Who is funding Karunanidhi’s Tamil Eelaam “dream
Posted on August 14th, 2012
Shenali Waduge
Tamil Nadu politicians appear to be taking turns to garner public support for something called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-eelaamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and the louder they wail they are assured of remunerations which explain why only politicians are interested in forming an eelaam ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” be it rightfully in Tamil Nadu or its initial launchpad of Sri Lanka. Essentially, Eelaam has nothing to do with Tamils and everything to do with politicians ready to do anything and everything for money.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The elimination of the LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s top tier including its erstwhile leader thus was naturally a blow forcing reinforcements from the LTTE diaspora that has to now shoulder the international campaign to keep the momentum going. Momentums do not come free which brings us to the all important question of how these momentums are being funded? The naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve amongst us is likely to think that the human smuggling, the narcotics trade, the illegal weapons sales that the LTTE foreign network is involved in will suffice to fund or rather ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-buyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ allegiance of foreign and local politicians/decision makers. That is the surface camouflage. The men pulling the strings are not those we make out to be. Who are they becomes the next most important question and from what distance are they remote controlling affairs is no less important but will help us understand why LTTE prevailed for 30 years.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ With the LTTE now no more it is naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve of us to think that our nightmare with LTTE terror is over. In all likelihood IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s crimes against Sri Lanka will catch up on it and the Tamil Eelaam Supporters Organization is just the start.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There are simple logic that is never explained. If Tamils by which implies Tamil people is the concern of Tamil politicians whether they are in Tamil Nadu or Sri Lanka, why would they take LTTEƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s side when LTTE was known to kill all its oppressors. These are statements not without proof ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” there are over 200 Tamil leaders, politicians, public officials, academics etc who have been slain by the LTTE, it killed all the Tamil militant groups and their leaders that India trained. It has killed all respected moderate Tamil politicians leaving only former-LTTErs and a few others who will do anything for money, power and politically dominate their own people. LTTE has kidnapped Tamil children and made them into killers ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the UNICEF/UN has compiled enough of reports. Thus, when Tamil Nadu politicians were screaming over resettlement of Tamils post-LTTE defeat it aroused out curiosity as to what was behind the new calls necessitating our preparedness as a nation. For IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s plans include nothing about the welfare of Sri Lankans and that includes Sri Lankan Tamils – it is something Sri Lankan Tamils may well do to remember.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What no one can deny too is that ALL Tamil Nadu politicians have a knack of supporting ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-eelaamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ only when they are out of power and those like the DMK put a spin to gain leverage over the Central Govt.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The 1st TESO (Tamil Eelaam Solidarity Organization) conference was held in Madurai 1986 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” when Prabakaran killed another militant leader Sabaratnam of TELO.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The 2012 TESO calls falls short of demand for self-determination in its 14 resolutions in view of its implications on Kashmir and likelihood of upsetting its coalition partner the Congress. The only precaution Congress took was to simply demand that there was no reference to Eelaam ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” but buckled to Tamil Nadu pressure by ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-shiftingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ 27 Sri Lankan military personnel undergoing training in an airbase in Chennai to the state of Karnataka. Now if Tamil Nadu can force action of the Indian Defense Ministry ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” we are puzzled as to how powerful IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s central government is! Where are the Hindians or is it Italians running the show!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ DMK head may like to come over to Sri Lanka to see just how well Tamils are living in Sri Lanka. This naturally explains why Dr. Subramaniam SwamyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s version of how Tamils are happy without the LTTE makes far more sense than someone ranting in Tamil Nadu. Simply put we are just not bothered anymore with the empty rhetoric from Tamil Nadu for Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s security forces have real life examples to counter these. Every 89year old must have his day afterall he has been dreaming for a long time and it escapes us to imagine how DMK can achieve what Chelvanayagam nor Prabakaran could achieve! ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What is interesting is that DMK chief refrained from mentioning the Indo-Lanka peace accord in 1987 nor the 13th amendment to devolve powers. Furthermore, with Vaiko and Nedumaran ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” all pro-Eelaam lobbyists missing from the Conference one wonders exactly what type of Eelam these groups are striving for? Then the Naam Tamilar party (We are Tamils) were staging a protest against the TESO Conference ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” which simply shows us that Tamils are more divided and reiterates the need to put their house in order first before claiming aspirations. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s prerogative to maintain the Eelaam ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-aspirationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in the context that it serves IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s purpose of falling short of its realization but vociferous enough to allow India to pressure Sri Lanka using the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-TamilƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ card whereby the need for IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-monitoringƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ will mean nothing but flooding Indian labor and establishing economic stakes which will steadily engulf Sri Lanka without Sri Lankans even being aware of it. This is the grandiose plans which will allow India to keep an eye on any external forces seeking to dislodge India whilst positioned in Sri Lanka and with time purge Sri Lanka altogether ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” it is in envisioning this reality that has little or no care for the wishes of the Sri Lankan citizens that implores Sri Lankan Tamils to finally rethink and disassociate themselves from the Tamil Nadu greater plan. They must finally accept that apart from administrative hiccups that all ethnic groups encounter the minorities are leading far better lives than the majority of the majority Sinhalese and the Tamils that arenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t were never part of the deal and never had it any better even during the hayday of the LTTE and that is a fact that ALL Tamils must accept.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Unless Sri Lanka as a nation is able to come together ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” we cannot fight forces that pretend to be friends because such friends are far more dangerous than the visible enemy.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

It is obvious to to people living in UK that LTTE is still kept alive by Tamil diaspora. My neighbors who came here from Sri lanka twenty years ago and became British still sends 10% of their earnings to LTTE. What they say is they are enjoying good life here because of LTTE .

SHENALI !!! As long as Secretay of Defence Gotabaya is there, no damning TAMIL TIGERS will ever dare raise their heads. The Three Forces and the Swat, and the Police will make them swear ” thy kingdom come”. This time they will be dis-intregated to smithreens. Forces are waiting for them.
So, let that Delhi Fat Baldi whose vital organs are in dysfunction mode, lead his mustard brain followers to NANDIKADAL. Give him enough rope to hang himself, and his retinue of PEE Lamists. Nedumaran, Jaya La Lita, and Vaiko are born to lead Tamils to Slaughter Houses. Their determination is so intense. Also let the Terrorists Tamil Die-as Pariahs spend their money to reduce the violent thinking Tamils to Nandikadal Fame. Let them DREAM, DREAM DREAM, to annhilate their own kind. Sri Lanka would be a much more peaceful Country then.
The Tamil Terrorists Die-as Pariahs, instead of looking after the welfare of their children, throw so much money for an EELAAM that they will never come back to. It is negative thinking. It is true they have so much Financial Resources, that they can BUY any decision making TOP-MOST EXECUTIVE of any Country. In this game the few Beneficiaries are those Leaders misleading the Tamils to part with their monies, and ofcourse the Politicians who even sell their mothers to collect wads of Dollar Notes, to hurt Sri Lanka by saying something ludicrous for monies received.
AS I SEE IT, IT IS ALL WORD PLAY, TO SATISFY THEIR SADISTIC AND PERVERSE INSTINTS.

Muthuvel Dakshinamurthi(aka Karunanidhi) is in morass of corruption. His close ally A.Raja is in jail in case of 2G spectrum scam. Significantly, Jayalalitha is also acquitted of scams like millions of rupees color TV scam, Tansi land scam, and acquiring illicit money. Both DMK and AIADMK are corrupt. Both the parties were misleading voters by promising freebies in their manifestos for the recent State Assembly polls. DMK and AIADMK were not interested in creating jobs for the people of the state but were keen only on luring them with such offers.
People are fed up with both the Dravidian parties as they have been indulging in corruption alternately. Both DMK & AIADMK were hand in glove as no corruption cases were filed by each other relating to their respective regimes from 2001.
Karunanidhi is unnecessarily messing up relations between India and Sri Lanka with his statements.DMK and AIADMK is living out of the misery of Tamils in Sri Lanka… as well as in Tamil Nadu, those corrupt politicians won’t do any good to their people…
Karunanidhi began his wily, scheming, corrupt, lustful, cinematic, persistent, sanguine, never-say-die political career in 1937 at the age of 13. He energetically fought the Congress Party when the rest of the country focused on the little matter of Independence.
The imposition of Hindi in the then Madras Presidency was the first political issue he fought against. Fighting against untouchability and suppression of women in Hindu (but not other) societies were some of the causes he championed. It is another matter that he abandoned those causes once he rose to prominence and focused exclusively on power and currency.
By 1947, Muthuvel Dakshinamurthy and his mentor Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai(CN Annadurai) had developed political ambitions. The Independence that others had fought for and won had opened up new vistas of opportunity that the duo weren’t going to miss. But there was one problem. The leader of their sub-nationalist movement Dravidar Kazhagam, ‘Periyar’ Erode Venkata Ramasami Naicker had called for August 15 to be observed as a Black Day. Ostensibly on a patriotic note, Anna and his thambi Muthuvel Dakshinamurthy disagreed with Periyar and parted ways.
In 1949, they started the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)—at least, the first generation version of the party. It would go on to evolve into its 2G and 3G versions that we all know only too well about.
An early indication of what kind of a politician Muthuvel Dakshinamurthy (Karunanidhi) will develop into came after a by-election that the DMK won against the ruling Congress in the 1950s. Party leaders who had contributed the most to the victory had assembled at the celebrations hoping Anna would praise their hard work.
To their horror, however, Anna presented a gold ring to Karunanidhi, who had played only a peripheral role, and lavishly praised him. Stunned, the leaders asked Anna in private to explain. He told them Karunanidhi had paid for the ring himself and had given it to him the previous night, requesting that the ring be presented to him at the ceremony. “You pay for the jewels and I will present them to you too,” Anna added.
You can read the late poet Kannadasan’s twin-volume autobiography in which Karunanidhi’s younger days are detailed.
Karunanidhi was not DMK’s first choice to be the successor for Anna. There were other illustrious, honest leaders who coveted the opportunity. But when Anna died in 1969, Karunanidhi pleaded with the party’s rising star and a heartthrob of Tamil film fans, Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran (MGR), to support his candidature. Riding on MGR’s backing, Karunanidhi defeated the other contenders and became the chief minister in 1969.
But as soon as he was sworn in, Karunanidhi began sidelining MGR in the party. He was jealous of MGR’s popularity both within the party and across the state. So he denied MGR a Cabinet berth on the grounds that a busy actor would not be able to do justice to his ministerial duties. When MGR became a bitter critic of the chief minister, Karunanidhi suspended him from the party.
It is another matter that MGR formed his own party and grabbed power, never to lose to Karunanidhi till his death in 1987.
In 1976, Indira Gandhi dismissed the DMK government on corruption charges though the real reason might have been her Emergency-era paranoia against non-Congress chief ministers. She set up a panel called Sarkaria Commission to inquire into the charges. The panel defined Karunanidhi and his men as being ‘scientifically corrupt.’ It meant their corruption was systematic and left no trail.

She set up a panel called Sarkaria Commission to inquire into the charges. The panel defined Karunanidhi and his men as being ‘scientifically corrupt.’ It meant their corruption was systematic and left no trail.
During the election campaign, he would tell the voters they are the only ‘Gods’ he worshipped. But once they fix him, he would call them ‘beggars’, ‘numb creatures’ and ‘ingrates’.
In 1984, he was going to lose so desperately in the Assembly elections, that he used an old picture showing him in a happy chat with his (now) archenemy MGR to ask for votes. His argument was that MGR was bedridden in a hospital in the US and could not possibly govern the state. Despite that, the voters gave an overwhelming verdict in favour of the semi-conscious patient and routed Karunanidhi’s ilk.
He became the chief minister only after MGR died and the AIADMK had split. But then, Jayalalithaa was the new rising star and he couldn’t believe his own eyes. For a man who had engaged in political sparring with C Rajagopalachari, K Kamaraj, Bhaktavatsalam and MGR, a former actress 25 years his junior was a climb-down.
Given the feudal background of the DMK, Karunanidhi resorted to the only trick India’s male politicians have in their arsenal against powerful female rivals. He attacked Jayalalithaa personally and oversaw a clutch of sidekicks saying horrendous things. But she couldn’t be scared into submission. Jayalalithaa went on to become Tamil Nadu’s single-largest politician, and more popular than Karunanidhi even when out of power.
The one thing to recommend Karunanidhi for is his tenacity and an attitude that never gives up. Tamil voters have rejected his candidature for chief-ministership six times in the past 35 years. Not once did he lose hope. Never did he contemplate retirement. Swan songs written for Karunanidhi could fill a fat volume but he belied all of them.
Even now, he must already be thinking of the next step in his political journey. His unfinished agenda includes divvying up the wealth among his sons and daughters, firewall the party from a split after his death and make sure the investigation into the 2G scandal fizzles out. A million-war veteran, he is not going to let these minor ripples force him out of the water.
The man is 86-years old and bound to a wheelchair. His son, MK Stalin virtually ran the show in the state. None of the party leaders look up to Karunanidhi anymore, either for ideological leadership or ‘practical’ decisions. They are busy falling into the Stalin camp or the rival MK Azhagiri camp headed by his other son.
Karunanidhi has lost control over his family and party a long ago. Even in 2009, when the DMK was negotiating with the Congress for Cabinet berths in the Centre, he was not informed of the details.
His fighting spirit hasn’t faded a bit, but his illness prevents him from taking action. He also doesn’t seem to understand the modern aspirations of the newest generations. His political plans don’t cater to their needs such as higher education, job creation, infrastructure or economic reforms. His old-style politics—marked by oratorical flourish and an economic policy revolving exclusively around freebies—cannot capture their imagination.
When the next elections are held in Tamil Nadu, he would be 91. The voters need a younger, more progressive, less divisive leader to take them into the new millennium. The 1937 anti-Hindi campaigner doesn’t fit the description.

If sri lanka is to fight this menace we must be united. For unity good governance is essential. See no evil, hear no evil, policy of the present leadership when evil and corruption surrounds you will not achieve unity.

[Quote] It is India’s prerogative to maintain the Eelaam “aspiration” in the context that it serves India’s purpose of falling short of its realization but vociferous enough to allow India to pressure Sri Lanka using the “Tamil” card whereby the need for India’s “monitoring” will mean nothing but flooding Indian labor and establishing economic stakes which will steadily engulf Sri Lanka without Sri Lankans even being aware of it. [Unquote]
Absolutely.
It is not TESO or the old politician coming up with these maniac ideas. India is originating, financing, instigating and promoting these.
This resonates perfectly with what an Anglo Saxon friend of mine experienced in India last month. He and another group of backpackers were travelling on an Indian train. At one point a boy of around 12 years had got in. Few minutes in their carriage, he had defecated right in the middle of the carriage. Having done so, he then begged for money to clean it! Unable to put up with the stench, they were forced to give in to his demand.
India is doing the same with Sri Lanka. They create problems and make demands to fix them.
There are enough political issues in Tamil Nadu that exposes India’s total neglect of its Southern States. By distracting, India avoids facing them.
Previous TN Chief Ministers were the same. They played their role against Sri Lanka in the Indian script.
It is India, not any other entity that is the biggest threat to the island nation. LTTE was an Indian creation. Kachchativu was an Indian creation. Indian illegal immigrants in the island is an Indian creation.
August 14th, 2012 at 8:35 pm
However, even with national unity, Sri Lanka cannot face the Indian threat.
Just imagine all Sri Lankans unite against the Indian threat as in 1990. That still cannot eliminate the Indian threat. India will simply switch tactics. Excuses can be created to interefere. India is the regional bully and there is absolutely nothing Sri Lanka can do on its own to stop it.
Chinese military presence in the island is the only way forward. Direct US military presence is also on the table as per an article recently in Lankaweb.
August 15th, 2012 at 2:29 am
Tamil Problem of Sri Lanka is always endup in India bashing. It never help anyone.
Chinese never involve to save the interest of the Sinhala politics. US will come if India supports its military presence in Sri lanka only.
Karunanithi’s TESO business never takeoff to any height but Sri Lanka must try to “solve” its own problems in an amicable way. More than 150,000 Sri lankan Tamil refugees are still in India. Sofar SL politicians talk nothing about them.
We must remind ourselves how Indian help contributed in the defeat of the LTTE. Bashing DMK or EELAM is OK but bashing India even after it helped to defeat LTTE, is not helpful. Even Karunanithi was silent when LTTE was defeated because of the Indian government.
Dilrook:
We have coconut oil only and not the OIL Americans need!
August 15th, 2012 at 2:38 am
Mu-Dalit,
India never helped us WIPE OUT LTTE.
It was done by SRI LANKANS ONLY with Israeli, Russian, Chinese and Pakistani weapons which we purchased.
India only try to disrupt it.
Did any Indian kill a Tamil Tiger from 2006-2009? NO.
What are the biggest weapons that killed Tamil Tigers?
MiG jets and bombs – Russian and Ukraine
Dvora boats and Kfir jets and bombs – Israeli
MBRLs – Czech
Artillery, mortars, Bhaktar Shikan – Pakistani, Chinese, Slovenia
Guns and ammunition – Russian, Chinese.
No Indian crap.
If India loves Tamils so much why not India take BACK ALL Tamils to India?
August 15th, 2012 at 2:41 am
If we have a problem with you, why should we solve it amicably? What for?
Why not violently?
After all you are our enemies. (We have no other enemies if you are not in the picture.)
If the war was fought better, we could have REDUCED the ethnic problem while solving the terrorist problem.
August 15th, 2012 at 6:16 am
Lorenzo
Why not violently?- Fully agrred ! We will see at Eelam war V !
Unit that shanthy , om shanthy Lorenzo !
Lorenzo if you can translate this Tamil saying for me !

unit in diversity , no short cut !!!
August 15th, 2012 at 6:44 am
One positive step we can take is to stop Indian Labor coming into Lanka or at least make sure they do go back, same as China does with her labor in Lanka. Same rules must apply all foreign labor. Transform in near future into doing all projects in Sri Lanka using Lanka labor only, and if absolutely necessary, foreign expertise (not labor) with strict rules to return to countries of origin on completion of work on project. Labor must be Sri Lankan.
August 15th, 2012 at 11:43 pm
Lorenzo will be on the run if Indian army invades or he will say he he he my ancestors came from Kerala and goa. We are indian brothers. But now he wants to rob Tamils like he did in 1983.
Lorenzo, Gota will bust your ass if you try another 1983!
August 15th, 2012 at 11:48 pm
Donkeys like Lorenzo never know why Sri Lankan army still sends its soldiers to India for training. Foolish Lorenzo thinks fighting is something like the Kotahena- Maradana gang affairs.
August 16th, 2012 at 12:14 am
Bravo .. GOSL!
No mediation by South Africa … or ANY OTHER BUSYBODY … is necessary.
TNA can decide to comply with the laws of a unitary undivided Sri Lanka, or they can choose go to prison for violating those laws.
In fact, what is needed is to hold these serial traitors ACCOUNTABLE for their PAST TREASONOUS ACTIVITIES, and NEW TREASONS they are committing on a daily basis.
For example, PROMOTING Eeelamist activities within Sri Lanka, and plotting with Tamil leaders in Tamil Nadu to create a separatist state of Eelam in Sri Lanka for Tamils-only, is TREASON …. pure and simple.
There is plenty of IRREFUTABLE evidence of these TREASONOUS ACTIVITIES in the historical record.
TNA leaders, as Sri Lankan citizens, should be PROSECUTED, CONVICTED and PUNISHED with DEATH or LIFE IMPRISONMENT for doing that.
That is how the United States protects itself.
Let us also ban, and declare TREASONOUS, all political organizations advocating “Eelam” in their constitutions and having the “Eelam” label in their organization names.
Why is the GOSL still dragging its feet on this issue, allowing these unrepentant racist separatists to flout the law engaging in TREASON unhindered & unfettered?
Why?
……………….
SL won’t accept S. African offer Post-war mediation offer by South Africa
By Shamindra Ferdinando
Island.lk
August 15, 2012
The government will not accept any third party mediation to bring the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) back to the negotiating table, The Island reliably learns.
There is no need for an external role in essentially a domestic political process, External Affairs Ministry sources said, responding to a recent offer made by South Africa to assist Sri Lanka in the post-war reconciliation process.
A senior foreign ministry official said that assistance had been offered by a South African government delegation which met External Affairs Minister G. L. Peiris in Colombo last Friday.
South Africa’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Co-operation Ebrahim Ebrahim and former Minister of Constitutional Affairs Roelf Meyer met Prof. Peiris to discuss ongoing efforts to achieve peace.
The South African offer is believed to have the blessings of the LTTE groups based in Europe and America.
The SLFP and the TNA launched a special negotiating process on Jan 10, 2011 to iron out differences. After several rounds of talks, the TNA quit the negotiating process on Aug 4, 2011.
The foreign ministry official pointed out that South Africa had never accepted foreign mediation or facilitation on the basis that it was the principal political forces, in the country itself, that had the deepest interest in arriving at a durable solution, which had necessarily to be constructed in keeping with local sentiments and aspirations.

Lorenzo said “India never helped us WIPE OUT LTTE.”
Bravo, Lorenzo! I could not agree more!
India never helped … they waited on the sidelines thinking this time too Sri Lanka would foul up, get in a pickle, and give an opening for India to step in again as the “peacemaker” to dictate the “peace”: aka the partitioning of Sri Lanka in two.
India miscalculated badly … partly because their own IPKF had failed badly against the LTTE … and they COULD NOT IMAGINE how little Sri Lanka could succeed where they, the regional superpower, had abjectly failed!
One of the people who helped train, deliver and fund Tamil terrorism in Sri Lanka from the very bbeginning, RAW agent B.Raman, was predicting that Kilinochchi would become the Stalingrad of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces. His series of “military strategy” articles at the South Asia Analysis Group’s website reflected the general expectations of the Indian military establishment … which were never realized!
When Kilinochchi was taken by the Sri Lanka Army with minjimal casualties, not by large scale frontal attacks against strongly manned fortifications, but by coordinated concentrated stealth attacks at weak points in front and rear, the Indian “experts” were dumbfounded.
The pontifical prognosticators of the demise of the Sri Lanka Army at Kilinochchi sneaked away in the dark to try to unravel what happened to their erstwhile stooges, and to figure out how they could explain this calamitous reversal of fortunes to the political bigwigs in Delhi. It was PIE IN THE FACE … pure and simple! They rediscovered the old adage that the best laid plans of mice and men … often go astray!
Yes, Lorenzo is right on target … India never really helped us … when their best laid plans went astray … they decided to make the best of it … and kiss they hand they could not cut off!
There is lesson in all of this: we should do what make sense for us, using all of our native wit to outwit our internal and external enemies, both overt and covert, ignoring the “foreign experts” whose advice is colored by their own agendas and failures.

Lorenzo,
Our king says, ( paying tribute to Dutugemunu)
“He taught the culture of respecting the tomb of the enemy who fought against him. How much the enemy hates us, even if the enemy takes our lives, we adopt a culture of not hating the enemy or his race in the way of the great king.”
We should be pround of our king ( only when he speak like this).
August 16th, 2012 at 5:53 am
Mu-Dalit,
We did it to your a***s in Nanthikadal. :))
Not the first time and will NOT be the last time either.
August 16th, 2012 at 6:01 am
Dham,
I’m not familiar with history because in my time they didn’t teach it and it was Tamilized.
But I know about great king Dutugemunu.
He KILLED the old Tamil invader, killed his army, destroyed his Hindu stuff and put up Buddhist buildings.
When the enemy is dead there is nothing to HATE!! It is dead anyway!!
I like that approach.
Lets kill all our enemies and then pay last respect to their tombs but NEVER pay ANY respect to enemy when it is alive.
Am I wrong? This is what the GREAT king did. Very clever. Killing two crows in one stone!
August 16th, 2012 at 6:09 am
Ananda-USA,
I remember IPKF defence EXPERTS telling SL can NEVER beat LTTE and they merrily lived in their fantasy until we wiped out the Tamil Tigers.
That is the advantage of being the underdog.
GR never named his operations. All was done quietly. No boasting.
India tried to stop the war in May 2009 and GR quickly sent SF to China. Then India chickened out.
Who came to BIA to save Tigers?
Vijay Nambier! A stinky Indian!
Some FOOLS have short memories.

August 16th, 2012 at 2:19 pm
You guys are barking in fantasy. Gota and Mahinda publicly acknowledged the “INDIAN HELP” after the war. Further mahinda said India is our relative and others are friends.
Now you guys try to fool yourselves or others? All of you are now under the catogory of TOURISTS to Sri Lanka and barking like the same Tamil diaspora.
Lorenzo, you are a low class donkey in everyway. You never know the accounts books of India and the debts made by Sri Lanka. Sinhalese cannot expect India to come and kill Tamils right away. When America brought a resolution against Sri Lanka, all the Sinhala soorayas shutup their ass and mouth together and expected India must salvage them. Why? At that point also India came to the aid and diluted the resolution. If the original resolution was passed this time American forces are in the country. GOTA and Mahinda would behind the bars.

Good news from India.
“BANGALORE, India: Thousands of Indians from the country’s northeast fled southern cities on Thursday after rumours they would be attacked by Muslims in reprisal for recent ethnic violence, officials said.
Railway officials said they had put on extra trains from Bangalore to the northeastern state of Assam to accommodate a spike in demand after 6,000 tickets were sold since Wednesday evening.
People arriving in Assam’s main city of Guwahati also told local television they had taken last-minute decisions to flee Hyderabad and the southern state of Kerala.
“We are investigating the source of these rumours and who is behind them,” Bangalore deputy commissioner of police Vincent S. D’Souza told AFP.
“Mischief-mongers and vested interests are misusing social media, mobile and the Internet to spread these rumours and create panic in the people of the northeastern region,” he added.
Three weeks of clashes in Assam between members of the local Bodo tribal community and Muslims have claimed 80 lives and displaced more than 400,000 people.”

The fleeing of North Indians from Bangalore (India’s “Silicon Valley”) in fear of their lives is being engineered by some party wanting to profit from pitting Dravidian South Indians against the non-Dravidian (Aryan) North Indians.
Who would want to profit from such a calamity for India, and as I point out below, for Sri Lanka as well.
India’s international enemies, such as Pakistan and China are obvious suspects, but I doubt they are the culprits.
When the text messages that triggered this exodus are fully investigated, I would be willing to bet that they will find racist Tamil Eelamists at the bottom of it., hoping to trigger a fear of secession of the Dravidian South from the Indian Union, and get the Government of India to lean harder on Sri Lanka.
Alternatively, having failed to get their Eelam in Sri Lanka, are they trying to get it in India? These myopic Tamil Eelamists are racist enough to resort to anything! Their vision of a Greater Dravida-Nadu … led by Tamils of course … can be achieved only if they get out from under the Indian Union.
Either eventuality is BAD NEWS for Sri Lanka.
If India disintegrates, the Balkanization of South Asia will then become a reality. History may repeat, and our problems in containing a Tamil Nadu led Dravida-Nadu will become far worse than now.
We may have to follow the example set by our ancestors in their bid to survive by driving wedges between the constituent Dravidian states of Chola, Pandya and Kerala now restrained and held together only by the Indian Union, and ally ourselves with one or more of them.
All of these are possible scenarios that Sri Lanka will have to PREPARE TO CONFRONT by developing a strong defensive force and a vibrant economy that is not overly dependent on India.

We have to watch Tamil Nadu leaders’ aspirations as they are inimical to both India & Sri Lanka. Tamil Nadu leaders are inconsistent in their loyalties. Generally speaking, they want to somehow keep their leadership role in South India and Vellala rule in Tamil Nadu, as well as keep local dissent re Caste/Poverty matters minimal. Using Sri Lanka as a Distraction (illegal migrants, illegal fishing, K’tivu, refugee camps, etc.), has been their main ploy in the last many decades to keep the Vellala leaders in the frontline both in Tamil Nadu as well as in Sri Lanka.
Eelam should be formed in salubrious Nilgiri Mountains of Tamil Nadu. No need for a separate state there – just make it a CASTE FREE, Tamil Only paradise where all Tamil Aspirations can be easily realised. Make the Nilgiri Eelam a CASTE FREE state within Tamil Nadu. Then there is no need to claw at other peoples’ countries.
At this point in time, we found this bit of news from ColomboPage perturbing :
“TN takes 70% pie in pharma exports to Sri Lanka
By P K Balachandran – COLOMBO17th August 2012 09:45 AM
Tamil Nadu-based companies account for 60-70% of India’s export of pharmaceuticals to Sri Lanka, according to P V Appaji, Director General of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India.
Currently in the island to do the spade-work for setting up an Indo-Lankan export-oriented pharmaceutical manufacturing hub here, Appaji said that four of the 25 companies which were part of the Pharmexcil delegation were based in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to Indian correspondents after talks with Lankan Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa, and Deputy Minister of Commerce Jayarathna Herath, Appaji said that his team had already visited a prospective site for the manufacturing hub near Colombo airport.
India’s pharma exports to Lanka increased by 15.95% in 2011 to touch $ 126.9 million, he said. Of this, 93% were formulations, followed by bulk drugs (7%) and herbal drugs (0.15%). India accounted for 24.8% of the bulk drugs and 58 .3% of the formulations in Sri Lanka.
Noting a ‘huge gap’ between the domestic demand and supply, Secretary to Sri Lankan Ministry of Commerce Anura Siriwardene said that the Lankan pharma market was worth $190 million, with local manufacturers’ contributing $38 million to it.
“The arrival of the Indian team is a big eye opener for us. Nobody here believed that we can produce pharmaceuticals for the massive global market, but now we have realised otherwise,” said Premakumar Weyhenage, Director, Healthcare and Consumer Division of CIC Holdings”.

My Profuse Apologies for shooting from the hip, without verifying the facts first!
The exodus of North Indians from Bangalore and other South Indian cities to save their lives has NOTHING to do with the Eelamists, although what I wrote about Eelamists wanting to undermine the Indian Union is perfectly true. Mea Culpa … my friends … mea culpa!
It turns out that the threats issued against North Eastern Indians, such as the Assamese, now residing in South Indian cities, was in retaliation for the attacks launched by Assamese against Moslem illegal immigrants from Bangladesh who have forcibly entered Assam and are settling there despite the protests of the indigenous people of Assam.
It seems plausible that the threats are made by Moslem Bangladeshis themselves.
The North Easterners, including those from the Bodo tribe, have been waging a long standing struggle to secede from India. The inundation of Assam by economic refugees from Bangladesh (aka Bangladeshi Kallathonis) exacerbates long standing opposition by these people to the settling of even other Indians, their fellow citizens, in the North East, while they themselves ASSERT & ENJOY the right to settle and live anywhere in India. This is a right guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Does this ring a bell regarding the parallel situation in Sri Lanka, where Eelamist Tamil assert an exclusive right to the Northern & Eastern provinces, while the most of Tamils live elsewhere in Sri Lanka among the majority Sinhalese?
While I support the Assamese, and of ALL INDIAN CITIZENS, in their opposition to the entry of foreign Kallathonis, the Assamese should have no opposition to the settling of other Indian citizens in Assam, since they are accorded the SAME RIGHT TO SETTLE anywhere else in India.
They should not be allowed to monopolize their Assamese cake, and the cakes of other Indians too.
However, the Govt of India should prevent ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION into the country by foreigners, just as Sri Lanka should prevent ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION by Indian or other Kallathonis into Sri Lanka, for that constitutes a creeping invasion of the nation.

Stop howling nai.
Your clan’s days are NUMBERED.
Remember Nade-Sung Sene-Sung?
August 18th, 2012 at 1:27 am
Mudali San,
If india disintegrates, there will be a Tamil Nadu ( for you to go from Canada). There will be a seperate Hindustan, which will be the enemy of Tamil Nadu, there will be a bigger Bangladesh, a bigger Nepal, a bigger Bhutan and a bigger Pakistan ( with full kashmir attached).
How do you think Sri Lanka will last only one week ?
Sri Lanka lasted for millions of years, with free trading Arabs, China before the evil white man came.
Inida created your uncle Parayakaran. India did not want him killed.
August 18th, 2012 at 3:51 pm
Dham,
Good point.
Tamil Nadu will also try to be bigger but they can’t because there will be a BIGGER SL when we enslave Tamil Madu!
Look at the armed forces.
SL……………….TAMIL MADU
air force……………only farts
army………………only unarmed jokers
navy……………..only fishing boats!
MBRL…………….only toilet brushes
So we can quickly beat them into submission with the help of Hindustan, Pakistan, China, etc.
But I think China might support it, still we can beat it with Hindustan ANGER and weapons.
August 18th, 2012 at 5:11 pm
But they can do a huge suicide attack ! Blast their nucler power plants and die !
I thnik this is the only think they will do, knowing their limited thinking capacity.
But it can affect us. We must build a radiation barrier. That is all.

India accuses Pakistan of sending the text messages that created an exodus of Assamese from South Indian cities!
……………
Pakistan seeks proof of India exodus messages
BBC.com
August 19, 2012
Pakistan has asked India to provide evidence for its claims that threatening messages sent by mobile phone and over the web to migrant workers mostly came from Pakistan.
Thousands of people fled the cities of Bangalore and Pune in recent days.
Officials have blamed the exodus on “rumour mongering” linked to clashes in the north-eastern Assam state.
More than 300,000 people fled after fighting between indigenous Bodo tribes and Muslim settlers in Assam.
Last week’s exodus of workers from north-eastern region living in Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai was triggered off by messages threatening revenge attacks against them by Muslims.
Over the weekend, India said the bulk of these messages and video clips had their origin in Pakistan.
India’s Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik to crack down on “elements” who were sending the messages.
“We have no information about this. I requested him [Mr Shinde] to provide evidence in this regard to us and we will take care of it,” Mr Rehman told reporters in Islamabad.
On Friday, the Indian government imposed a ban on bulk text messages to try to stop the panic.
At least 78 people have died in clashes between Bodo tribes and Muslims in Assam.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said those who were fanning the rumours should be punished, saying “communal harmony” was at stake.
There are 250,000 people from the north-east living and working in Bangalore, which is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India.
Many of them are students, security guards and workers in the hospitality sector who have migrated to the southern cities in search of better jobs and education.

Ananda-USA,
I don’t think that is what happened in Tamil Madu.
These SMSs were sent by Tamil Madu people to create a TAMIL ONLY Tamil Madu by chasing the few Assamese away.
(It also happened in other states.)
As usual they blame others. Pakistan in this case!!
