The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka

19th June 2014

His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha

President

Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

Presidential Secretariat

Galle Face,

Colombo 1

Your Excellency,

The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka calls upon your Excellency to immediately investigate the actions of all extremist groups and ban those who have been carryout a campaign of hate, intimidation and violence against Muslims, Christians and other religious minorities. The incitement and provocations have been well documented and are available in the public realm. The consequences as witnessed in Aluthgama and Beruwela this week, but also during periodic flare-ups in several other places, have been dire.Appeals made to the police and other authorities by several Muslim groups and the Muslim politicians to stop the rally in Alutgama that preceded the attack wasnot heeded.  We feel that it is necessary and urgent that the climate of impunity with which these groups have been permitted to act thus far is challenged. We urge decisive action by your Excellency’s Government to restore and uphold the rule of law in this country. It is necessary that a culture of respect for ethnic and religious tolerance– a part of this country’s rich and ancient heritage –is endorsed and encouraged at the highest levels. Five years after the end of the war as this country attempts to strengthen peace, democracy and development under your leadership, this violence and hate threatens to undermine the stability that serves as the foundation for the progress of Sri Lanka.

The BLACK June 2014 for Muslims in Aluthgama and Beruwela reminds us of the black July of 1983, where thousands of Tamils lost lives, livelihood and their properties. The recent incidents have heightened fears that the violence will spread and that Muslims in other areas will come under attack, resulting in deaths and injuries, the destruction of businesses and homes, and the mass flight of Muslims from their homes and communities.Immediately after the pogrom in Aluthgama, extremists had organized a rally in Mawanella on the 18th with provocativemessages on leaflets. It was with a court order that the rally was stopped. On the 17th,a rally was organized in Badulla which led to damages to two shops.Organizing these rallies during the troubled times shows the intention of the extremists. There has been a strategic build up to this violence during the last two years by the Bodu Bala Sena, the Sihala Ravaya and the Ravana Balakaya. Your Excellency, the violence in Aluthgama and Beruwela is not something that happened spontaneously, but was a well planned and coordinated assault to attack the Muslim community and their economic base.

Extremists continue to inflame and incite violence against the Muslims and other religious minorities, and this must be stopped. It is important that, under your Excellency’s able leadership, Sri Lanka will not repeat the same mistakes of July 1983. This country cannot continue to witness private feuds being turned in to racial violence. Therefore we urge you to commence an investigation into these groups’ activities, including into the hate speech, inciting violence and direct involvement in violence, and ensure that they function within the law of this country.  We also urge your Excellency to ban any group that continues with hate campaigns and inciting violence.

The Muslim community are committed citizens of this country and your Excellency’s decisive and immediate action at this juncture will reinforce their faith in your Excellency’s resolve to ensure that all communities will be treated as equal citizens of this, our blessed nation.

Thanking you for your kind consideration.

Yours sincerely

Our president should use this golden opportunity to ban all racist and fundamentalist religious organisations that spread racist and religious hatred. This include Muslim organisations with direct or indirect links with Al-Qaeda, Abu Sayyaf, Ansar al-Islam, Armed Islamic Group of Algeria, Army of Islam, Boko Haram, Taliban, Egyptian Islamic Jihad, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Jemaah Islamiyah, Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Indian Mujahideen, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and also TNA. Ban all political parties organised on racial identities and introduce a new legislation to force all political parties to include executive committee members representing all three major ethnic groups Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim.

Muslims are also at fault. NO ONE can blame ONLY Buddhists for this.

Disgustingly racist SLMC must also be banned if BBS is banned. TNA should also be banned.

If BBS is banned and SLMC is not banned, then there will be WORSE riots.

There was no BBS before 2012, if I am correct. I was started because of actions of fundamentalist Muslims organizations, whose aspirations is to Islamise Sri Lanka, and introduce Middle Eastern Arabic culture to SL, with middle eastern finances. It is these Muslim Organizations that should be banned and put a stop to their aspirations and BBB will die a natural death. Whoever support BBS, but for them every one in SL will be forced to eat Hallal labelled foods and many more disproportionate number of Mosques and Islamic cultural centers would have sprung up all over the country. Those who want the middle eastern culture, the dress and the Sharia law should move to those countries and be happy.
Where ever their are Muslims, there is tensions with the people of other faiths and it is not only in SL. Instead of trying to force their ways on others, they should move to places where they are practiced.
I observe that so many prominent Buddhists condemn the BBS and their alleged actions, but I do not see any Muslim say anything against the actions of the Muslims that cause all these problems, either in SL or anywhere else in the world. Has any Muslim In SL criticized the Muslim violence against Muslims in Iraq or the atrocities against women In Muslim countries as well as in UK against their women.

If BBS is banned and SLMC is not banned, then there will be WORSE riots !!!!

long time (5 years) We’ve not seen any fair work in mother Lanka ( Vaana Vedikkai ) !!!

so now Nalai pirakkum Muslim Eelam !!!

  5. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

As I stated earlier there are two ways to create harmony and disharmony.

The first way is government sanctioned alien religious conversions to the spread of that faith. During the war Sri Lanka got weapons support from a whole range of Muslim nations. How do I know this. On the last days of my business trip to Sri Lanka (for a month in May 2009) the back page of the main newspaper in Colombo honored all the nations who helped Sri Lanka during the war by printing their flags. Almost all of them were Arab Muslim nations. That is how I know. Sri Lanka paid a heavy price for accepting arms from Islamic nations to fight Hindu Tamil terrorism.

During one of my many comments in the “Times of India” on articles regarding Sri Lanka a Pakistani Muslim commenter suggested and I paraphrase “Islam will convert Sri Lanka you wait and see” Obviously this commenter knew what he/she was writing.

As I stated the first way is government sanctioned and the effects on the nation are as devastating as a full front invasion. The second way is the back lash. The attack of two towns pales in comparison to the inroads made by Islam in Sri Lanka yet it got world wide condemnation. While Islam was taking over Buddhist Sri Lanka the world as usual stood silent and they will stay silent as long as it is legal and condoned by the government. This is “disharmony” cloaked as “harmony”.

the only solutions I can offer are that Sri Lanka made Buddhism a state faith as done by 15 Christian nations and close to 50 odd Muslim nations. Secondly Sri Lanka become independent of foreign purchases of arms. Learn to manufacture her own weaponry. it is not that hard. Most of the technology to build tanks, to warships etc. are available. The Reseach and development of this sector would free Sri Lanka from the Muslim world.

Finally all the platitudes made by the Sri Lankan Muslims holds no water if the question is placed upon their religious leaders why Muslim nations bar the presence of other faiths. Why Muslim nations bar the act of conversion by other faiths and the construction of holy houses of other faiths on their lands? If they find it acceptable in Muslim lands then the question should be asked why shouldn’t non Muslim lands use the same Muslim laws to protect Buddhism in Sri Lanka? Why is it right when other religions are prevented in Muslim lands and wrong when such laws could be enacted in non Muslim lands. Please ask them that after they plea and plead about their human rights issues.

Dire warning to Sinhela people !

As you are reading this the MUSLIM attacks on Hela specifically Buddhists are on incline where as per our careful and lengthy investigations it has been found that the MUSLIMS are in the secret operation and preparation to launch an all out armed attack on Buddhists who are without arms and without any help from the rulers or security forces. Incidentally this is in coincidence with 1915 MUSLIM riot against Hela Buddhists under the British rule and MUSLIMS managed to manipulate the British anger against Hela and get marshal law declared to massacre the Hela Buddhist people to whim and fancy of MUSLIMS.

We cannot afford to face similar situation and we Hela too must prepare counter attack and it has to be all out with maximum possible force, since there is no protection could be expected from the president Rajapaksha and his govt. that now bows to MUSLIMS to our total dismay.

A disastrous situation is very close by and therefore we very clearly inform Hela people to be away from MUSLIM Shops entirely and definitely, otherwise in which case the Hela people inside MUSLIM establishments may become Hostages as well as Victims of attacks.

    • From now on please do not even stay closer to a MUSLIM Shop!

    • Do not go in to purchase anything inside a MUSLIM Shop!

“ MAKARAAKSHA “ only protection for Hela

  7. Caesar Says:

MUSLIM bastards ! Stop talking nonsense. You have no country here nor you have rights to this Hela land. Fuck off!
