Sri Lankan President Mahinda RajapaksaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s secretary Lalith Weeratunga alleged India had a big hand in the mid-eighties in the planning and executing terrorist strikes in Sri Lanka while India, Britain and France made intense pressure on the President to stop the war when Sri Lanka was on the verge of defeating the Tamil Tigers.
Lalith Weeratunga was reading from the book GotaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s War at its launch, that tells the war experiences of Defense Secretary and the PresidentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s younger brother Gotabhaya Rajapksa .

Reading from a book, Gota’s War, at its launch here, he said the role India played in Sri Lanka needed ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-intensive discussion.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ He described the events described in the book as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-home truths.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was under intense pressure from India, United Kingdom and France to stop the Eelam War IV in April of 2009.
But ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-he did not cave in to external pressure,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Mr. Weeratunga has revealed.
Mr. Weeratunga ( a close cousin of President Rajapaksa) was privy to the meetings. The Indian team, led by its then National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan, had arrived here in April, just as the Lok Sabha elections were on in India, and just before Tamil Nadu went in to vote. For different reasons, Foreign Ministers of England and France were here too, with the same agenda.

The book launch function, meant to celebrate Defence Secretary and President’s brother Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s contribution to the war, turned out to be an India-bashing session: India aided and abetted terrorism, and repeatedly violated Sri Lanka’s sovereignty. Its High Commissioner during the period dictated terms to Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦When the Vadamarachchi operation commenced, the Prime Minister of India at that time, Rajiv Gandhi, issued a strong statement against the operationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦Sri Lanka could have been rid of terrorism [at that time, but for the] high-handed interference of the then Indian envoy, Mr. J.N. Dixit,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ said Mr. Weeratunga, to an audience that comprised all top elected leaders and officials and diplomats in Sri Lanka, including President Rajapaksa and the Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha.
Sri Lanka firmly believed that if this operation had gone on, the country could have been rid of terrorism more than two decades ago. Reading from the book, Mr. Weeratunga said: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-While the Vadamarachchi operation was on, the Indian Envoy Mr. J.N. Dixit had met President Jayawardene and bluntly told him that India will not stand by idly and allow Jaffna to fall into the hands of the Army, and if the military operation continued, there could be unforeseen consequences. Asked to explain what these ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”unforeseen consequences’ could be, Dixit had told Jayawardene that military aid may be given by India to the LTTE leading to the possible dismemberment of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

So in another 10 -20 years time some brave guy will come out with a book divulging how Norway supported LTTE terrorism morally, financially, politically and militarily!

But we all knew this. Nothing new. We need to ACT on this knowledge. Why accept 13 amendment from India knowing very well THAT IS THE BIGGEST WEAPON INDIA GAVE LTTE?

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will never ever give 13 or 13+. He told according to the willingness of people of Sri Lanka votes he will act. President explained once if agreed to 13 he will not able to go beyond “kalu Gaga”. That is a good indication. He is taking time and will take correct cause of action at appropriate time. So that Mahinda Rajapaksa’s secretary Lalith Weeratunga have another comments to make in future.

If JRJ had the foresight, strength of character and self belief like Mahinda, war would have ended 25 years ago. Prabakaran would have ended up as just another small time thug. This little thug went on to be a cult figure in world of terrorism. These are the real “Lessons Learned”. Mahinda is not perfect, but if not for unflinching inner strength, Sri Lanka would be the next East Timor. We are thankful for the sake of dead, living and unborn.
Small part of the community (Tamils in North and East are 6%-7% of population) will not decide on 13th amendment. Will India let final status of Kashmir to be decided by people of Kashmir? I don’t think so.

Still there are those who believe India will not allow the creation of Tamil Elam in Sri Lanka. Everything indicates to the contrary. When the LTTE was around, LTTE controlled areas were known as a different de facto territory – it came closest to Tamil Elam. It was this de facto state India wanted to protect.
This news item has received wide publicity in India. Obviously Lalith knew what he was talking and where this will lead. It is not just reading from a book. And obviously he was playing a part of a game plan. Otherwise it would be far too dangerous and outright stupid.
Dixit’s threat borders absurdity. India may have given LTTE more weapons but the weakest link within the LTTE was not weapons but manpower. Intensity of war from 1983 to 1987 was so high it could have wiped out the LTTE manpower. India was not unaware how Tamils in the north and east were leaving that area and even the country altogether and how that will create a favourable situation for Sri Lanka. If JR was a bit more intelligent, he could have picked holes in Dixit’s threat and pushed on.
India’s intention to dismember Sri Lanka never changed; only the modus operandi changed. Dixit’s threat was to save LTTE and the Tamil population in north east from migrating out while achieving dismemberment of the nation. In this context President Premadasa’s economic embargo and arming Muslims in the east would have hurt India very badly leading to the Indian sponsored assassination of Premadasa. Chinese ties added insults.
We have to look beyond India.

Terrorism Safegurd Castdsicriminations, Blackmoney, Moneylaundering ,capitalism and Western monopoly.
Tamil Terrorism is hands of Western countries. There is nothing about Tamil Language , Tamil community
or Liberation of Tamileelam. Delhi want seperation among Tamil´s Politicians in TN. Tamilnadu politicians
keep Cast monopoly. Tamil politicains of North and east drunk the milk from TN politicians.
The above all reason bring Sri Lanka into the unnecessary problem.

It was/is always Superpower politics (Cold War and aftermath), ex-Colonists’ politics together with the local players that disrupts peace in Lanka. It is up to us all to take the best aspects from all these powers and keep our local values with a sense of balance with respect for all human life.
Keep away from Tamil Nadu Caste problems. Deport all Illegal Migrants from TN and elsewhere and guard the coastlines, always. Get savvy about how the world works and secure the country from within. Please be mindful that China & Russia finish their term at the UNHRC end of 2012.

What Mr Weeratunga says is exactly correct.
Tamil racism is created by Europeans first and then developed by Indians, and tamil terrorism is created by Indians/tamil nadians and developed by westerners. In many scenarios they worked together and the ultimate goal was same. Either hook or crook they want to divide Sri Lanka.
Indira Gandhi and Karunanidhi openly trained tamil terrorists in India and in tamil nadu. Can India deny this? Later Norwegians and other westerners fed tamil terrorist gang with logistics and knowhow.
In 1939 S.Thondaman formed Ceylon Indian Congress for Javaharlal Nehru’s (Indira Gandi’s dad) agenda and Nehru came as a chief guest for the inauguration meeting. Indians interfere to our internal matters since then. Later India pushed forward father of Eelam Malaysia born Velupillai Chelvanayakam to form ITAK (Illankai tamil state Party). Chelvanayakam the god father of Velupillai’s tamil terrorists gang.
In late 1950’s Sri Lanka born tamil nadian M.G.Ramachandran formed the “we tamils ( Nam Tamilar)” movement to take control of Sri Lanka. M.G.R’s son’s mother Jayalalitha and M. Karunanidhi still planning to merge North and East of Sri Lanka to tamil nadu.
Dickshit (Dixit)’s utter failure provincial council idea itself proved how Indian interference to our internal matters. He tried his best to apply the Sikkim scenario to North and East of Sri Lanka. World know how India invaded independent state of Sikkim and merged as a province of India. But C.I.A pawn Velupillai Prabakaran rejected it to satisfy his masters. Later Velupillai killed Rajiv Gandhi to fulfil the C.I.A agenda. After death of Rajiv, Indians gave up “Be Indians buy Indian” policy and changed the tone to “Be Indians buy Americans” policy thanks to Manmohan Singh.
Velupillai, cleared the path to Americans to settle down in South Asia. They were grateful to Velu and this is the reason they sent Milliband and Couchner to save him and tried to send marines from Hawai to air lift the terrorist from Mulative. Now to please tamil refugee diaspora Hillary came to tamil nadu and had a chat with Jayalalitha and passed a resolution at UNHR and many other agendas going on in New Delhi,U.S.A, U.K and Norway against Sri Lanka.
Our President and Gotabaya had to fight two fronts in 2009. Face to face with tamil racist terrorists and New Delhi, Chennai, Washington, London, Paris and Oslo axis.

Let bygones be bygones. Look at the present, Indian infiltration of the economy, Indian hegemony sending the FM/ Parlimentory delegations, TN interference , TNA visiting India for advice, Employment of Indians in Indian enterprise, Land acquisitions etc. Talking about what India did, does not take us anywhere, What are we going to do to the present predicament is the question. All this hype then becomes mere rhetoric.
