Karunanidhi’s tirade against Sri Lanka President: the man is living in his make believe world of Tamil film script writing

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Karunanidhi, the DMK leader, who is long past his sell-by-date as far as having Tamil Nadu under his rule, shows no signs that his Tamil movie scriptwriting skills are on the wane. Or else, how can anyone expect a man living in the real world to make statements of the type that the poor soul is reported to have made in Chennai, as reported in the media on 08 February, in his verbal protests against the proposed visit by the President of Sri Lanka to Bodh Gaya and Tirupati in India? The fantasy world of Tamil movies, which had previously propelled Karunanidhi, Jayalalitha, MGR and a host of others to the pinnacle of the political power, thanks to the gullibility of the millions of illiterate voters, stood in good stead all these past decades for these individuals, and it is hard to believe that they would ever consider living in the real world as an option worth its salt.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Karunanidhi has the temerity to come out with pronouncements that will make the intelligent reader, who knows the real Sri Lanka, laugh:

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The discerning reader can only feel sorry for the old man Karunanidhi.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ President Rajapakse is the very Sri Lankan leader who was responsible for the rescue of nearly 300,000 Tamil civilians who had been kept corralled by the LTTE leader Pirabhaharan for use as a human shield. The entire world saw, through the live telecasts that were beamed from the Mullaitivu and Nandikadal areas, how the Tamils ran to the Sri Lankans armed forces after the barricades were broken by the forces. Karunanidhi obviously would have been in deep slumber or may have purposely decided not to watch the telecast as his hero pursuing Eelam in Sri Lanka was certain to face annihilation shortly.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Two key figures who were at the forefront of the propaganda machinery of LTTE spokesman Velayudam Thayanidhi, also knows an Daya Master, and interpreter known as George Master, after they surrendered alleged that rebel fighters had shot dead more than 200 Tamil civilians trying to escape the so-called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-no-fire zoneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in the north of the island, as reported byƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ REUTERS from Colombo on 30 April 2009.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Karunanidhi sheds crocodile tears on behalf of the Tamils ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-forced to lead a life of refugees and orphans in various countriesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. As far as everyone else is concerned, and even countries such as Australia have now admitted that, the large majority who ran away from Sri Lanka were economic migrants. The ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”refugeesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ had a convenient excuse ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” discrimination of Tamils – to force themselves on the most affluent countries in the world, covering themselves under the refugee garb. The existence of 300,000 Tamils in the Greater Toronto and the neighbouring regions in Canada alone is sufficient proof to negate the spurious statements that Karunanidhi has made.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ No factories of Tamils in the North and the East have been taken over by President Rajapakse or his government. On the contrary, many factories such as those in Paranthan, Valachchenai and Kankasanthurai, which provided livelihood to Tamils living ƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¬n the area before Pirabhaharan and his gang destroyed them, have been brought back to life following the defeat of the Tigers. In addition, roads and other infrastructure facilities of a calibre that many of the inhabitants had never seen before are being constructed in the North and the East, the obvious immediate beneficiary of which being the Tamil civilians living in the same regions.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In rescuing the Tamil civilians, the President of Sri Lanka secured the right to life of not only the Tamils but that of the members of all other ethnic groups. The Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, addressing a gathering in London 04 February, has pointed out that the economy of the North had grown by 22% during the past two years, which would naturally benefit the people living in the region.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The poor man (Karunanidhi) says that the entire world considers President Rajapakse as a war criminal. The entire world is not just five or six affluent countries in the West or the southern tip of India. The politicians in the former have a ready vote bank in the Tamils who live in their constituencies and would be foolish not to peddle the perceived plight of the Sri Lankan Tamils at every world forum. Furthermore, Tamil Nadu is not India: the 70 million in Tamil Nadu is a small proportion of the over 1.2 billion total of the Indian population. More significantly, the have-been-politicians in Tamil Nadu will fade into oblivion if the fires of the allegations of persecution of the Tamils in Sri Lanka are allowed to die down. Tirades against the President of Sri Lanka are a sure fire way for Karunanidhi and his ilk to steal the limelight.

– This will never happen. TN want to SWALLOW up Sri Lanka first before seeking independence from India. And we are the fools playing into their hands with all this single national language and anthem rubbish, which they will then use as amunition against us. Unlike the Muslim world, the West, the Spanish speaking world, the Chinese speaking world, etc, we have NO natural allies. No country is going to stick their neck out for us when we are attacked, unless we become their colony or embrace their religion. Our best hope is a plural Sri Lanka with all languages and cultures considered equal at the highest symbolic level. Unfortunately we are led by short sighted uneducated fools.

India will never allow ealam to create in Sri Lanka but help Tamils to keep on agitating for ealam. India knows it very well afterwards it will expand to TN and then seek independence from India. Therefore Indian will try to keep ealam concept [wound] as long as possible out of India or TN. After Independence India lost its territories twice and fighting ever for Kashmir.
If created Tamil Nadu – the country of Tamils then India will have two frontiers to keep on fighting for ever. One in North Kashmir and second in down south Tamil Nadu. If any country have such situation it’s economy will go down. US, EU will like if Indian get into this mess so India will be out of the competition in trade.

As Vice 123 has noted, the ‘other alternative’ suggested by the writer of this article – Karunanidhi seeking an independent Tamil state in Tamil Nadu – will not happen. In the 1960s at the first sign of serious secessionist tendencies, then Prime Minister Nehru was quick to enact legislation to outlaw the states from seeking to secede from the Union, and any such moves by Karunanidhi will land him in jail.
Having said that, we ought not to underestimate the ‘threat’ from Tamil Nadu. Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha, the main political players in that state are equally discredited and bankrupt of policies. But, given the cruel reality of political arithmetic, whoever is in power in TN is able to wield great influence with the Congress Party. The Congress Party needs the support of the party in power in TN, to stay in office. Sadly, it is a case of the Chennai tail wagging the New Delhi dog.
But what has to be realized by SL is that, regardless of how silly or insane the leaders in TN may be, TN has REAL clout with the Centre. If you have any doubts on this score, you have only to note how the sentences against those convicted in relation to the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, have still not been carried out – because of pressure from Chennai.
We need to ensure we do not play into the hands of the TN politicians. We should guard against falling prey to provocations and illogical outbursts coming out of Chennai, and see that our policies are sane and prudent.

Karuna is in the opposition after losing the election. I will not worry too much about him.
India’s plan is to divide Srilanka and hand over the Tamil part to Karuna and Jeya. Karuna and Jeya want to turn Srilanka into a Tamil language, cultural, national anthem country first before that. Then it is easy to amalgamate with India.
Which fool thinks India sacrificed 3,000 soldiers in Srilanka for nothing? India wants a part of Srilanka. I forgot Australia. Australia was not a white English country. Don’t believe that. Australia was a black aboriginal country. UK first spread English and then made it part of the British empire. Aboriginal people were not wise enough to reject English.

We come from Saudi and we can talk Sinhala very well. All Muslim MPs speak very good Sinhala. Tamils come from close by India but they say they can’t speak Sinhala and they want Tamil. Some people believe that. What modaya thinking? Some cunning people attack Islam and support Tamil anthem. Sinhalese should be very careful from these snakes.

We think Tamil “film script writing in politics” started with M.G. Ramachandran. MGR was a Ceylon Tamil, born Upcountry Sri Lanka, and turned actor in Tamil Nadu, then politician and became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. His film roles playing various god figures in Tamil films made him popular among the Tamil voters. He would roll along the heavy Vel cart dressed as one of the Hindu god figures and poor uneducated Tamils used to thrown themselves under the cart, hoping for heaven after death. Since MGR, there was serious eyeing of Lanka as a spot to take over for TN leaders expansionist ambitions.
Sri Lanka has yet to properly protect the Nation through properly formulated Laws such as enacting laws similar to the anti-Secessionist Law of India, have an Oath of Allegiance to Sri Lanka, deport Illegal Migrants, remove the 13-A, etc.

These greedy Tamilnadu politicians, whilst shedding crocodile tears for non-existent discrimination against SriLankan Tamils, are more interested in enriching themselves, like many of the Indian politicians, who are said to be having currency note counting machines installed at their homes, offices and even their private cars to count the bags full of cash they receive.
