Naveen Pillai Out Of Line With Her Responsibilities At The UN And Seen As Someone With Pro -Tamil Diaspora Instigated Bias !

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If only The UN High Commissioner for Human rRights Navi Pillay paused for a moment to overview her blatantly unfounded allegations against the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) in her ongoing barrage of wordsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ which is beccoming a nagging menace to the well being and smooth functioning of Sri Lanka today She could be respected as an impartial UN representative worthy of holding her office but sadly this does not seem to be the case!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ She seems to have a penchant for making speculative analyses with hardly a semblance of tangible evidence towards the accusations relative to the GOSLƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ not in keeping with her honored ( perhaps it should have been honorary) status where the basis of her conclusions are analogies drawn with other areas of the world where horrendous human rights violations transpired as she has noted in her latest tirade but fails to see the difference between Sri Lanka’s war against global terrorismƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ being a legitimate one and the terror campaign lasting three decadesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with tangible proof of attrocities by the perpetrators of a destructive terrorist insurrection intended to bring down a legitimate sovereign democracy.

At this stage one wonders what kind of intelligence is involved in the mindset of someone
who continues to pursue this direction and whether she even for a moment pauses to think that her transparencies are quite visible to the more discerning where objectives once again point to her bias in favour of the Sri Lanka Tamil diaspora where there are suspicions by some political analystsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that her blatant pursuit of the Sri Lanka Government may have far deeper and hidden connections linked directly to the Global Tamil Diaspora who have not given up the goal of resurrecting the Tamil cause for secession in Sri Lanka.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Quite irrespective of her pursuit of the “never never!” which it is tantamount to given all the related details, she has surfaced again at the UNHRC Sessions in Geneve( what better place to continue he tirade it needs to be observed with perhaps a distorted expectancy of driving yet another destructiveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ spear into Sri Lanka)ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with herƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ usual cacophonyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that ” ‘massive’ violations had taken place during the war in Sri Lanka as though she had been part and parcel of it herself which in more than one sense portrays her most irresponsible rhetoric in support of those whom she sympathises with. If she needs proof of who commited the most “massive ” of Attrocities she should pop into Sri Lanka’a Military Archives and War Library where documented proof of the LTTE’s virtual genocide program against the Sinhalese although being classifed exists. and perhaps could serve as an eye opener to the Pillai litanies!

In herƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ speech on the opening day of the 22nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, she has been quickƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to pounce on Sri Lanka with her usual balderdash which seems to bypass the horrendous liabilities of the Tamil Tigers although villifying the GOSL with obvious intentions to denigrate and bring to disrepute with a flourish of words which could in all probabilities fool many adjudicators whose minds aren’t fully convinced about what really transpired in Sri Lanka in the decades long internal terrorist armed insurrection!

The one truism inƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Pillay’s speech however does seem to bear testimony to reality namelyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that “there are too many people with command responsibility in several countries who escape justice for serious crimes and human rights violations” which is indeed true but if she is implying this about the Sri Lankan authorities with the PresidentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as the chief violator sheƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ seems confused, misguided and totally out of whack as all of these are far greater liabilities on her part beyond bias to broadcast speculatively to the world as the evidence in favour of Sri Lanka conducting a legitimate anti-terrorist campaign (where even the Geneva Convention was observed although this was not a conventional war) stands out implicitlyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ .

The world knows thatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Hundreds of thousands of people have died in two genocides in Rwanda and Bosnia andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Herzegovina, the Palestinian territories are still occupied, massive violations haveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ occurredƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in IraqƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and mendaciously conducted by dictatorial and autocratic regimes but in the case ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the war crimesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ handle is a superimposed one at the behest of one Naveen Pillai in this instance sitting on her high perch in the UN enclaveƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ being continuously and near obsessively fed by the innuendo, lies and cooked up/fabricated evidence by the enemies of Sri Lanka and something she needs to come to terms with that the world is also becoming aware of her biases laced in sympathy with the Global Tamil Diaspora!

This said with much confidence in support of Sri Lanka who eventually succeeded in a precedent setting anti terrorist campaign where the Tamils and other minorities alongside the majority ethnic Sinhalese today live in contentment side by side in Sri Lanka while her antagonists from Tamil Nadu and now a recently identified one from the UN continue to campaign in a seemingly worthless attempt to discredit the GOSL where given the fact, figures and all related statistics Sri lanka has done herself proud.In this sense all of SriƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ asanka’s adversaries in related perspective should hang their heads in shame and this includes Naveen Pillai!

That the monsters in the guise of National leaders continueƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ commit attrocitiesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in numerous internal conflicts including those continuing in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Sudan and Syria asƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ pointed out by her is a fact of life in the world today and her responsibility to isolate as criminals with war crimes against them but to stamp Sri Lanka in this category seems to accentuate her delusion and incapacity to view the salient truth towards exonerating Sri Lanka from the distorted accusations which by itself seems eitherƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ignorance, apathy or a combination of both leaning towards the bias which so often corrupts and distorts!

And ironically there hardly is a need for the UN Ambassador for Human Rights to urgeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the UNHRCƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to nurture and strengthen the system designed to deal with such crimes and violations and those who commit them as it is part and parcel of the UN Constitution albeit in mere token vein as all these perpetrators somehow appear to get away with their liabilities where only Sri Lanka seems to be continually targetted and for all the wrong reasons.
With all the ongoing attrocities around the world unabated and unchecked it makes one wonder what the net worth of the UN Constitution is where the likes of Ms. Pillai might be better off trying to find a means to implement it relative to effectivity towards making the world a better place for all humanity which so far seems a mere pipe dream!!

Sunil Kumar, do you know any thing about this cow? I do not think so. Around 1970 there was a South African Right wing news paper published a childhood report, that Navi Pillai has written in a school magazine. I had this news paper cutting but I have lost it and do not have solid proof. Navi Pillai wrote that her mother and father wipped her regularly. Her mother’s brother some times comes to their house and after the wipping by mother and father, takes to a back room and ….. I found out from Lorenzo, that It is a Tamil custom that mother’s brother gets married to her daughter. It also add some thing for resoning that Navi Pallai had …. Later she started a EELAM society at her school. This was to create EELAM in Sri Lanka and not in India. According to her publications at that time, Tamils were the majority in Jaffna and Northern Porivince. She cleraly stated that Sinhala should be driven out of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu should annex the of Sri Lanka. She wanted connections around the world where Tamils lived so she started having sex with older men who had money and connections with Tamils in other countries. This was time she met the much older man Pillai and got married to her. Intrigueing part is that CBK, good friend of Navi Pallai submitted her name to UNHCR! Herman even calls her lady. When I first added comments to an article written by Charles Perera, he became very angry told me that I must not accuse a high officila of the UNHCR with out proof. My question to the readers is that; do the Tamils fabricate stories to 1. Insult the Sri Lanka Constitution, 2. Insult JRJ founder of the Republic and the Constitution, 3. Fabricate stories about MR family and publish them using Sinhala? Like Prabhakeren’s son was shot by Sri Lanka Army and the body disposed.

Thank you all for the interesting speculation on Navi Pillai’s early sex life! Be that as it may, can we instead on Lankaweb + GoSL focus on the procedures at the UN for getting her removed from her position for raw prejudice in breach of the UN Charter against Sri Lanka? Just to focus our minds, SL had no objection to her initially at the time of her appointment and rightly so. On the other hand if we did so, WE COULD have been ourselves accused of prejudice at that time against a Tamil holding the position, even before she does a days work! Having seen now her actual performance on how biased she is against SL, now is the time to target her. Of course we should not forget that some Tamils have done well to protect SL. like the Foreign Minister late Mr Kadirgamar or later m/s Tamara Kunanayakam our rep in Geneva. An interesting collection of comments indeed where some of the revelations are incredulous.
NP’s early childhood traumas probably played a pivotal role towards what she is today but even if written proof of this exists it would be irrelevant to the role she plays in the UN although it may be the root cause of her angry and coercive personality. She does not deserve to hold her position in the UN based on the simple rationale of bias and her past track record.
On another note ~ comments from the likes of this Lingam Andy should not be posted on LankaWeb as it sullies the quality of the debates here particularly with such a weak command of the English Language !!

What a “circus is this”?. There is one person sitting in the “Seat” (Presiding) of UNHRC a limb of the world body called UN. Please correct me if I am wrong, Sri Lanka too “endorsed” her for the second term of office after the last session of this august body. So, until such time this (putting her in place for a further period of time) is “refuted”, I firmly and convincingly state that Sri Lanka too is liable for the very appointment. So what is all these “background checks” and “insinuations” on her personality. If she was a victim of “sexual harassment” by her own relatives, that perhaps makes her all the more qualified to hold a high position in this organization. In like manner, do you all know that recently, Ms. Anushika Sankar,(equally acclaimed world over, as the father) the daughter of maestro Ravi Shamkar came forward to declare publicly she was a victim of sexual abuse by a “confidante” of his father and she joined the “Billoin women” to speak for the victimes. I value that very much and honour her for giving that lead to those wormen of the world. Perhaps Ms. Navi Pillai would have joined that movement. I do not know.
So please be relevant and I urge you all to refrain from such “vituperations” as such actions do not speak and maintain the “integrity and honour” of this web page and also the people who submit such comments.
As S de Silva says, let us confront and meet her arguments and assertions logically and factually to vindicate our rights and privileges. This is more applicable to UNHRC and its Tamil Navi Nazi Pillai.
Understanding the CONTEXT, background, upbringing of a person helps to know his BIAS.
NP is BIASED AGAINST SL and BIASED towards Tamils. Why? We now know.
That is VERY HELPFUL to tackle her. NP is only PART of the challenge, I agree. We have to address other BIGGER issues, agree. But we have to FIRST AND FOREMOST unduerstand the creature presiding the UNHRC because that creature has considerable power to affect the UNHRC.
UNSUBSTANTIATED allegations against NP should NOT be discussed as I said. Then we end up like UNHRC!!

Thanks for all the comments. I didn’t want the readers of this article have only critic of her policy, but to know who she is and what factors were responsible to put her at the UNHCR. Lorenzo, let alone Googal, there is a legal search called eDiscovery, even that cannot find the schools she went to as a teenager. All I could get was, that she was an author of many books. I think that UN experts have blocked all access to her past records. There is no point in wasting time. Only to get at her records is by going to South Africa and spending lots of money. Is it worth? I don’t think so.

HRW has created a creative report on SL. It contains horrible rape stories by UK resident Tamils. But all these are fictional. No evidence is provided.
But the sad part is Tamils in SL already believe these stories and they HATE the army. Call them fools, etc. but this is the reality – they believe this nonsense and hate the army for these BS stories.
If there was any reconciliation, now it is almost lost. (Tamils who were with GOSL before 19 May 2009 are still with GOSL. They will always be with GOSL war or peace.)
This is why SL MUST have a solution WITHOUT Tamils. GOSL can NEVER win Tamils’ hearts and minds! Stop wasting money on it. Settle Muslims and Sinhalese in the north and make Tamil a minority in the north.
