Tamil Eelam returns to Tamil Nadu, India

‚ The charade of setting up Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka has lasted long enough -” 30 years to be precise. Tamil Nadu has been happy to watch from the balcony attempts to set up the foundation for Eelam in Sri Lanka as prescribed by Indian Governments. With the vanquishing of the LTTE that hijacked the Eelam idea thus bringing a lot of hounds to the region the scenario has become complicated. Too many players all out to get their own pound of flesh. Be that as it may, sheer grit and commitment won the day with necessary leadership backing to vanquish the tiger and its ability to strike terror through weapons. Eelam in limbo meant a quick pooling of minds moving on to plan B and that was to take Eelam to where it was originally meant to be, now that 30 years has been sufficient a time to lay the foundations in the original place it was to be enshrined. We begin to understand the calls of the wild from across the Palk Strait and the efforts taking place to plug the North of Sri Lanka into a Greater Eelam as a token of appreciation for all the 30 years of toil having coaxed Sri Lanka-â„¢s Government into holding elections and placing as Chief Minister one inspite of his education and legal experience is willing to chirp the Eelam song. But alas, India-â„¢s iron fist has come down hard -” India within days have done what Sri Lanka took 30 years to do -” the memorial built in honour of Tamil -Ëœmartyrs-â„¢ in Sri Lanka has been demolished within days of inauguration.

‚ Nullifying External Affairs Ministers excuse that the non-attendance of Indian Prime Minister to the CHOGM in Sri Lanka was partly due to Tamil sentiments in Tamil Nadu has been the demolition of the Memorial opened for Prabakaran in Tamil Nadu. Now the demolition of a memorial does not constitute upholding Tamil sentiments, doest it and especially so when it comes within days of Manmohan sending a love letter of excuse to President Rajapakse?

‚ The Mullivaaikal Memorial was opened by P. Nedumaran, the President of the Ulaga Tamizhar Peramaippu (World Tamils Federation) at Vilar, village in Tanjore on 6th November 2013 after permission was granted by a judge of the Madras High Court. Incidentally, quite a number of high profile members had been involved in the setting up of the memorial including M. Natarajan husband of Sasikala, close aid of Chief Minister Jayalalitha. Numerous people from Sri Lanka living in Sri Lanka and overseas had also contributed funds. This directly links them with LTTE initiatives throughout the terror in Sri Lanka.

‚ Worthy of mention too is the recent demolition of Prabakaran-â„¢s underground bunker in Pudukurippu by Sri Lanka-â„¢s army and whatever else are reminders of the tiger leader and killer despite some STILL holding him in reverence.

‚ What is also interesting is that unlike Sri Lankan authorities made to shy from taking actions on account of pressures that would come their way through various other means, India not only demolished the memorial wall and park but gave instructions to Tamil Nadu chief minister to arrest 6700 extremist and pro-tiger terrorist elements including Vaiko across 135 places including Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Madurai who were protesting the total boycott of CHOGM by India in Sri Lanka.

‚ With all these developments Leena Manimekalai, the directress of the controversial -Ëœwhite van-â„¢ documentary has accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for playing a double game by passing resolutions against Sri Lanka but arresting people and destroying memorials. That is in deed a good question posed to Jayalalith to answer.

‚ Dr. Subramaniam Swamy in a recent discussion raised the question of the logic in why those accused of killing Rajiv Gandhi should escape punishment because it affected the Tamil sentiments. Using the same argument how many of the dead and injured in the IPKF killed by LTTE were from Tamil Nadu? If none of the killed or injured IPKF were Tamils of Tamil Nadu what would Tamil Nadu say of the sentiments of the families of the slain IPKF soldiers demanding justice for the killing of Indian soldiers on duty by the LTTE -” the very organization for which the memorial has been inaugurated? Why has it taken India 25 years to lay a memorial that too established by Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka by Sri Lankan soldiers? Why has no such memorial been established in India for these Indian jawans who came on behalf of India to disarm the LTTE as part of the promise given to Sri Lanka -” a job they claimed they could do in hours but couldn-â„¢t or didn-â„¢t want to or was ordered not to, which eventually led to IPKF being unceremoniously been asked to leave Sri Lanka. If Tamil Nadu are Indians and proud Indians too why do they hesitate to remember the IPKF but raise funds to erect a memorial for Prabakaran the very leader who carried out the killing of Rajiv Gandhi on Tamil Nadu soil? There is something certainly amiss here.

‚ We would like to remind Indian authorities that its intelligence agency that claimed LTTE as their -Ëœboys-â„¢ taking orders initially from them may perhaps be influenced by western sources resulting in the Indian Government being misled no different to how the Indian military were misled by Indian intelligence on numerous occasions in Sri Lanka when they arrived to disarm the LTTE. Indian Government is well advised to investigate how many of its officials are placing India-â„¢s integrity and sovereignty above the other interests they are working towards and that probe must start with Tamil Nadu with the open question of whether now that Eelam has returned to India-â„¢s Tamil Nadu will India simply stop at demolishing memorials or completely take the bull by the horns.

‚ At this stage we cannot but wonder if Prime Ministerial candidate Modi will fall for the tune of Tamil Nadu and the Eelam lobbyists controlling it -” we think not, which is why Sri Lanka strongly feels that Narendra Modi is the best thing that could happen to India at least to save it from digging its own grave.

‚ In whatever synonym Eelam is promoted what it cannot hide is the ultimate endeavor to carve out a separate state from its current allegiance -” therefore whether it is in Sri Lanka or India that separate state endeavor is the ultimate objective. Sri Lanka has clearly said NO (though there are some politicians happy to help carve out Eelam) but now that the ball is in India and the chicken or rather the tiger has come to roost there, far more serious than not attending CHOGM is India-â„¢s decision on what it proposes to do with Eelam. That decision, in real terms to safeguard India-â„¢s sovereignty, India needs to keep all elements linked to Eelam be it in Sri Lanka, India or elsewhere at arms length and some Indian politicians may not like this too much.

‚ Eelam be in Sri Lanka or India is of strategic concern for both nations, the region and China and Russia in particular.

‚ Nevertheless, what is interesting is that Eelam has finally returned to India-â„¢s Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka can now watch from the balcony how India handles it.

‚ What needs to be added is that inspite of India-â„¢s callous attitude and haughty actions upon Sri Lanka with word going around that Sri Lanka-â„¢s foreign policy is being run by Indian foreign office, our leaders continue to allow India stakes in Sri Lanka and watches India leverage its hold leading to a possible takeover of the country without even a whimper by our leaders except that which comes from the nationalists.‚

‚ A good example of the servility towards India is in the manner the Government ignored concerns about giving Trincomalee and Sampur and has now plans to give India to handle all communication channels of the Sri Lankan armed forces. If all goes well and cabinet approves this all that our armed forces say and do will be monitored by India. When the Defense Secretary-â„¢s phone was tapped by the Indian telecommunication company set up in Sri Lanka to run at a loss but to be used strategically, should we be giving all our strategic stakes to India for a song and then turn to the nationalists to save the day after putting the entire country in jeopardy?‚

‚ These are questions that Sri Lanka-â„¢s leaders need to ask themselves without being too engrossed in the oomph of CHOGM and the fanfare surrounding it. What the Government should be more concerned about is the next election when a common candidate (despite a dark record) will emerge aligning all opposition/minority parties against the present Government, inside which plenty of snakes prevail ready and bargaining to do a kangaroo.

Tamil Nadu, with 50,216 sq miles (twice that of Sri Lanka) and the home to 72 million Tamils isthe real home and land of eelam. Karunanidhi / jayalalitha dont have the guts to fight for their own eelam.. Instead, they scream about their hallucination of eelam in north Sri Lanka.

  2. Fran Diaz Says:

Eelam is really an idea mainly to unify/subdue the Tamil Caste divide and satisfy Tamil Nadu expansionist passions. Also, the Eelam idea was mooted during the Cold War times, to suit Cold War needs of outside parties.

P’karan ran with anyone with some gun power and economic clout.

Sri Lanka has been USED (as usual) by outside interests. High time this was stopped and real Democracy prevailed – by the People, for the People.

    I disagree.

Tamils in SL has MORE benefits, money and power individually than Tamil Nadu dirt.

As long as Tamils in SL are better off Tamil Elam BS will be in SL not TN.

In Endia Tamil racist junk gets DESTROYED. But in SL Tamil racist junk get RESPECTED (e.g. Deepak dirt)!! So which is the PREFERRED homeland of Tamils? Safe SL.

Size wise, Sri Lanka is small enough to mess around with compared to larger Tamil Nadu watched by the rest of India. Sri Lanka GoSL (whatever GoSL) leaders tend to be ‘controlled’ by Delhi Centre too -e.g. even openly pro-west JRJ was made to succumb to India imposed 13-A which is still with us. Cold Wars are killers for small countries like Sri Lanka.

Imposing the 6-A is one way to get rid of the Eelam idea in Sri Lanka. Deporting Tamil & other illegal migrants should be a national security must. Forming a National Govt. will help too. Labor should be modernized & mechanized, particularly in the tea plantations.

Who cares whether India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had pulled out of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo 2013.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not attended even 2011 at Perth, instead be represented by puppet figure head its vice president Hamid Ansari. These Indians will have some issues always. Its their habit similar to animals. So why worry about these Indians,CHOGM Party 2013 will continue as usual in Sri Lanka. Canada is infested with Tamils so they can sleep with left over LTTERs. Let 3rd Language in Canada become Tamil within 10 Years time.

The visiting Channel-4 Journalist team Callum Macrae & Miller should not bother to go North to see War crimes. Within Colombo they can cover sits of killing own Tamils like Mr Kadiragaman , Amirthalingam, Thiruchelvam, Fernandopulla. Also President Premadasa and interview Gotabaya how the Triple Gem saved his life at Green path to serve the country from LTTE. Central Bank and many other killing sits. While at Anuradhapura Railway Station before coming back to Colombo they would have gone to Sri Maha Bodhi & if like visit Kandy and Angarathalawa etc. If Channel -4 wish to make impartial documentaries they should get approval from the Govt: and spend more time and do proper job. But their moral is questionable. Channel-4 is very famous in UK since 2006-7 for their controversial films like “Penis Week” and “Wank Week” which were rejected by UK public itself. SL Govt: would have not given Visa to this 3rd class TV station catering to Gallery.

    ………………………….

Callum MacRae (Tiger Director making Films-for-Pay)

    Divaina.com
    November 14, 2013

The Pet Tiger, Callum MacRae, who recently arrived in Sri Lanka to report on the CHOGM, cannot be dismissed as a mere idiot. Having been educated at Britain’s Edinburgh Arts College, he is an educated crafty man. Therefore, his vile activities have some impact and acceptance. Britain, the birthplace of Colonial Imperialism, which stole a significant portion of the world’s wealth over a period of 500 years and sucked off and digested all that was of value in Sri Lanka, is Callum MacRae’s birthplace. He is a news reporter available to all and sundry for rent.

In the international battle field there are mercenaries, but generally there are no mercenary media journalists. Filling this deficiency, around 2010, Callum MacRae made a documentary video in support of the Tiger terrorists in return for payment of blood money. During the 2011 United Nations Annual Meeting that made-for-pay video was used to stage a vast comedy by the expatriate Tiger activists, and the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora who enable and feed their terrorism. That attempt was not as successful as they had expected. For that reason, the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora got Callum MacRae to produce a second video. Recently, Callum MacRae has been earning his keep screening that video in Tamil countries and Tamil communities worldwide. This proves that Callum MacRae is an opportunist who can be bought and sold very easily for money. This became very clear the day before yesterday from his comment during a discussion with the Island newspaper staff that the LTTE, who sustained him all these years, should be investigated immediately for their war crimes! Why does Callum MacRae say this about the Tiger movement who fed and nourished him until now? At the moment he said it, he was in Sri Lanka, so does he think that he should adapt his comments to please Sri Lankans? Why has he not also said in his native England, even in passing, that the Tigers should be investigated for war crimes? We think he will not say one word against the Tigers, for if he does that he will lose his pay, and his life!

Sri Lanka is a country that having defeated the terrorists who sought to breakaway a part of its territory and offer it for consumption by Tamil Nadu, is attempting to breathe freely again. What wicked mercenary media manipulators like Callum MacRae are trying to do is to tightly pinch our nostrils just as we attempt to breathe again. This is a characteristic of the relationship between the neo-colonialists and their former colonies. Many Sinhala journalists who are similar mercenaries also exist, but they live under the protection of European countries. We all know that, compared to the number of terrorists who died in the separatist war in Sri Lanka, many more hundreds-of-thousands of terrorists have been slaughtered in European conflicts. For destroying the Taliban and Al-Quaida movements, the United States drops bombs daily on the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. In these bombings, Taliban activists, and government employees, shoppers buying goods, traders selling dates, sleeping children expecting to go to school the next day, die by the hundreds without distinction. Why doesn’t Callum MacRae make a video, or stage a play, about these vile acts? Spying on half-the-world by American President Barack Obama’s National Security Adminitration (NSA) was recently exposed. Why doesn’t Callum MacRae make a video, or a play, about this? The whole world knows that the wicked British Colonialists slaughtered tens of thousands of innocent Sri Lankans in suppressing the Uva-Welassa Revolt of 1818, also ravishing thousands of women, decapitating thousands of children, and burning hundreds of thousands of homes. Why does Callum MacCRae avoid making a historical movie about this genocide? The mercenary journalist for rent that he is, is it impossible for him to find a sponsor for this movie?

Patriotic Sri Lankan expatriates should initiate and fund projects like this.

Our understanding is that there is no legal room for Callum MacRae, as a journalist, to even contemplate much less actually make, any movies under signed contractual agreements with a terrorist movement such as the LTTE.

    Plan has not changed.

    1. Get the North and East PCs running ( ruining ), draining Sri Lanka’s resources and energy. Organize spring uprising and surround the army camps. Let the army fire at sakkilis and thousands killed.

    2. Get the two PCs joined. Create problems in the South, sabotage SLFP/JHU…./ alliance, get UNP government.

    3. Create Elam in the N&E provinces. Bring more and more sakkilis to Ealam and emigrate to other provinces.

    4. Extend the Elam to whole of Sri Lanka.

Shenali’s penultimate para is interesting. Why should we give our SLT to a company belonging to a tamil in the first place?. And now they plan to give defence communications to India. What an idiotic lot the mandarins in MOD are?. Before long they will hand over the country to India to run. In the circumstances, the dark horse (seemingly unpatriotic) mentioned in the last para may even be a better option.

Giving the communications channels of the SL armed forces India ? Why ? Who is the common enemy that the joint forces of Indo/Lanka are fighting here ? If at all, it should be for co-operation in weather related disasters, and that may be done through the Ministries of Defense, in Lanka & India.

GoSL must draw back away from the India’s stifling embrace in every sphere. Let us be a strength unto ourselves without being subjugated by this country or that country. The Buddha said “depend upon yourself”.
