VajiragnanaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Warnakulasuriya
Hon.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Don Randall (MP),
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Dear Mr.Randall,
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I have responded to you on several occasions having read your candid observations on Sri Lanka after your several visits. In your recent Adaderana TV interview you once again confirmed these along with the present progress. It is indeed gratifying to hear a positive report on Sri Lanka from an Australian representative from the Federal Parliament. Please accept my sincere appreciation.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I get the feeling these are unsolicited observations that you made in your unaided travel with your wife. I believe you were in Sri Lanka as another tourist who enjoyed the freedom to visit where you wanted. Your first hand experience to visit the Naval Base in Trincomalee and talking with the Naval Officers and interviewing the unsuccessful boatpeople to Australia should become a unique revelation to the listeners how the desperate economic manipulators construe to kill two birds with one stone. Due to the efficiency and commitment of the Naval force in this instance they managed to deprive the fraudsters to denigrate Sri Lanka and be successful to gain refugee status!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ You had the opportunity to hear the deported bogus refugeeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s confession to the authorities in Sri Lanka, that he was never subjected to torture nor has he got a bad back as a result of torture, they were just plausible reasons for Australian Immigration department to become a successful migrant as coached by the experienced Tamil Diaspora in Australia. These and many more, such as rape, incarcerations make excellent reasons that cannot be ignored by the Immigration department! Your confirmation of what the deportee Anthony said justifies the famous saying by Abraham Lincoln
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ but you cannot fool all of the people all of the timeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Unfortunately this type of information do not appear in main stream news papers in Australia however much we advice the media regarding the ground realities with regards to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Boat people & Asylum SeekersƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ from Sri Lanka, we only present the truth, which is of no value in comparison to the Green Notes that oils their palm!
I am sure the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime takes on board your advice as to how the progress in the North & East should be administered for everybodyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s satisfaction.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As for the presence of the Military in these areas, in defence I must say, though there are no serious threats by the defunct LTTE just now, but the LTTE rump residing off shore have not stopped their elusive Elaam DreamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, now they have regrouped under several virtual Parliamentary names, having appointed, Prime Ministers, Deputy Pri-ministers, in fact a whole cabinet, at a time Sri Lankan Army is still discovering huge caches of hidden artillery & ammunition in the conflict zones, one would tend to be vigilant rather than sorry later. Although the advanced Western regimes may not have a visible army amongst the civilians, they have the luxury of observing any such suspicious activity monitored 24hr/365days with the most modern electronic surveillance gadgets locally and globally using the Satellites. As you know Sri Lanka is a developing country which has monetary constraints which makes it extremely difficult to imitate the Western method of surveillance, hence the occasional presence of military movement has become necessary. Besides, just like the Australian forces in Afghanistan who make a huge contribution by constructing the infrastructure, Sri Lanka too is now utilizing the Army personnel to expedite the reconstruction of the infrastructure destroyed.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Importantly, would you believe that thereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s a strong request by the Lower Cast of the Tamils that their life is safe by the presence of the Army.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So, though it appears life is not normal to the Western eye majority of the Tamils love to see their freedom is secured by the presence of the military, one need not take my word, but I would request any tourist to question Tamils for their feelings on this point or make a survey in those areas as to the presence of the Military. Having made this in defence, I must also say, since of late the regiments have been drastically reduced, very soon there will be a day where the Army will be confined to the Barracks!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Last but not least, I believe Rear Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe continues the good work late Mag.Gen.Janaka Perera & Mrs.Vajira Perera started to educate the members of the Parliament and the Public on Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s true identity and her rich culture influenced by The pragmatic faith Buddhism!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In conclusion let me extend my sincere gratitude for your kind words on Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Yours Sincerely,
Vajeera Warnakulasuriya

(a) The majority, if not all, of the politicians from the USA, EU, UK, India etc who visited SriLanka as tourists or on fact finding missions, have also made statements similar to Hon Don Randall of Australia. Whilst we applaude them all, we must applaud Mr Randall more as he is from a nation that is still afraid the categorise the LTTE and its front organisations as terrorists.
(b) Mr Warnakulasuiya correctly highlights that “………….however much we advice the media regarding the ground realities with regards to “Boat people & Asylum Seekers” from Sri Lanka, we only present the truth, which is of no value in comparison to the Green Notes that oils their palm!”
Yes in hard economic times, especialliy for the media, Green Notes are of better value than the truth. It is common knowledge, that in the West, it is not only the armed forces, but also the media is used as a powerful tool of disinformation, before attcking a nation.
Tiger terrorists have identified this weakness and is using much of their illgotten funds to control the media, politicians, NGOs etc. One of their favourite allegations is the Gordon Weiss created imaginary figure of 40,000 deaths in the last few weeks of the conflict. GW was only an employee in the Colombo UN office and his original unsubstantiated figure of 7000 deaths was also rejected by the UN office and even his employment not extended. This fabricated 40000 has also been rejected by the Doctors at the scene during the conflict and Gordon Weiss himself reduced it to around 10,000 in response to a question, during his book launch. Therefore, when journalists repeat GW-40k figure as the correct figure, ignoring all other evidence, then we know how corrupt or ignorant the Western media could be.
(c) Why did Navi Pillai vist refugee camps run by Australia to condemn living conditions etc? Is it becaus there are Tamil boat people in these camps who want to get admitted to Australia as refugees? If not, why did not she visit Tamil Nadu camps in India, where Tamil refugees have been living in appaling conditions for decades? Shouldn’t NaviPillai condemn TamilNadu of India, more than Australia for the way refugees are treated?

The author of this article Vajiragnana Warnakulasuriya wrote
“Besides, just like the Australian forces in Afghanistan who make a huge contribution by constructing the infrastructure”
Hahaha LOL!
Really?!!
Afghanistan is a disaster due to western intervention! Just like Iraq,Libya and Syria.
Thank you Australia indeed.
Mr Warnakulasuriya you are allowed to be critical of Australia you know. Everytime I read a article of yours its always praising Australia like its govt is the best in the world or something which is rediculous. I can assure you they won’t revoke your visa status for Australia or tell you to leave if you are more critically minded. You can still enjoy living in Australia.
I find normal Australian people more honest, they are far more critical of their country and govt policies than Sri Lankans living in Australia and comment on lankaweb.com. There is a lot wrong with Australian govt, they always support the policies of the criminal west. Because Australia is the west along with New Zealand.
Having said that I would say Australia is the best western country to live in. That said you are allowed to be critical of its govt which is like every other western govt extremely criminal.
I say this because I thought lankaweb.com is a website committed to exposing western criminal govts.
