Mathew Russel Lee has been very critical of Sri Lanka since the defeat of the LTTE by Sri Lankan government forces. He has been relentlessly picking on the Sri Lankan Diplomatic Corps at the UN.

Many have been the victims of his scathing attacks ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” Bandula Jayasekera, MG Shavendra Silva, Dr. Palitha Kohona, and many more Sri Lankan politicians. To many right thinking journalists, his behaviour has been outright biased and unethical.

Now, the very professional association he belongs to, the UN CorrespondentsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Association, has accused him of unethical behaviour by an overwhelming majority of 13 to 1. Not surprisingly, the sole no vote was his.

Lee, do you need any other evidence to prove your unethical behaviour?

At this juncture, I take my hat off to Sri Lankan Presidential Spokesman, Bandula Jayasekera, who first took him to task for his unethical behaviour, when he was the Sri Lankan Deputy Permanent Representative at the UN.

Its great news to hear that finally justice has prevailed even in the UN environment and this man Lee who displayed so much arrogance and bias with his one track agenda of trying to discredit SriLanka and the SriLankan diplomats, has been found out and knocked out. This should give hope to all those who value justice and wish that others of similar ilk operating within the UN, the International media and influential human rights NGOs may also get exposed and get knocked off their perches, one by one.
These agencies are too important for world peace, to be allowed to be infiltrated and corrupted by lobbyist of any sort.
