JVP’s Political bankruptcy and that of the UNP

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP Parliamentarian Anura DissanayakeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  says ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The institutions they themselves wanted us to believe as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”supremeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ are being demolished by Rajapaksa regime. They are being belittled and slandered. The impeachment process is not carried out for truth, justice or fair play. If you can read between the lines you would be able to see what the real intention is. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This is the real nature of Rajapaksa. All institutions they want to be cowed down are being insulted, slandered, threatened and attacked,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The JVP are following the tactics of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Western Governments, UN Officials, Human Rights Activists , the pro-terrorist Tamil Diaspora, and the TNA.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP wants to discredit the Government and see the fall of Rajapaksa Presidency.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  They of the JVP were the very people who helpedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the election ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Mahinda Rajapaksa, but they were not satisfied playing ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the second fiddle to the President Mahinda Rajapakse.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  JVP wants to be the Maestro.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But ever since they left the UPFA their popularity among the masses has fallen to zero.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The people wanted to pardon them for their massacres during the period leading to their uprising in 1971ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and there after.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The JVP wasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  then feared by the people to such an extent they would not even pronounceƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  their name loud .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  JVP spies were every where nobody knew where.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The people were living with fear of deathƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  in the most savage form.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  They were even frightened of the shadows by the road sides.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  JVP ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ insurrection failed it is said ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ because they did not have the backing of the masses, it was a proletarian revolution.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  What ever it ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ had been ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP still hasnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢tƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the support of the masses for even a successful election victory, let alone a revolution.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 1982ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Rohana Wijeweera the leader of the JVP contested the Presidential elections, but got far lees votes than he expected.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  In the meantime they incessantly killed innumerable number of people who were opposed to their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-DoctrineƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Now the vociferous JVP Leadership ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ led by Somawansa Amarasinghe,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Anura Dissanayake,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Tilvin Silva , Lal Kantha and the rest have their annual memorial ralliesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  for their dead leader, but up to now JVP have ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ not demandedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the pardon of the people for their most savage assassinations that will remain the blood mark of JVP.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I myself had a cousinƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  who was taken away from his home, had his head cut off ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ stuck on a pole and displayed in front of his house. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There were stories of how flesh of their killed enemies were sent to their homes ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ telling that it was sent by the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-victimƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ who will come later forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-dinnerƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦!!!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ After the death or assassination (which is still a mystery) ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of their leader the JVP still hopesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  a successful proletarian revolution like the TNAƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and the terrorist rump abroad are ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ hoping to set up a Tamil Eelam. It is that which keeps JVP from joining hands with the President Mahinda RajapakseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  but keeps on discrediting ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ him andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  his government hoping that will pave the way forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  an eventual JVP Government. The JVP is working for itƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  unreservedly criticising every action of the President and his government, increasing trade union activities organised by Lal Kantha with strikes and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ manifestation, roping in the University Students ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”the IUSF and the FUTA.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They still go by Marxist theories propounded by their leader Rohana Wijeweera : ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-We Marxists are proletarian revolutionaries. We do not conceal this fact from anyone. We hope for a complete revolutionary change of the existing social system and act with that goal in view. Ours is not the role of sitting on the fence with folded arms waiting for the day when this capitalist system is taken for burial on the shoulders of others; this capitalist system has bequeathed suffering and oppression to the working class of this country, which is over three million strong. It has made poverty and want the sole inheritance of the middle and lower peasants who comprise more than half the population of this country, it has become the fount and source of each and every contemporary social problem that the bulk of the nation suffers. The socialist revolution in a country can be hastened or delayed depending on the degree to which objective conditions are ripe and subjective conditions, i.e. consciousness, organization and leadership, have developed.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They want poverty to continue to exist for the success of their hopeful revolution , and Anura Dissanayaka perhaps sees end of poverty in the Divineguma Bill and wants to precipitate their ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-revolutionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, as end of poverty will eliminate their Marxist revolutionary hope.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  His critical stance on the Impeachment of the CJ is to bring about JVPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s desired foreign intervention against the Impeachment and thus against the Government of the President Rajapakse.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Otherwise with their own representative Vijitha Herath ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ nominated to the PSC, there is no need forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Anura Dissanayake to make a statement at a Media Meeting held at the JVP Office in Pelwatte on the Impeachment.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The UN human rights expert ( in the UN System every one is an expert) Gabriela Knaul has stated ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- The irremovability of judges is one of theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  main pillars of guaranteeing the independence of the judiciary.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  We do not know where she got it from, but that is apparently what she had said.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Then in UK Commons Foreign Affairs Committee demands David Cameron the Prime MinisterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to boycott the Commonwealth Summit to be held in Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  next year due to continuing evidence of serious human rights abuses in Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And in Australia Gordon Weiss has opened his mouth ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as is his ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ habit to compare which is ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ incomparable saying:ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-There is little doubt that in 2009 the government of Sri Lanka pulled off one of the nastiest episodes of mass killing since the Rwandan genocide – and got away with it. Tens of thousands of civilians were massacred, with barely a trickle of Syria-like imagery emerging from the battle zone.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ (what has Rwanda Genocide and Syria-like imagery emerging from the battle zone, got to do with Sri Lanka).

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ These three news items may have titillated the unpatrioticƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  minds of the politicallyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  bankrupt JVP parliamentarians to renew their attack on the President Rajapaksa and his government.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ JVP is not alone in the idea of binding hands and legs of Sri Lanka and sell it off toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the foreign champions of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-regime changeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to do what they like with it and when finished withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  hand it back to them. Ranil Wickramasinghe and the UNP are also participating in the deal.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ UNPƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  also has still not asked the pardon of the people of Sri Lanka for the killing spree with torture chambers where thousands of Sinhala Buddhist youth were killed and tortured by the UNP under PresidentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Premadasa ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ attempt toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  put an end to the savagery of the JVP.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  SajithƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Premadasa-the Vice President of UNP has a duty by the people to say sorry forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  his fatherƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”s part in those killings, for arming the terrorists, and for what ever hand he had in the assassination of the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ But they JVP and the UNP are ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ today the champions of democracy , human rights andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  good governance.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is reported that the leader ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of the UNP Ranil Wickremesinghe hasƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  asked the government to clearly state its stance on the 13th AmendmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦..and whether the Government was rejecting the May 26, 2009 joint statement with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the May 17, 2011 joint statement with the Indian Government where the Sri Lankan Government underlines its commitment to the implementation of the 13th Amendment. Mr. Wickremesinghe ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has added that a different tone was being heard today despite the assurances given to the United Nations and to India that power devolution under the 13th Amendment would be systematized and strengthened.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What is Ranil Wickramasinghe fishing for in the troubled waters of Sri Lanka when it ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ needs the unity of every one toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  face the attacksƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  coming from the West to subjugate and bar the development and progress of our country afterƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the elimination of the terrorists, for which none of these Western Countries came forwardƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  to help.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Democratic process has been set up for the impeachment of the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka. It is purely an internal problem which the country has to proceed with according to its Constitution.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is neither the business of the UN norƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  of any other foreign country.

  1. Leela Says:

Going by what UNP and JVP MPs say now, CJ will be innocent even if proven guilty. But that wasn’t the case when NSB bought shares of ‘The Finance Co’ for twice the market rate. Dayasiri Jaysekara UNP, MP and Anura Kumara Dissanayake JVP,MP said in parliament that NSB, chairman and his wife CJ should resign and a full inquiry must be held in to the crooked share deal that used public money. We the members of the general public too followed them.

But today the UNP and JVP have changed their tune. In an article to Colombo Telegraph, UNP heavy weight, Chritha Ratwatte wrote; CJ’s husband was a non-executive chairman of NSB, hence it would be directors who are responsible for the crocked share deal. Clearly JPV heavy weights have disseminated. Both UNP and JVP leaders think as if we have forgotten what they said earlier.

Both UNP and the JVP are so desperate to change the ‘regime’, they would allay with anyone to do it. And sympathizers of separatist, NGO sharks and their pay masters are all in the same boat. There is only one way for the President to remain in power: he must maintain his patriotic seal at all cost.

Charles absolutely correct. “Sajith Premadasa-the Vice President of UNP has a duty by the people to say sorry for his father‘s part in those killings, for arming the terrorists, and for what ever hand he had in the assassination of the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa”.
If Premadasa allowed free hand to Late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa and given the support what President Mahinda Rajapaksa gave during 2008 & 2009 LTTE would have been eliminated long ago. Hence no traitor like Sarath Fonseka. Also Premasada also would have lived without getting blasted. History of Sri Lanka would have been much different. However the question is LTTE would have finished but Premadasa period “Beesanaya” would have continued much longer time. Sri Lanka destiny was protected by the Gods!
It is no doubt that JVP & UNP are straggle too keep alive without falling same as LSSP, CP and Bala Thampo’s Mercantial Trade Union.

  3. Fran Diaz Says:

Which “-ism” or combination is the JVP wanting ?
Their message is not clear at all.

Sri Lanka has the best combination i.e. Socialism/Capitalism. That is the combination the best Democracies have.

Question: Can someone tell us why it was that Mrs Sirimavo Banadranaike did not speak with the then JVP leader at that time
(Rohana Wijeweera), to come to some sort of settlement ?

  4. crobe Says:

Regardless of party affiliation, all politicians grow a conscious when in the opposition.

Before Sajith, Somawansa Amarasinghe and the rest of the JVP thugs should apologize to the people of Sri Lanka for the crimes they committed. Also, where is all the money and jewellery they stole when they robbed all those banks?

Less said about that hack, Gordon Weiss, the better. He should take a look at what his ancestors are doing in Israel before he opens his big mouth. According to the UN and the foreign Tamil funded INGO’s, ONLY Tamil civilians died in this war. They want every one to believe that the LTTE terrorist fighters magically swam away to safety. Looks like this douche bag is getting ready to write another book and pumping in more fake stories.

How about charging the TNA politicians and the foreign LTTE’ers for crimes against humanity? After all, it was the TNA politicians that appointed the LTTE as the sole representatives of the Tamil people and it was the foreign LTTE’ers that funded the death and destruction of Sri Lanka and its people. They are co conspirators to all the crimes the LTTE committed.

  5. Lorenzo Says:

    Run-NIL is Batalanda mass murderer.
    Somawansa is Kalutara mass murderer.

    At the same time.

Like Anton Balla Singham, he got UK citizenship.

  6. Dham Says:

How is the 5 year old Lorenzion kid knows all these ?
People should be really stupid to belive this person.
This bugger should be a 60 years old Lansi uncle.

  7. Charles Says:

    Dham

Please. We all make our comments here. There should be a feeling of oneness, cordiality and if possible a fraternal affection towards each other inn the forum. Name calling takes us no where. We may accept or reject comments and observations.

  8. Lorenzo Says:

JVP and UNP have NO MORAL standing whatsoever.

They DEMANDED CJ is removed. Now when the govt. does JUST THAT, these jokers are against it!!

They don’t know what they want. BUT PEOPLE DO KNOW WHAT THEY WANT!
