A person named Sridaran talks of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-confusionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ that Asada has suffered when the latter wrote his piece titled ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Castigation of Sri Lanka by the Affluent WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. He continues that the Tamils go for greener pastures just as the Sinhalese do.
Asada has just the following to state:
Most, if not all, Sinhalese went and settled in Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA after going through the legal channels of immigration. On the other hand, many of SridaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s (I assume Sridaran is a Tamil of Sri Lankan origin) blood brothers claimed bogus refugee status to travel to far, far lands, especially Canada, and settle in those countries.

We should send MORE of them OUT OF SL. It is better for the SL body to defecate this dirt and flush it out than keep inside which leads to infection.

Why do Sri Lankans go greener pastures legally or illegally?
If one examines the Sri Lankans who left our shores in 60/70’s on student and work visas stayed behind and obtained residency in the West purely for economic reasons. [i’m guilty of that but at least i retained my Sri Lankan citizenship and worked in SL during the 80’s and now semi retired in SL]
In the 80’s many (including our own First Family siblings) obtained residency for economic reasons. You have Plane loads of Sri Lankans going to the Middle East for greener pastures.
There is no denying that majority of Bogus refugees to the West are Tamils from Sri Lanka since the mid 80’s.
What’s intrigues me is that how come these Bogus (Tamil) refugees to the West have bettered themselves and have become a thorn in the flesh of the SL Govt and are very effective in campaigning against SL whilst the “legitimate” economic migrants sit on their back sides and bash key boards?
This was indeed a topic of discussion at a round table held in 2012 by the SL US Consulate.

Bogus refugees do immesurable damage the interests of Sri Lanka. They have turned the entire body-politic of Canada against us, calling for economic and arms embargoes that tie the hands of our armed forces and deny investments to our skilled people that would develop the country. They spread any manner of falsehoods in their host countries so they can stay there eg “the Sinhalese are eating Tamils” is one of them. I have heard and countered these lies on numerous occasions and been threatened by bogus refugees and their western mentors on many occasions. Most bogus refugees are Tamils because they use their ethnicity to get a visa so their first acts abroad are to break the law, tell lies and commit an act of racism. The second and third generation in Canada is often worse. They believe the lies their parents told them and have no way of verifying it. The only news they get is from the biased western media and tamilnet. Canada’s “multicultural” society encourages trans generational ghettoes albeit with a veneer of “Canadianess” to appease their majority. LTTE rump are spending huge amounts of blood money building “sewerage like habitat” to replicate this system in every country where these fish go out of water so they can swim. There are a few Sinhalese, Muslim and Burgher opportunists who tell false or exaggerated stories to remain abroad but their numbers are few and its not done on an organised basis. The best solution for Sri Lanka is to pay disloyal Tamils to emigrate to Tamil Nadu and spend propoganda money in the west explaining the reason they are fleeing is caste discrimination, female infanticide, ritualistic slaughter etc. Then they can run from Tamil Nadu (with a good excuse provided by SL) if they want, and the problem becomes theirs. We have nothing to do withtheir backward social problems. We can be left alone to develop peacefully.

The confusion still lingers Asada ! You see, now you come out with an explanation that the Sinhalese emigrated with valid visas and the Tamil refugees entered illegally . But that was NOT your point in your above para. Here, you found fault with them for ‘ignoring ‘ Tamil Nadu and flying all the way to Canada . My answer was Canada was an affluent nation and attracts both Sinhalese and Tamils and several other ethnic groups. You have not disputed this. Though the fefugees initially enter without valid documents, the Canadian Govt. regularises their stay after checking the merits of the case. All refugees who entered Tamil Nadu by boats too never carried any travel documents. They too were illegal entrants into Indian territory. Therefore , you can see , your feeble explanation that some sections carried visas and some did not does NOT answer my argument .

Ten acres or ten sq. ft – who cares dude ? Your Sakkili Villa , your Sakkili Fruit Trees , Your Sakkili Rat hole – ALL these mean ZERO to me . I have an ongoing debate with Asada . If you can participate in the debate with valid points , then do so. We don’t need your SAKKILI talk on Lankaweb man !!!!!!!!!! Maintain the decency of this forum. If your upbringing and family background requires you to have many SAKKILI words in your vocabulary, then don’t come here and pollute the atmosphere .
