Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim\nCommunity addresses the worldwide Jama\u2019at from his office, Tilfrod, Surrey,\nUnited Kingdom.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\n (27 March 2020), during the Covid-19 pandemic, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza\nMasroor Ahmad (Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper), delivered a LIVE\nmessage for the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama\u2019at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmadiyya Khalifa\nat the beginning of his address said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic,\ngovernments around the world, including the British government, have stopped\nall congregational prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Holiness\npointed out that at present, the exact law is not clear. There are various\ninterpretations; some say that a few close relatives and people can congregate,\nwhile others have differing opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, in\nsuch conditions, until it is not made clear, we cannot offer Jumuah (Friday)\nprayers. For this reason, after consultation, he said that instead of\ndelivering a Friday Sermon, he would deliver a message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has become the\nhabit of Ahmadi Muslims around the world to watch the Friday Sermon on MTA. His\nHoliness said that if he had not addressed the Ahmadiiyya Muslim Community\ntoday, then they would have had a longing to watch the sermon and so, he\nthought it best to address the Community  in one way or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Holiness said,\nWe cannot, for a prolonged period, leave the Jumuah prayer, and my connection\nwith the Community is also essential\u201d. After consultation, His Holiness\nexplained, a solution to this will be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the UK, people\nare allowed, individually, to pray at mosques while maintaining distance. But\ncongregational prayers are not allowed at mosques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this condition,\nJama\u2019at members should offer congregational prayers at homes and also offer\nJumuah prayer with the family. Extracts from Malfuzat<\/em>,\nor Jamaat literature, or the writings of the Promised Messiahas<\/sup>, or extracts from Al Fazl<\/em> or Al\nHakam<\/em> can be read and the khutba [sermon] can be given.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jumuah cannot\nbe left for a long time. When people will prepare their sermons\u201d, their\nknowledge will increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmadiyya\nKhalifa said, Al Hakam <\/em>has\nstarted an initiative on how people are spending their time at home. In those\ncomments, most people are writing that they are increasing their knowledge by\nreading the Quran, hadith and writings of the Promised Messiah, peace be on\nhim\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmadiyya supreme\nHead explained that even in the wider world, people are commenting on how they\nare spending their time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MTA (Muslim TV\nAhmadiyya International)  has lots of beneficial programmes, which should\nalso be watched. He emphasised that the governmental advice that is being\nspread should be followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmadiyya Khalifa\nmade it clear that prayers are key and through them, one can draw the grace of\nGod. This is what the Promised Messiah, peace be on him, continuously said,\nthat the most important thing is that we seek God\u2019s forgiveness, cleanse our\nhearts and remain engaged in good works\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where the question\nof not offering Jumuah prayer comes, it is clear from sayings of Prophet\nMuhammad (sal) – ahadith that in some conditions, the Jumuah prayer become\nexempt in mosques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness mentioned a hadith from Bukhari<\/em> and Muslim<\/em> in which Hazrat Ibn Abbasra<\/sup>, when it rained,\ntold the muazins<\/em> to say Sallu fi buyutikum<\/em>\u201d (pray in your homes) as\nopposed to Hayya alas-Salah<\/em>\u201d (come to\nprayer) and this is also what the Prophet <\/sup>of Islam (PBUH)\npractised when such conditions arose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further\nreferences from Islamic scholars of jurisprudence were presented by His\nHoliness to support this fact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the context of\nthe Covid-19 pandemic and instructions from the government, Ahmadiyya Khalifa\nsaid that in their homes, everyone should continue congregational prayers and\noffering Jumuah prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khalifa of Islam\nmade it clear that from an Islamic perspective, narrations prove that during\ncontagious pandemics, people should practise distancing and taking cautions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone should\noffer Jumuah prayers at home and His Holiness said that he would make\narrangements for this as well.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end,\nHis Holiness  prayed that this virus may quickly subside and that mankind\nmakes the most of this time in helping one another in the best possible manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
