Dear Sir:

Reference the front page article that Canada summoned the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Ottawa, it should be obvious to the officials in Sri Lanka that this is all a build up towards Canada’s intended actions at the UN sessions to be held in March in Geneva and the constant threats to boycott the Commonwealth Summit to be held later this year. What should also be obvious to Sri Lankan officials is that all this bluster is at the behest of the Tamil separatist diaspora and is done by the Canadian Government merely to get votes in Canada.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Unlike officials in many other missions overseas who are indifferent,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ incompetent and areƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ given appointments overseas as personal favours merelyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to further their own goals without any education, knowledge or concern for the country,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the HC in Canada is a hardworking professional and it is unfortunate that she is not heard merely because the Canadian Government is only interested in harassing Sri Lanka and expressing views fed to them by the supporters of the Tamil separatists just to get their votes in Canada.

For the benefit of your readers it is necessary to point out that theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ separatist war on the Sri Lankan people by the Tamil terrorists was fully supported by Tamil Canadians with the covertƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ support of consecutive Canadian governments whose elected members actively aided and abetted funding the warƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ from Canada, some politiciansƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ even participated in the fund raising.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Canadian politicians provided political support to TamilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ terrorist supporters against the Sri Lankan people, not to the elected government of Sri Lanka, although Canada was very loudly proclaiming to the world that it was against terrorism and even signed a convention against terrorism.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The current Canadian Government is no different. It was a former Canadian ambassador to Sri Lanka, Martin Collacott who stated that it was Canada’s interference in Sri Lanka and support to the Tamil Tiger terrorists that was a factor in prolonging the separatist war which killed thousands in Sri Lanka.

During the war Canadian politicians supported Tamil terroristsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to terrorise Sri Lanka for votes in Canada. After the war, Canadian politicians are continuing this policy with their anti Sri Lanka bias and propaganda in the hope of getting the so-called ethnic Tamil vote particularly in the Greater Toronto Area by being the spokespersons for the continued push by the Tamil diaspora to divide Sri Lanka.

It is hoped that the Sri Lankan authorities will pay attention to these “signals” from Canada and be prepared for the UN sessions. As forƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Commonwealth Conference, if Canada does not want to attend it has the right to do so. What it does not have the right to do is threaten Sri Lanka and attempt to force Sri Lanka to accept conditions dictated by the Tamil diaspora as a requirement to attend.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Regarding human rights, Canada has been faulted regarding it’s own failures on human rights and is hardly in any position to point fingers at other countriesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ based on ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ it’s own dismal record. Further, it has not acknowledged and shown accountability for the thousands killed by terrorism in Sri Lanka because of funding by Canadian citizens and interference by Canadian politicians.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Members of all the political parties in Canada are playing the same game. None of the Canadian political parties have any interest in helping the people of Sri Lanka – they never have, they areƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ justƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ trying to getƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ themselves elected.

ProofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that Mr. Kenney’s and the Canadian Government’s intentions and attitude to Sri Lanka is based on pandering to the Tamil diaspora is evident by the fact that on January 26th,2013 he attended a meeting in TorontoƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ONLY for Tamils to brief them on his visit to Sri Lanka.
