I mean a Western nation demanding the arrest of one of their own and then a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”third worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ country stepping in and offering him political asylum? This is topsy -turvy world and the UK, the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”mother of democraciesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ where free speech is sacred ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦or was , willingly becoming the empiresƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ mistress and doing all it can to send Julian Assange packing to the US via Sweden to be executed or, if heƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s lucky, spend the rest of his life in jail ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦maybe at Guantanamo Bay.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The free speech wallahƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s in the empire remain deaf and dumb concentrating instead on easy pickings on China and ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”third worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ countries for their human rights violations. But when it comes to Julian Assange they prefer to go back on their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”embedded journalismƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ nonsense. Or ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”in bed with the empireƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ journalism, if you like.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By all canons of justice, Assange has done no wrong. That is if we believe justice is in integral dynamic of democracy. Without that democracy is an empty shell.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What Julian Assange did was to inform the world of the crimes the U.S. had committed in Iraq and other places. DonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t we have any right to know whatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s been done by the U.S. to spread ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”democracyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in Iraq or anywhere else? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Or should we just fool ourselves to believe everythingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s all right with the world as long as it toes the line defined by the empire so that the plutocrats and the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”bankstersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ can stuff their pockets with the peopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s money as is clearly characterised in the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protests right in the belly of the monster gone mad?

But the lame street media like the CNN, or that rabidly white supremacist network Fox News, will not keep us informed of whatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s really going on in the streets in the U.S. Instead they will stuff our heads with ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”newsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ they want us to know and believe, gullible news consumers that some of us really are.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ LetƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s go back to Julian Assange. Ecuador has granted him asylum. And by all accounts this is indeed a laudable gesture by a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”third worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ country once known as a banana republic. But AssangeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s woes are not over. The U.K. has threatened Julian Assange with arrest and deportation if he steps out of the Ecuadorian embassy. WhatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s more William Hague has threatened to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”stormƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ the Ecuadorian embassy in London where Assange has taken refuge from the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”mother of democraciesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ in gross violation of international law. And all these days we were led to believe, by the lame stream media of course, that banana republics were in South America!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The U.K. is renowned, or should we say notorious, for granting asylum to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”militantsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ from all parts of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”third worldƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ from where they are allowed to incite their followers to violence and bloodshed. Pakistani MQM leader operates freely from London. HeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s allowed to speak to his followers via satellite and itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s no skin off the UKƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s nose if his speech incites violence in which normal human beings, like you and I, are gunned down in cold blood. All in the name of democracy and free speech, of course.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But with Julian Assange itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s something else. He crossed the red lines defined by the empire and he has to pay. If his exposure of the crimes of the empire is the reason why heƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s wanted, then wouldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t it be only appropriate for Barack Obama to charge the New York Times which actually published his leaks as pointed out by an analyst on Russia Today (RT)? Why, come to think of it Barack Obama has still to charge even one of the Wall Street ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”bankstersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ for the biggest fraud in US history. Will he? No, he wonƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t, because thatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s where the millions of dollars come from for his re-election bid. All in the name of democracy, of course. Enlightened democracy, that is.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Actually itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s a terrible shame that the UK should behave like CaesarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mistress, obeying every dictate just for crumbs from the masterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s table. In school we had such high regards for England and even cheered the English cricket team when it clashed with the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”pommiesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ down under.
We were such loyal and obedient Anglophiles. But now we know better thanks to heroes like Julian Assange. And let us all ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”third worldersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ applaud Ecuador for its courage to stand up to Caesar and his mistress.

With rapid declining of the economic power in the west, an early concept of neo- fascism is already breeding in the minds of western politicians. Even though the combined theoretical and physical struggle causes fascism to retreat in ideology and materially during the last world war against Fascism, it can be resurfaced rapidly when western countries let lose their grip on their world dominance. In this context, the Neo-Fascism is the unchecked rule of the privileged, or relatively rich nations in power that can impose a full-scale assault on poor and developing nations.
History has proved that Fascism requires and is built on the support of capitalist elites. Henry Ford, the Dulles family, the Catholic Church, and the German Krupps among many others, were early supporters of fascism in the U.S.
Neo-Fascism is an element of the modern era, which carries forward elements of feudalism. Neo-Fascism has taken the form of state capitalism in UK and USA as it frequently employs as a strategic base for war. Fascist shifts in governments and their official ideology grow with war preparations as in case of continuous threat of war against Iran recently.
Fascism’s goal to promote the rule of people deemed innately superior while seeking to purge society of people deemed innately inferior is identified as a prominent theme Neo- Fascism that promotes political violence and terrorist war as forms of direct action and utilize paramilitary organizations to commit or threaten violence against their opponents. This was very evident in recent uprising not only in Libya and Syria but in Iraq and Afghanistan as well. LTTE terrorism is also creation of this phenomena with early terrorist activities Sri Lanka initiated from LTTE head quarters in London.
The world should be well aware of this dangerous phenomena and only powerful Russia and China can stop this.

The rest of the world – South America, Africa, Asia should begin ignoring US and UK and take measures not to depend on them and ignore them at all world forums. The problems is they have their cronies in every country either through religious or some other affiliation, including in Sri Lanka, like the slimy, sleezy Ranil W – a pathetic situation indeed. Russia and China too play the safe game and since they do not have traditional ‘relationships’ as the British did with other countries through encroachment, and it’s difficult for them to establish a solid base in other countries with a trust which is of paramount importance.

Australia is already finished, eaten by the banks long time ago. Europe is being been eaten too. Middle East is shaping up as one puppet regime, run by Al-Quaida. America will also fall to bankers soon.

The “freedom of speech”, the mostly barked item, by the WEST to threaten the small countries who are not accepting any intimidation by them. The case of Julian Asange proves the duplicity of the Britain which harbours and allows LTTE criminals such Adale Balasingam to do all anti-Sri Lanka propaganda.
But our diplomatic mission never question Britain about harbouring LTTE terrorists. Why?

Dham – I wonder what our position as expats if we didn’t have this forum, inaugrated by a close friend of mine. The three idiots(Observer, Times and Island) have no space for publications for our contributions but enough newsprint is available to publish womens boobs, thighs and legs. Lankaweb is a ‘pressure valve’ release for most of us. However I wonder whether there is an impact of this forum locally or on world stage? Do our comrades in Sri Lanka ever read the valuable ideas we present here, especially the politicians, including the President. The Airports have been abandoned, the Sinharaja road was abondoned thanks to both the external and internal pressures.
I agree with you totally that the Leadership is clueless and go by emotions and not by wisdom. However the road infrastruture and Colombo clean up would have never materialised under the Thambi and Sinhala UNP corrupt regime. CIA, Pentagon and Big banks and the filthy rich (20% controling 80% of world resources) control the world and politicians in most countries have no backbone to fight them, including our man. Australia is a bankrupt country if not for mining.
Obama was a docile man and was awarded the Nobel Peace prize, but Pentagon moulded him in no time (as with all US Presidents) and he became a tyrant, ably backed by Hillary ‘Monica’ Clinton, who should have been given the Portfolio of Health. She didn’t divorce her sex manic husband(who has turned to Buddhism – in fact he need no Buddhism what he needs is good ‘blow jobs’) as she planned a come back to White House, which miserably failed and now she vent her anger on poor countries like Sri Lanka. An absolute clueless woman who should end up in a lunatic asylum. (recently I wrote to her on the Sri Lankan issue) We are at the mercy of stupid fools as we are at the mercy of our Sri lankan politicians.
Do you and I have power to change the world? We just watch the play, enjoy my friend. I suggested sometime ago to establish a mechanism to conduct counting at the poll booths to avoid vote rigging which happens during transport of boxes (started with UNP regime when choppers were used to bring boxes to Colombo, but must be still continuing) Let us see what will happen this time at elections – its not what people expect that happens. As I observed before I still believe this devil is better than the UNP devil, at least for this period in time however you may not agree.
