Bankrupt politicians, CJ Shiranie B and a Sarath Fonseka !

After the war on the instigation of ‘bankrupt politicians’ former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka dropped the uniform,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ donned the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ national dress and took to politics. Not unusual for someone ambitious. But it was a disaster for him. When he was in prison the same group lined up to visit him. As soon as he was out of prison, theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ group which was, the UNP, JVP, and TNAƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ dropped him like a hot brick. Even his 2 Lieutenants ran away from him. Rallying round bankrupt politicians was his downfall. Now he is deserted.
Today, the same bankrupt politicians and anti-govt forces have rallied round CJ Shiranie B, an academic, elevated to the bench and appointed CJ over others. It is alleged that some of her actions are unbecoming of a Chief Justice, pushing her into the upper bracket of the wealthy. When she attended the PSC on the first day she declared that she has no faith in this meeting and she had to be persuaded to take oaths. She walked away beforeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the impeachment probe ended. Obviously she had premeditated this. She could be impeached again for violation of the Constitution.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As usual, she has the support of the Opposition and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka as its Chairman is aƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ UNP, MP.
In May 2012, when her husband was charged for misappropriation of funds from the National Savings Bank, it was the UNP which demandedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ an impeachment of the CJ. But now they are in the fore-front of the anti-impeachment move. The UNP, JVP, TNA and the anti govt forcesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ joined together when Sarath Fonseka took to ‘active’ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ politics and supported him.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Today, the same groupƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is with CJ Shiranie B, singing hosannas. They made Sarath FonsekaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a cat’s paw against the govt and they are doing the same with CJ Shiranie B. It is unethical for a Chief Justice to be mingling with politicians.
As things are, the sword of Damocles is hanging over CJ Shiranie B and time will tell the decision of the Parliament on the impeachment probe. If the decision goes against her, which is obvious, then all these bankrupt politicians andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ anti-govt forces rallying roundƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will desert herƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in the same way asƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ they did to Sarath Fonseka.The Opposition is making hay while the sun shines. So, whether it is Shiranie B or anyone else what the anti-govt forces want is to create a rift in the country and tarnish the image of the govt.

What parallels I see are SF & SB:
1. Both have close relatives living in Western countries. SF’s daughter in the US and SB’s sister in Australia.
2. Both (or their close relatives) have wealth, that cannot be explained by their earning activities.
Tamils and India have plenty of money to spend and ofcourse few millions of dollars on few key individuals is money well spent.
we saw a tiny bit of this money with SF’s duaghter’s mother in law and now we see a tiny bit of this money with SB herself.
So it is the same story,

There is one more thing in common,
Sarath Fonseka had a hard fall from the very top of the political Murunga tree.
Shirani B. is the next in line!!!

Thw problem with these two individuals is THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE TOO BIG FOR THEIR SHOES!!!SF was elevated overlooking the then Army Comander who was a THROUGH GENTLEMAN WITH VERY SOBER QUALITIES.But SF was and still is trying to elevate to the top by hook or crook.Had SF been greatful to the Master who elevated him for the AC post and continued to support MR,by nowhe could have been the PM of Sri Lanka.Hewas so ungreatful that having gone to US after the war ended as a repof Sri Lankan Govt,he tried to give evidence against MR and GR on white flag bullshit story.When he was recalled back by SL Govt., he consulted JVP Leader Somawansa, WHAT A TRTAITOR HE WAS???
SB is a REAL CHEAP JUSTICE to have committed low class irregulaties and pretend to be a highly respected person,thanks to the President BASL another who triesto practice JRJ’s tactics BUT A REAL FAILURE!!!

When will some of you people realize the fight is not to save the CJ but to save the judiciary of the country. CJ may be guilty of all 14 charges. But she should be given a chance to defend herself. When the CJ of the country cannot defend herself, what justice can you expect for the poor citizens?
