After questioning, Bahu and Co. likely to be arrested within the next few days
List had 43 names and 15 of them were false
Apart from Dr. Karunaratne, a female attorney and all JPs who attested the affidavits of all candidates in the NSSP nomination list have also been sumoned to the Gampaha Police Station.
Reports stated that after questioning they are likely to be arrested within the next few days if they are found to have acted deliberately to deceive the Elections Commissioner.
Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana commenting on the issue said Karunaratne had submitted a nomination list with fake names and false information as a contestants list for the Western Provincial Council election from the Gampaha district.
The list had 43 names and 15 of them were false.
Another candidate mentioned in the list had gone abroad. Among the illegally included names were those of two deceased persons and the list also contained names, addresses and Identity Card numbers of persons who were not born in Sri Lanka.
If Karunaratne who leads a political party receiving foreign funds had deliberately committed this fraud and had tried to deceive the Elections Commissioner and bring him into disrepute he would be charged in a court of a law, the SSP said.
If Karunaratne failed to appear at the Gampaha Police Station today as requested, he may even be arrested on a court order, sources said.

Wicramabahu is a rat snake but has to give maximum punishment to this guy for election fraud. Send him to jail and expose the fraudster.
“Persons who were not born in Sri Lanka” May be prabakaran’s dad’s relatives I guess.
“Two deceased person” May be v.prabakaran and pottu amman.
Unless otherwise dead person who want to contest with this joker who got only 7500 votes from entire country in last Presidential election. Joker of the left movement ever since.
