Writer visited North for the second time since the war ended. After spending the first night at Mankulam Army camp, we proceeded to VellamulliVaikkal, Nandhikadal and Mullativu. The officers at the Army camp treated us warmly and supplied with food and lodging. We are thankful to the Army at Mankulam for their generosity. They were heavily involved with the Sinhalese and Hindu New Year celebration mixing up with the Tamil people in the area. That was the sign of reconciliation process with the Tamil people. It is a very slow process to win the hearts and minds of the Tamil people after a very long years of the conflict. People are moving freely without any fear of any threats from the Army or the Terrorists. There is normalcy prevailing in their day to day living. A very clear example is Killinochchi. The writer felt that Kilinochchi be nominated for the Clean City Kilinochchi award. It is so booming with Banks and new buildings and business is back to normal. AUTHORITIES MUST ENFORCE A LAW TO MAINTAIN CLEAN SANITARY FACILITIES IN ALL

STATIONS ALLOVER THE COUNTRY.

We proceeded to the filthy dungeon of Terrorist leader Prabhakaran some thirty odd feet underground. The fellow is absolutely mad to even spend a night in that dungeon. It is clear how much he loved his life and how much fear he had of getting killed. The man who killed thousands and thousands of innocent people, imagine what a miserable life this mad man had lived. What is the use of wealth and power when the man cannot move freely. This dungeon is a disgusting living accommodation not fit to a pig. Thereafter we proceeded to SoosaiƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s house and the swimming pool. Soosai seems to have lived fairly a luxury life according to the local standards. But to me it is quite fit to an ordinary peasant. The writer wouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t touch it with a barge pole. After we saw the swimming pool and Nandikadal we proceeded to Jaffna.

My second visit to Jaffna after the war ended, I didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t see much progress in Jaffna. We spent the night at a tourist lodge maintained in reasonably well condition with air condition and clean toilet facilities. What is quite obvious is that there is no vermin control or use of pesticide as there were cockroaches and little frogs in the toilet though the walls and the floor are tiled and clean. There was good shower facilities and the management is keen to keep the place clean and tidy. They needs to be educated in vermin control and periodic fumigation. The writer gives 45 out of 100 and if not with presence of little frogs and cockroaches in the toilet the premises will score 70 out of 100.

Jaffna is lack of eating houses to cater the tourists. There is a big demand for proper lodging houses to the growing numbers of the tourists from the South.

SINHALYAS FROM SOUTH

Rich and not so rich COLOMBOS go out of Colombo to Nuwaraeliya and upcountry during the holidays and on the weekends while the poor villages have found a new middleclass tourist resort in Jaffna and Trincomalee after the war. They claim the ownership of the land in North and East with a pride of total integrity of the country. That sense of feeling is spontaneous and they are proud of fighting a war to claim the land in the North and East. THE BIGGEST BLUNDER OF THE GOSL IS ALLOWING AN INDIAN CONSULATE IN JAFFNA IN WHICH TAMIL PEOPLE ARE REFUSING TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE SRI LANKAN. IT STRENGHTHEN THEIR INDIAN OR TAMIL NADOO IDENTITY. THEY FEEL NOW THAT THE NORTH AND EAST IS A PART OF TAMIL NADOO. Generally people are moving freely. Jaffna will one day be joined with Nadoos. Jaffna has not been affected by the war as it was liberated by the forces some time back. THANKS TO THE SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS BY LATE ANURUDDHA RATWATTE.

Southerners visiting North and East are polluting the environment, dropping litter allover, dumping leftover food and the plastic bags and paper with no concern or consideration to otherƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s properties. It is a disgusting situation.

DO ANIMALS URINATE, DEFECATE OR DROP THEIR SECRETION ON DRINKING WATER?

NILAVAREI WELL

One must be so fortunate to see this well in Jaffna. The water in the well is miraculously dark blue in colour. The writer was astonished to see the water in this well. The writer was also sad that he could not pour a bucket of water from that well on his body. It is qite large square in shape well protected by a parapet wall. Even the foreigners have not been able to measure the depth of the well. A part of Jaffna land is being irrigated by this water and a part of Jaffna is supplied with this water for drinking purpose.

THE DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR OF A SINHALAYA.

Jaffna people treat this water as holy water GOD SENT. THEREFORE WE MUST RESPECT THEIR BELIFS AND JAFFNA CULTURE. ONE TOURIST IN HIS MID FIFTIES FROM SOUTH BLEW HIS NOSE AND DROPPED IT ON THE WELL. WHAT IS THE PUNISHMENT AS A READER OF THIS ARTICLE, YOU WILL IMPOSE ON THIS UNCIVILISED SCOUNDREL, EVEN AN ANIMAL DOES NOT DO? TRIP TO KYTS HOSPITAL.

I became about 45 years younger as I visited Kyts hospital. Some 45 years ago I was on a special assignment stationed at Kyts Hospital. My memories went back to my younger age. On our way to Kyts a motorbike stopped our vehicle and was abusive at the driver as he failed to give side to the motorbike with his wife and the baby. The rider went to the police station and brought a constable while I was with the Medical Officer. The constable happens to be a classmate of the Tamil driver and sent away the rider. The rider belongs to Douglas DevanandaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s gang of thugs who running riots in Jaffna. Thereby DD and the GOSL is becoming unpopular in Jaffna.

THE WAY HOW THE THINGS ARE THE WRITER SEES THE DISINTERGRATION OF NORTH FROM SOUTH IN OUR LIFE. PERHAPS NORTH AND EAST BOTH. GOSL IS WARNED OUR POLITICIANS WILL SELL NORTH AND EAST TO INDIA FOR A SUM OF MONEY UNDER THE TABLE. THE WRITER IS POSITIVE THAT THEY WILL BE PAID BY RAW AND HILLARY CLINTON. WE SAW IT IN OUR OWN EYES WHAT HAD HAPPENED IN GENEVA. STUPID IDIOT EDITORS WILL ACT AS THE BROKERS.
