Paul Calandra, Conservative MP for Oak Ridges-Markham
Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Heritage Minister
House of Commons, Ottawa
cc. Hon. James Moore, M.P., P.C., Minister of Canadian Heritage

Dear Paul Calandra:

WhatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s this disgusting piece that I read in todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Globe & Mail on POLITICAL FINANCE: Junior MinisterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s fundraising linked to bid for radio licence!

Still linked to the GTA Tamil community, you seem not to have given up being cautious wanting their vote, as they are your bread and butter.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Right, Paul?

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Paul Calandra, the MP for Oak Ridges-Markham, attended and received money at two private fundraising parties that included people connected to two of the bids under consideration by the CRTC, which reports to Canadian HeritageƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, says Bill Curry, who is a smart journalist that I admire and one we all can rely upon.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The host of one fundraiser was the sister of Prabha Selvadurai, the CEO of WorldBand Media Inc., who happens to be an ethnic Tamil.

What is sick about all this Paul, is thatƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  it reminds me of the Liberal Finance Minister Paul Martin and the International Co-operation Minister Maria MinnaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  together with severalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Liberal back benchers attendingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  $60- a plate fund raiserƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  by FACT forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the Tamil Tiger terrorists in Toronto on 6 May, 2000.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  When questioned in parliament Conservative Stockwell Day was accused by the Liberals of being a racist.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But Day knew all along that these Tamil Tigers were serial killers of innocent unarmed Sinhalese and Muslims and it was he who banned them when the Conservatives came into power in 2006.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Remember!

It does seem that you Canadian MPs would do anything to win a Tamil voteƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦I mean any damn thing, just like what the Liberals did.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You are no better.

I know you resented me asking you, as well as your Conservative parliamentary colleague from Barrie, Patrick Brown, in a letterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  on October 17, 2009, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-who the heck do you think you are, and why should the Sri Lankan Government issue a visa anyway?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is when you two made such a fuss and spat dragon breath all over the Sri Lankan Government on TV knocking them for not allowing you two to visit the IDP camps in Sri Lanka when I told you, why the heck should they when the Canadians had denied visas for five Sri Lankan Cabinet Ministers to enter Canada.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I mean five Cabinet Ministers and not ordinary MPs like you two then.

Come on Paul, letƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s get real.

Then on 15 January 2011 you were sucking up to these separatist Tamils again when Andrew Moran bylined a news item in the Examiner the following day, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Public officials help welcome National Council of Canadian Tamils office.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) Chairman, Mohan Ramakrishnan, and member of Parliament, Paul Calandra, took part in the traditional cutting of the ribbon atƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the launch of the official NCCT office in Northern Toronto, at 3510 Finch Avenue East Unit 10, Saturday (15 January 2011).ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

Apparently you were the only federal politician who attended the event.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I am sure that clip of the ribbon with a pair of scissors was worth 1000 Tamil votes in the riding, as you had by thenƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  won the riding from the Liberals by only 545 votes.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  As far as you were concerned it was the case of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”damn the reconciliation process between the Tamils and the Sinhalese in Sri Lanka after such a devastating 27 year long war. It didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t matter two spaghetti meats balls for you,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ was it not Paul, as long as you let these Tamils butter your slice of toast for your morning breakfast, and let you pick up a handsomeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  MPs pay cheque at the end of each month.

So you haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  tried to come clean by saying ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ in fact five people listed with the CRTC as proposed WorldBand investors made donations worth a total of aboutƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  $5,000 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” and that those donations will be returned.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is not good enough for me, as a Conservative.

I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t trust you and I will never trust you.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And if I were in your riding you certainly would not have got my vote for sure.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You havenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t shown me one modicum of honesty as you have learnt well to play Russian Roulette with Sri Lankan politics and with the lives of its unarmed citizens.

Sincerely.

Asoka Weerasinghe

“Campaign money” and the promised ‘votes’ from the terrorists in sheeps’ clothing too big of a temptation for you, Paul??????

  2. M.S.MUDALI Says:

Better tell the Canadians how the Sinhalese have rights to kill Tamils in an communal riots lke 1983. Then the Canadian will understand it. Tell them that the SL government take no action against the killers of the riots too.
