Bharatha Lakshman case:Thirteen charged, six discharged

The Attorney General yesterday charged 13 suspects, including Colombo district MP Duminda Silva, in connection with the assassination of former Colombo district MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and three others.
When the case was called before Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna de Alwis yesterday, the Attorney General assisted by the CID filed charges against the 13 suspects. Six other suspects remanded in connection with the murder of Premachandra were discharged from the proceedings.
PresidentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya yesterday submitted to court that his client MP Duminda Silva will be produced on the next court date.
Attorney Upul Kumarapperuma who watch the interest of the deceasedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s party, commended the Attorney General and the CID for their performance during the investigation period.
The case will be called again on March 14 before Colombo Additional Magistrate Sandun Vithana.

May be duminda is very useful to the Govt. Sameway Bharatha too was useful. Govt should not allowRANIL TO USE HIRUNIKA AGAInST THE GOVT. THERE ARE SO MANY THUGS IN POLITICS THIS IS TOOMUCH.

Problem with thugs is drugs go with them, and with drugs murders go with it. And then it starts to revolve in a vicious cycle. So, in the long run, the government is better off to rid the thugs.
