhala Buddhist and instigate conflicts.

Shenali past is past. All the shit terrorism has gone from our beloved Motherland. Prabakaran is history. Prabakaran and the L.T.T.E was the brainchild of India to divide our nation. They will all suffer one day by humans or by nature. Our little homeland is innocent and we have a wonderful history that we can be proud of.
Our political traitors and greedy NGO’s are the cause for all the troubles we are facing today. We must be united and fight under the flag of SRI LANKA without party color or race or religion. We are all one and one country. Those who betray the Motherland should be tried in our courts of justice and put them behind bars for treason. When the Govt.has the one third majority in the parliament it’s easy to make new laws to bring these traitors to justice.

TNA/LTTE rump, for months had licked USA to get this resolution off the ground. Finally, we see all the snake heads rising up from the grass. This is a on going process against Asian nations. Every attempt is be made to isolate China and retard development in nations close to China. It is a full frontal attack against any nation which is not subservient to USA.
Ranjith, we must never forget history. Any attempt to reignite terrorism should be nipped in the bud. We should make acts of separatism and supporting terrorism punishable by automatic death penalty. This is extremely important and this question should be raised in Geneva by Sri lankans. They should also metion that India and Norway trained Tamil terrorists. we must state the truth without fear. Cannot play cat and mouse game with India anymore.
