Rathika Sitsabaiesan, NDPs Rookie MP for Scarborugh-Rouge River, Ontario
House of Commons, Ottawa
Hon. Steven Blaney, Minister for Public Safety;
Hon. Tom Mulcair, MP, Leader of the NDP and the Oppositio;
Hn. Julian Fantino, Minister of Veteran Affairs.

Dear Rathika:

You have humiliated our Democratic Institution, the House of Commons, having disgraced our Veterans who went to war and made an ultimate sacrifice to let us live in peace and enjoy freedom, and what you are enjoying in your adopted home, Canada.  The Veterans command and demand honour and respect from you, and with an apology.

You equating our brave Canadian Veterans to your Tamil Tigers, the most ruthless terrorists in the world show how sick you are the way you interpret democracy and the Remembrance Day.  To use the hallowed precincts of our Canadian Parliament to preach your distorted  love affair with your Tamil Tiger terrorists, is nothing  but being dishonest, perverse, vulgar and trite.

And Minister Blaney is absolutely right.  You should stand up with your Tiger flag-red pottu between your eye brows in the House of Commons and apologize to our Veterans for having equated them to the dastardly serial killers, the Tamil Tigers, who killed over 100,000 innocent peoples, including your Tamils, for the want of your mono-ethnic, racist, separatist Tamil State of Eelam.    Dream on lady!

You did your well orchestrated Tamil Tiger shenanigans when you went to Sri Lanka’s North and proclaimed that you have been followed, harassed and was under house arrest from the time you arrived at Colombo’s International Airport, and got all of Canada in a huff, and got the much long for cheap publicity getting a 6”x 8” portrait of yours plastered in every important news paper with your disingenuous story.  You also embarrassed  Minister John Baird, Deepak Obhrai, Lynne Yelich, Tom Mulcair and Paul Dewar  by pulling them into the fray to defend your honour.   What piffle!  Paul Dewar, the silly NDP Foreign Affairs critic blasted the Sri Lankan Government announcing that you had been followed from the time that you landed your feet on the hallowed kabook earth of my Mother Lanka.  But what Paul did not know was that you were a Rathika Who?” to the Immigration Officers in Colombo who had thought that you were another Tamil domestic returning from Kuwait or perhaps Saudi Arabia until you showed your Canadian passport.  That’s how unknown you were.   For them it was another Convention Tamil Refugee returning home who flew away from the koha’s nest saying that you had been persecuted and discriminated, but wanted your taste buds enjoy the pulp of the Jaffna mango and have a sip of the Palmyra toddy off a coconut shell that you had missed for years. Right, Rathika?

Ms. Sitsabaiesan said she was not supporting terrorism or encouraging violence,” you have been quoted. Perhaps, you may  want to explain to your parliamentary colleagues, what the heck  you were doing having the Tamil Tiger flag prominently displayed in your Face book page celebrating your win as an MP for Scarborough-Rouge River, and your election poster clearly expressing your solidarity with the Tamil Tigers  with their Tiger flag on it.  Come on explain lady.  Be honest, explain!

Explain to your parliamentary colleagues what the heck you were doing meeting all the Tamil Tiger activists in Sri Lanka’s North as well as in South India during your visit as well as Tamil Rev. S.J. Emmanuel, the President of the Global Tamil Forum who wants to carve out the best piece of real estate from Sri Lanka for your Eelam?   Surely, you were not meeting these separatist Tamil activists to reminise your kid days, how you played  hop-scotch under the shade of the mango tree in your front garden, or how you played with your stuffed doll you had named, Minachchi,  rocking it to sleep singing Lullaby Baby on the Palmyra tree top/ when the separatist winds blow the cradle will rock”.

Come on, do the honourable thing and stand up in parliament and apologize to our Veterans as requested by Minister Blaney.

For sure Rathika so that you know,  I didn’t wear a replica of  a Flanders Fields brilliant red poppy on my lapel on November 11, for your love-in Tamil Tigers, but did it proudly for the Canadian Veterans for whom I bow my head one more time with a sigh, a tear and a Thank You”.

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe.

    Indian colonial parasites and vermin will soon out number the British in British Canada.

    It is disgusting how a MP in Canada’s national parliament can get up in parliament chamber and give veneration to the LTTE terrorists when LTTE remains a banned terrorist entity in Canada. Canada: Shame Shame Shame! This MP should have been disciplined by having her removed from the chamber immediately, but no, that did not happen. So Canada, the next time you go about preaching to Sri Lanka the virtue of being RIGHTEOUS, I suggest you first take stock of your own actions.

    It is really disgusting but is it surprising that this Tamil Tiger supporter made that speech? Canada supports the Tigers and deserves to have this type of cheap politicians.
