The three-day international Ahmadiyya Conference concluded on September 9, 2012, at Hadeeqatul Mahdi in Alton, Hampshire, U.K.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This international event attracted great interest with at least 30,000 delegates from dozens of countries.

During the course of the first day, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya community, addressed the delegates twice. Firstly, during his Friday Sermon and then later during the first full session of the Convention (Jalsa Salana). Further, as a means to officially inaugurate the event, he also raised the Flag of the Ahmadiyya Muslim JamaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢at.

During his Friday Sermon, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, spoke of some of the purposes of the Convention. He said the event was a purely spiritual event, aimed at developing compassion and goodness amongst the participants.

His Holiness went on to speak about some of the problems faced by the Muslim world today. He said that the much of the Muslim world had forgotten the true and peaceful teachings of the Holy QurƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢an.

He said that in todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s world tragically certain Muslim leaders were consumed only by a desire to keep their seats of power and were engaged in the mass killings of members of their own public as a means to try and save their power. His Holiness said that such policies were doomed to fail and that such leaders would not only ultimately lose their power but would come to face punishment for their actions.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad continued by saying that even where revolutions had taken place in the name of the people in recent past, the new governments were also following policies that consolidated the cruelties of the past and were a means of weakening their countries.

During the afternoon session Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad spoke about some of the companions of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and the way they were divinely guided towards the truth of Ahmadiyyat.

On the second day of the Convention, Ahmadiyya Supreme Head submitted the Annual Report on the progress achieved by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community world-wide. Accordingly, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is now spread across 202 countries of the world with 2443 formal and permanent missions.

His Holiness, HazratƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mirza Masroor Ahmad, detailed the expansion of the community in just about every facet of progress, including the joining of 512,352 souls to the peaceful Ahmadiyya Islam.

HazratƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Ahmad said that during the last 28 years ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” since 1984 when Ahmadi activities were banned in Pakistan ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has expanded to 111 more countries.

The community added 338 new mosques worldwide during the year which include 119 locations newly added by the community and 219 locations that came to the communityƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ due to the mass conversions in the localities where the mosques were situated.

Over 2 million new books and booklets were published in 45 languages this year, His Holiness stated.

His Holiness announced that with an addition of 117 centers in 108 countries during the preceding twelve months, the communityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s total number of mission houses have now increased to 2,443.

According to the records, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has already completed and published the Holy Quran translations in over 70 major languages of the world and there are currently 15 more translation in various near-completion stages.

Some 900,000 lost converts have been tracedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and contacted, the Ahmadiyya Mulsim leader announced.

Citing testimonials, His Holiness said new people converted to Ahmadiyya Islam in many regions after being disappointed by the attitudes promoted by non-Ahmadi clerics, offering no help in areas where Muslims suffer hardships.

Millions of people worldwide received Ahmadiyya message of Muslims for Peace through knocking on doors and electronic and moving billboards in North America; and millions more in Europe, Australia and Africa received the message that Islam stands for loyalty to oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s homeland.

Just in Germany, 3,000,000 flyers have been distributed.

Further speeches were delivered by the Ahmadi scholars as well as short speeches were made distinguished guests that include Mayors, Member of Parliament and other dignitaries of various countries. Messages for the Convention from the Heads of States that includes British Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister were also read out.

The conference included a world-wide initiation ceremony that is held every year at the time of the Annual Convention in which large numbers of people from different countries gather at some places in their respective countries and then via satellite (MTA-Muslim TV Ahmadiyya) take an oath of allegiance at the hand of the leader of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. His Holiness announced that 512,352 people joined the Community during the past one year.

The proceedings of convention were being broadcast live by MTA (Muslim Television Ahmadiyya), the CommunityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s 24 hour free satellite TV channel which also offers simultaneous translations into several languages. Moreover, the proceedings were made available via 28 different Internet video streams.

His Holiness led the congregation in a silent prayer. Millions of Ahmadi Muslims throughout the world who were watching via MTA International simultaneously joined in with the prayer.
